Bulma's Life.....Like It Is! And What It Once Was......
Chapter 4: Disturbing Dreams

I picked up my old, soiled clothing and wrapped it in one of the red towels we were given. Goku gave me a strange look. I smiled at him and set the bundle on one of the small beds. There was no way I would give them up. Not after my little 'revelations'.

"I hope they come for us soon! I want to see everything!" Goku exclaimed. I didn't quite get how he could be so happy about having to serve such savage people. But he was almost one of them.

"Yeah, I know. I want to get off this ship and see Lela." I said, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"You ^always^ want to go see Lela. You have me, ya know." Goku pointed out. He looked a little hurt. I supposed he wasn't used to having competition for friendship, as if that would ever be a problem ^here^.

"Oh, Goku, just forget it. You are always my best friend." I said, and smiled a friendly smile at him, which he returned.

A knock sounded on the door. Goku and I looked at each other and bolted for the door. Goku got there first and opened it eagerly. A Saiyan stood at the door. He frowned at us.

"Come with me. We have arrived." He demanded. "King Vegeta's orders."

I scowled at the mention of King Scary. "Okay, one minute!" I said, and got my little red bundle from the bed. The Saiyan stared at me, but decided it was harmless. He led us down many long, blue halls to the exit, where King Scary and his entourge were waiting.

"Well, nice to see you two again. We have finally arrived at our destination, Vegetasei, your new home away from home." He sneered, and laughed coldly at his little joke.

Goku and I followed them out of the ship, and stood looking around us. The planet was a little chilly, as well as gray. The palace seemed a little bigger here than it looked from Lela's window. I wondered where she was. I saw no other children around us, so I figured I might as well ask.

"Excuse me, but do you know where the other children are?" I asked one of the guards. He looked at me oddly.

"They are coming later. Once all of the rooms have been prepared." He answered shortly. I didn't bother to thank him, I didn't think he would stomach that well.

Goku was smiling, drinking in his surroundings. I don't remember much about the walk ^to^ the palace, I mostly remember the walk ^inside^ the palace. The walk there wasn't important.

The palace was not like I had imagined it to be. I had thought of it as dark, prison-like, and all the other things a horrible race's palace ^should^ be. But instead I found a glorious, colorful castle. There were banners and tapestries and paintings everywhere. The carpets were red, over a black marble floor. The ceilings were all high, and torches and candles lined the walls. Many Saiyans were walking around. They gave us strange looks, probably considering we didn't have tails. You would have to be very powerful or very rich to live in a place like this, and the Saiyans were both.

"Father. We were all wondering if you had decided to stay on that puny planet." A boy's voice called. Goku and I turned around to see a boy, obviously the King's son, by his looks. I thought he was kinda cute. Goku just stared.

"Vegeta, I had told you before it might take longer than planned. Where is your educator?" He asked, looking behind the prince.

"Heh heh, he was an old bag. He died the day you left. Good for me, oh-so-sad for him." Prince Vegeta said coldly.

I glared at him. That wasn't very nice! He must have felt me looking at him, because he looked back at me. Our gazes met and it was like a glaring contest. I looked away first. He smirked in triumph.

"Who are they?" He asked. King Scary looked at us, then at the prince.

"The girl is Dr.Briefs daughter, Bulma. How old are you, girl?" He asked, like he really cared!

"Seven." I said boldly.

"And the boy is Kakkarott, Bardock's son. He is the girl's friend, somehow he forgot about his mission." King Scary stated.

The prince stared at us judgingly. "Where is his tail?" He asked, swinging his around behind him.

"I don't know. No doubt cut off by one of those Earthlings." King Scary said.

Goku seemed to wake up. "Yes, it ^was^ cut off, and I am glad, because it was dangerous!" He said. I looked at him, shocked. It wasn't like Goku to burst out like that.

"Dangerous! Shimatta, fool! It made you powerful!" Vegeta said.

"It was! The moon is much more visible on Earth than here, and besides, he doesn't have to fight anybody!" I yelled back. King Scary apparently wanted to let his son handle this.

"Shut up, girl. What do you know? You are just a stupid human!" Vegeta shot back.

"I know a lot more than you, monkey boy!" I said, putting my hands on my hips.

We glared at each other a little more, and King Scary decided to butt in. "That is enough, both of you! You, girl, should learn to treat royalty better." He sneered, and Vegeta glared at me still. I glared back.

Goku put his hand on my arm. "Bulma, we are gonna get in trouble." He warned in a whispering voice. I nodded reluctantly.

"Well, now that wasn't so hard." King Scary said."Now, guards, take them to their chambers." He turned back down the hall, and Vegeta followed him, but not before he managed to glare at me. I glared back.

The guards turned down the opposite hallway. Goku and I followed. When we came out in a long hallway with many rooms on either side, guard stopped.

"Bulma! Over here!" A voice called. I turned around. Lela was standing outside one of the rooms. "Let's share!" She said, I smiled at her.

"Hey..." Goku said, looking abandoned. He went to get the room next to us, but the guard stopped him.

"Boys across the hall." He said, and left us to pick our rooms.

I ran to Lela and gave her a big hug. "Yes! I am glad you got us a room." I said gratefully.

She smiled at me and nodded. "Let's go see all the stuff in the rooms." She said, and I followed her into the room eagerly.

The room was huge, with two beds beside each other. There was a bathroom, a mirror with a dresser, and some chairs around a small table. On one side, there was a large window, exposing a great view of the greehouse type-thing below. Some people were walking around, talking to each other, or studying the nature. People were starting to leave, for it was dark out already.

In the dresser, there were clothes for both of us. Some stuff for our hair was sitting on the top, and there was soap and shampoo in the bathroom, next to the tub. It really was a pretty room.

I unwrapped my bundle of dirty clothes. Lela came next to me and looked at them curiously.

"Are these the clothes you came in?" She asked, looking at them.

"Yes. I wanted something to remember my old life by." I said, holding the precious material.

"Oh, that is a good idea. They took all my old stuff!" She sadly said.

"They were the only thing I have left of anything." A tear rolled down her cheek, and I wiped it away.

"Don't cry. It will make you feel worse." I said gently, and led her to the beds. Some nightclothes were on each bed. We put them on slowly and crawled into our beds.

All through the night, I could hear her crying softly, until I slowly drifted off to a disturbed, restless sleep.

I sat in the greenhouse area outside our room. Everything was dark around me. The air was cool, and I shivered in my short black dress. I was considerably older, seventeen maybe. My hair was really long, cascading to my slim waist. I was cold, and shivering.

Somehow, I was scared. Someone was chasing me. I had the feeling of being intently watched, and I covered myself with my arms more. My dress wasn't conservative.

A rustling came from the bushes behind me, and I was enveloped in raw fear. I shot up and ran as fast as I could in my bare, swollen feet. I had to practically hold my dress down as I ran. I didn't know who was chasing me, but whoever it was, they were evil. I took a risk and looked behind me.

Vegeta was fastly gaining on me. I screamed and ran faster than ever before, my feet killing the whole way. I knew I couldn't last much longer at all. I looked back again, and he was laughing at me. I flipped him off maniacally and ran some more.

Why was I here with ^him^? Was the thing on my mind. My lungs felt as if they would burst any second now. My dress was running up my thighs despite my attempts to stop it. My hair floated behind me, and my feet burned. I couldn't hold up much longer. . .

I came to a small river imiatiton and fell. My legs literally collapsed beneath me. Then he was on me. . . .I screamed and woke up.
