Bulma's Life.....Like It Is! And What It Once Was...... They say that close friends are really hard to come by... I opened up my eyes reluctantly. The peace had filled me with a strange calmness, something that held little role in my life. I smiled and forced myself to get up. Most courts were held around five or so, and it was nearly 4:30 already. I walked slowly to my rooms, planning on what to wear. I had way too many things to choose from blindly, I thought, I had better wait till I saw them all. I arrived at my room, and opened the closet door. I had about a million dresses, all hung next to one another. Most I hadn't even worn, just had them around just in case. I didn't want to wear something too dressy, I would stick out. But semi-formal wasn't good enough. I took out my bag of Earth clothes and threw the contents on my bed, glancing over them. I saw some fitting shoes here and there, but no good dresses. If only I had gotten that beautiful one from Gucci...too late now. I finally picked out one of my Saiyan dresses. It was black with dark red trimmings, on the ends of the bell sleeves, around the plunging neckline, and around the bottom, which fell into a pool around my feet. I chose some black stilettos first, but after walking two steps, ruled them out and picked some black pumps instead. For my hair, I pinned most of it up and let some trendils fall around my face, a classic look that I liked. My makeup was easy, I just put on some black eyeliner and blush, as well as clear lip gloss. I didn't want to look trashy with too much. I winked at my reflection and walked out of the room, walking slowly, I still had ten minutes, and besides, it was every girl's dream to be fashionably late. Some nobles passed me, a few nodding or waving hello. I waved and nodded back and continued on my way. The halls were dimly lit, and I remembered Vegeta and I hiding in them as children, scaring all passerby's. I smiled at the sweet memory and was disappointed when I finally arrived at the ball room. I pushed open the doors and looked around inside. It was really crowded, Saiyans and visitors alike all around, arguing and talking pleasantly, something you didn't see everyday. I saw Vegeta arguing to some random alien, of whom looked angry. I could see that Vegeta was ready to loose his temper. I walked a little closer to them so I could eavesdrop without being seen or heard. "...That girl is the key to getting what we want! Earth is the most wanted planet right now, Vegeta-sama, and trust me, we all want our share," The alien said in a low voice. "I know that, baka! The woman is staying *here* and I have made up my mind! She is living here and therefore makes her ours. She will be used to our advantages, not yours," Vegeta growled, and the alien narrowed his eyes. Vegeta did so also, and began to power up. "You challenge me, fool?!" The alien smirked and also began to power up. I decided that I wasn't worth someone's death, so I stepped in cautiously. "Sorry to break it up, but I believe that I will stay on whoever's side I want!" I said, and glared at the alien, who looked surprised at my boldness. "Ha, bakayaro now get out of my sight before I decide you aren't worth my mercy," Vegeta said, and scowled as the alien stomped away. "What the hell was that about?" I asked, crossing my arms. Vegeta frowned. "Nothing," He said. "I could hear you two fighting over who I am going to help in taking Earth, and here is my answer: no one!! I am not going to help anyone!" I said, and walked off, in towards the sides of the room, where food and beverages were. Vegeta followed me. "That is for me to decide, not you." I glared at him and grabbed a glass of wine. I handed one to him also and continued on, looking at all the food with a critical eye. I wasn't even hungry. "I think that is wrong. You should at least realize that I am my own person," I pointed out, and turned to face him. He had a stubborn look on his face, one that told me that he wasn't about to give in without a good fight. I sighed and looked up at him. "Listen, Vegeta. I know how much you want to take Earth, and I understand your reasoning. But Earth *was* my home, no matter how unobvious that is. I will have no part in seeing it destroyed and the people killed," I said boldly, and lifted my head a little higher. Vegeta narrowed his eyes dangerously. "You will do as I say. Besides, we already agreed on this, and I don't go back on bargains," He said, his voice dangerously low. I narrowed my own eyes, challenging him to cross me. As usual, he rose to the occasion. "So I guess that means that I am your little *slave*, right?" I asked sarcastically. "Well, then. I guess it is the ghettos next." "If that is your wish. Personally, I prefer furnishings and sevice," He said, and smirked, breaking the challenging mood. I was almost disappointed. He was almost the only person to challenge my own sharp tounge and temper. I laughed and shook my head. "I believe that I won that one, Your Majesty!" Vegeta had the faintest twinkle of amusement in his eyes, yet that annoying smirk was still on his face. He really was too stubborn for his own good, one of these days it would backfire on him, causing a small or even large disaster. I felt a smirk on my own face. "You *believe* that. You see, really, I did, because I was the one to end it on a good insult," He said, and turned away from me, towards the exit. "I have to get back to my *royal duties*..." He said, and I waved at him as he left. ~*~ My high heels clicked on the marble floor of the throne room as I sauntered up to the throne, where Vegeta was angrily signing some papers, ones that looked quite important to me. I cleared my throat as I drew nearer and he looked up, then back down. "Vegeta," I said, crossing my arms. "Why was I never told that Goku, Yamcha, and Chichi were on the planet?" I asked. I had just found out earlier this morning, from two guards, who were gossiping about how 'Kakkarott' had been seen, with two others. My heart had leaped, and I was forever grateful that they hadn't gotten hurt. Poor Goku, he really had no idea what he was screwing with. And all Yamcha wanted was his friend, or rather, his wanted girlfriend, and Chichi, well...who knew Chichi's reasons? Vegeta looked up, looking somewhat surprised and somewhat smug. "The baka was seen yesterday, somewhere in one of the cities. He isn't worth wasting my breath on," Vegeta said, and went back to his papers. I bristled and glared at him slightly. "I care! He is my *friend*, Vegeta, the best one I had ever had. I haven't had the chance for decent conversation with him since I was six years old! This is almost ten years now." Vegeta looked up, rolled his eyes, and looked back down. This set me off, I cared about *his* problems, I felt I should get the exact same thing back! I stomped over to him and grabbed the papers from his hands. He looked up, anger on his face. "What the hell?" He exclaimed, and went to grab them, but I stepped a couple feet back, holding the papers out of his reach. "I have listened to you, I think it is your turn to do the same for me," I said, a little quieter, and held his gaze until my eyes burned. Someone came in through the doors, and our stare-off was interupted, Vegeta looked to the person. "Vegeta-sama, I have news," The Saiyan behind me said, and bowed deeply to his knees to show respect. Vegeta raised an eyebrow and stood. "Go on," He said. "Kakkarott has been captured, along with two other humans, and are being taken here immediatly," The burly man said, and bowed again before walking away. I glanced at Vegeta in disbelief. He stared back, the smallest tinge of regret in his black eyes. I lifted my chin and let my eyes go sad. He had really done it this time. "You bastard," I said, and walked from the room, dropping the papers on my way out. ~*~ REEEEEOWWWWW Bulma is mad now!! Who knows what she will do?? ::cough cough:: besides me, of course! Ah hahah well tell me what you think, and ja ne!! b e a u t i f u l :: i r o n y
