BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Vegeta lightly moaned. "Alarm clock," she says. "It wakes me up," she says. "I NEED it," she says. Damn it all, the piece of shit was plain out annoying. Vegeta pulled the pillow over his head. It never went on for much longer than usual, even when she was running late.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
The sounds drilled through Vegeta's ears like there was no tomorrow.
"Woman!" Vegeta groaned, lifting his hand up to blast the alarm to smithereens. He stopped, however, remembering when she never shut up last time he did so. Instead, he blindly searched for her, to gently shake her awake. Still having his head under the soft pillow, he felt something. It was too cold to be Bulma though. Vegeta looked up finally to see what was going on and what kind of prank this was.
"What the…?" Vegeta shot out of bed faster than lightning. Her examined her closely. "What kind of fucked up joke is this?" he screamed, waking up Trunks and Bra, whom tried to sleep in. (Tried being the keyword) Vegeta placed a gentle hand on her and traced around her frail body. Her face was noticeably white, her skin unusually icy. Vegeta knew in the tip, deepest depths of his mind what happened. He shoved it back even farther. No way… just no way…
"Wake up!" He shouted at her lifeless body. "Wake the hell up, damnit!" He said even louder, (as if that were possible.) He shook her body harder and harder, but nothing happened. She was like a wilted flower, forever dead and expired. "Fuck…" he cursed somewhat silently. He limply fell to his knees on the floor next to her on the bed. He bent his head down in pitiful defeat.
"What's up with dad?" Bra murmured as she tiredly walked into the kitchen desperately seeking Java.
Trunks' face was unreadable. He had only heard his father use that tone when fighting, and extremely angry. "Aw shit, something's up…" he whispered and floated up the stairs until he reached his parents room. Bra doubted it, and heated up her coffee.
"Stunts my growth my ass…" She grumbled tiredly, remembering when her mother told her not to have so much caffeine at such a young age.
"Hey, dad, what's up?" Trunks sad in mid-air. Vegeta stood up, his back to his son. To Trunks, it looked as if he were moving closer to him. Then, instantly he flew out the window, shattering it into pieces.
"Um… dad?" Trunks dropped and stood on the ground while going into the bedroom. "Hey mom, wake-up, dad is- huh?" Trunks lightly shook his mothers' body, which was devoided of life.
"Holy shit- Bra!" Trunks called behind him, growing pale. He wasn't prepared for this.
"What…?" she grumpily said, taking another sip out of her coffee.
"You're never going to believe this," Trunks said stepping back.

"We're here today, to honor Bulma Briefs, whom was a loving mother of two, and friend to us all…" the old man never stopped.
It was another gloomy morning. It drizzled on and off and there was no sun in sight. Standing in the wet grass, everyone who knew Bulma Briefs, or most everyone, stood near her grave, no one without a tear in their eye.
Trunks was in a black suit, standing closest to his mothers' casket. He couldn't help it, all he thought about was all the times he had disobeyed her. He knew she meant well, and now he was completely drowned in guilt. All the times she'd try to get his to work, get used to it, she'd always say "Someday Trunks, I won't be here. Would you be able to keep this place up?" Trunks never took her seriously. He always thought she would be there for him, like she was when he was younger. She'd be at his wedding, see his kids, always be there to back him up, tell him what he was doing wrong, being there for him. 'I miss you mom,' he said over and over in his head. He refused to believe she was gone.
Soon, Trunks began to think of his father. Ever since the incident that morning two days ago, Vegeta was gone. 'I know he won't be supportive… weather he loves us or not…' Trunks sighed. His mothers' casket was already in the ground, and her threw red roses in. They were her favorite. Bra stepped beside Trunks.
"I love you mom…" she whispered, tears streaming down her face continuously. Trunks realized he had a tear go down his face as well. He whipped it off. Soon, he looked around at other people throwing in flowers. ChiChi-san was there, along with Goten, Parisu, Gohan, Videl, Pan, and even Marron and Juuhachi-gou were there. Most to Trunks surprise, Piccolo, Dende, and Mr. Popo were even there. 'I haven't talked to them in so long…' he thought. He felt a light tap on his shoulder.
"Huh?" he turned around to see Goten.
"Hey man, she was cool." He said managing a smile. Trunks also smiled and gave Goten a small, friendly hug.
"She was…" he found himself saying.
"Hey Trunks, you're alright?" Gohan came next to Trunks and Goten. "Your mom was great, but I'm sure you knew that." Gohan looked back one last time at her grave. He thought of how he grew up with her, his father, and the others. She was bossy, true, but she had done a lot too. What he remembered most was Namek and the Saiyaman costume back in High School. If it weren't for that he wouldn't have known Videl. Videl and Pan soon joined him. Pan had her arms crossed, refusing to shed a tear. 'I won't cry like a kid…' she kept telling herself. Too bad, soon enough she was crying almost as much as Bra. Videl comforted her.
"Hi guys…" Marron softly said to Trunks and Goten.
"Hey Marron, how are you doing?" Trunks said, trying to cheer himself up.
"I've been fine, thanks. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. Feel better, alright?" She gave Trunks and Goten a pat on the shoulder before going to talk to Bra.
"Hey Bra. You alright?" Marron still was calm and soft. Bra turned around, she wasn't smiling.
"She never got to see me go to my senior prom, or watch me graduate, or get married…" Bra started to cry some more. She couldn't help it, her mom was gone. Forever. Marron took Bra's head and rested it against her shoulder. Bra just cried on and on. "She planned out my entire dress for my prom too. It was really pretty…" she managed through tears. Marron slowly patted her head.
"Marron? Could you come home with me? Please?" Bra pleaded.
"Sure, Bra. No problem. Come on, do you want to leave now?" Marron suggested. Bra just nodded, and started to cry again. Not as loudly, however.
"Goten, one small favor. I need to find my dad, it's important. Could you and Gohan help me?" Trunks asked, his head down.
"Sure." Goten said. He never liked mushy and sad moments, but life was life.

Vegeta didn't know how long ago it was. That terrible, terrible thing. When his life ended completely. He wasn't sure quite how much more of this he could take. First bald-ie, then Kakkorotto, now her? His soulmate and lover? It was too much. Way, way too much. Vegeta hadn't eaten in a long time, but he didn't care. He could starve himself to death for all he cared. It'd be better that way, wouldn't it? To be dead. Ah yes, dead. Such a small word, and yet such a powerful and cruel meaning. He could do it, self-destruct. No one could stop him. He was the strongest living being alive, and he felt like the most vulnerable object in the cosmos. Death didn't sound too bad after all. He could do it right now, and that would be it. Why shouldn't he? There was nothing left to live for.
No, maybe there was. Vegeta thought of his son and daughter. They're all he had left. Two children of Bulma's was all he had left. He looked back at the time when she was talking about not being there for them. She wanted him to be with them until they grew older and had families. Maybe then he could join her once more. Maybe.
"I-," Vegeta paused. He was about to say something he never said in his entire life. "I love you, woman." He closed his eyes. Damn humans! Fuck all the goddamn humans! They had to be so weak! Can't even live long!
Vegeta stopped. He knew well that it wasn't her fault. Or the rest of the pathetic human race for that matter. Speaking of pathetic humans, he did leave the two children alone… for how long now? A day? A week? A month? Vegeta didn't know. He felt the need though, to go back home. Go back home and do what Bulma wanted. For him to be a real father. It can't be too hard, even Kakkorotto can do it, so why can't he?

"Man, I have to go, sorry. I'm sure he'll turn up soon, honestly." Goten said.
"Yea, so I hope…" Trunks found himself wondering what did his mother see in his father. "See you later Goten, bye Gohan!" Trunks said waving good-bye. He had a small flashback.
"Momma?" he looked up at her.
"Yes sweetheart?" she looked down seeing her sons' irritated face.
"Why is dad never around? Doesn't he like us?" Trunks asked, seeing his father fly off again, not to come back until months later.
"He loves us, Trunks. He's just not the person to show it, but he really does. Trust me." She smiled and gave Trunks a hug. "I'm sorry homey, I know it's hard. Someday, your father will admit he loves you very much." Trunks hugged back, still gazing at the dying away figure of his father…
(End flashback)
"Trust me." Trunks repeated. "Famous last words," he said aloud.
"What was that?" Marron came out of nowhere, getting some water for Bra no doubt.
"You're still here? Geez, is Bra okay?" Trunks looked behind him, where Marron stuck her head in the refrigerator for water. 'Now Bra is losing it too…So much for keeping the family together. ' He thought.
"Don't worry about her, she'll be fine. I went through the same thing with my father, I know how it is," Marron said before heading back to Bra's room.
"Why me?" Trunks moaned.
"Why what?" a rude voice growled.
"Dad?" Trunks didn't believe his eyes when he turned again to see non-other than Vegeta in his most-famous pose with arms crossed. He looked pretty upset as well.
"What's it to you?" he snarled. He shook his head. "So, where's your sister?" he almost attempted to be nice, but it didn't necessarily work.
"In her room with Marron, who is calming her down." Trunks said, tired. His father just "hmphed" and left to his room.
"Damn, this family is going to the pits…" Trunks murmured.

"Trunks?" Bra tiptoed to the large living room, where Trunks was watching music videos on TV.
"You're feeling better?" Trunks said not wanting to turn around.
"Yea, but why is dad acting so strange? I never known him to be so… cold…" she said, looking back at her parents room, where Vegeta locked himself in.
"He used to be like that all the time. It's not as bad as he used to, actually. Mom used to tell me about how he was when she first saw him when he came to earth and on that planet whatever. He killed Piccolo-san, Tien-san, Chaouzu-san, and Yamcha-san. Mom also told me he destroyed things for no apparent reason, other than the fact they were there. She didn't like seeing him crack peoples' heads or anything" Trunks said, his voice still monotone. He felt like a zombie. Earlier that evening, he looked at some, just SOME of the work his mother left in her office. Just a couple papers made him queasy. He turned up the volume to the latest Limp Bizkit had to offer to soothe his headache.
Bra cringed at the obnoxious noise of rock. Why did her brother like that crap? What was so bad about Backstreet Boys? Nsync? "Really? Dad did that? Yeah, right. Nice story Trunks, I'm not impressed." Bra never got to hear these stories of her fathers' past, not much of her mothers either. All she knew was that her dad was of a different race, and fought a lot. She didn't believe her own father was once more evil than hell itself. Sure, he killed a couple, maybe four people but…
"Believe whatever you damn well please. If you're just going to bother me, go away." Trunks obviously was a little cranky.
"Trunks, it's past midnight, and correct me if I'm wrong, but you have Capsule Corp work tomorrow for the first time." She glowered. She knew all to well how much her brother hated to work.
"Go away." Trunks still had his head glued to the TV. Bra frowned at the two empty beer bottles next to him she just noticed.
"Hey, didn't you have a date earlier?" she thought aloud. Trunks shot up to his feet and checked his watch.
"Shit! I KNEW I forgot something! Aw man, I hope Vanessa isn't mad… damnit! Why me?" he glided down back to the couch, realizing it was too late, their date was at six, Bra had a point, it was well past midnight.
"Good night. Would you like me to get you up early for work?" she insulted. Trunks glared at her. "Fine then, be that way." She turned around and walked to her room, stopping by her parents' room first. 'It could be worse…' she thought. 'Trunks couldn't be able to handle beer and then because he's drunk he probably would've blast planet Earth to smithereens of depression…'
"Night, dad." She softly said. She heard her father murmur, but didn't hear what he said. Bra sighed and went to her room to go to sleep. School tomorrow would not be easy.
"Man, what's happening to us?" Trunks moaned. He threw one of the empty beer bottles to the wall and watched it explode into millions of tine pieces he would have to clean up later.
