I've never flamed anyone, but I've recieved a couple. In almost all of them, the flamers sounded like complete idiots. In order to save anymore of them from wasting their time by sending people crap that doesn't offer anything, I thought I'd offer some advice to them.
This is an old flame I recieved a year ago for my last site. My thoughts are posted in italics:

Looks like Trowa got hit on the head pretty hard a couple of times because that is a very unTrowa-like thing to say...Oh, and isn't is bandwidth?

-First of all, if you are going to flame someone, why would you leave your sites URL? As you can see they didn't post their email because, I assume at least, they don't want me to email them, but they leave their URL which I can easily click on to send me to their site and find their email address anyway. I did that by the way... Umm, someone didn't think that through all the way now did they? Although, it is true that they could have just put anyone's site there, but that would just prove immaturity of this person.
-What was with the comments? They were basically like "Your site sucks! Keep working on it!" Okay, could you tell me exactly what sucks so I can work on making it better? What's the point of even leaving a comment like that if it doesn't offer any helpful advice? This is just my opinion, but a flame should offer at least the same amout of advice as insults. That way the time you took to read the fiction won't be a waste and you'll help to improve someone's writing skills.
-Oh, and it would be smart to check the spelling of your comment before posting it so you don't come off as less intelligent, not that this person didn't by posting the immature comment that they did anyway... Also, they say that a person's intelligence is shown in their writing, so it would be in your best interest as the flamer to not send something stupid like "ur site sux." You will just be dismissed as an idoit. Remember, you don't want to make yourself sound worse than the person you're flaming.
-If you don't look through a site, how did they know it sucked? Before you even consider flaming someone at least look through 3/4 of the site. You could find something that you really like somewhere in there.
-Always remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that includes you, so just because someone has a site that you don't like doesn't mean you have to start an argument with them. All you have to do is simply close the window and go to another site.
