- Before the intro in the dub, the “tales of the Moon Kingdom” played in Episode 1 is replayed here. All the lines are redubbed, and Queen Serenity’s voice artist is different than in Episode 1. All the lines are the same up until “…the queen sent the Princess and the children of the moon to the future on Earth”, when these lines are added: “But their peace was not to last. The evil Queen Beryl followed them, and in a fantastic battle Sailor Moon banished Beryl back to the Negaverse. But all Sailor Moon's memories of that heroic fight were lost, and now she's just a normal teenager, but not for long. The Negaforce is already sending an evil new enemy to Earth. And so, our story begins…”
- In addition, when the above dialogue is spoken, the scene where Moon defeats Beryl is played. In this version, however, instead of saying “Cosmic Moon Power!” as she fires the energy like she did in Episode 46’s dub, she says “Moon Prism Power!”, which is what she was SUPPOSED to say in 46’s dub (it’s what the Japanese Sailor Moon says)
- 2:41-2:51 – After Usagi storms out of the house, late again, Artemis looks up at birds flying in the sky…
> Artemis: “Hey, Luna…”
> Luna: “What?”
[leaning on Luna with an embarrassed look on his face]
> Artemis: “Why don’t we also…”
[Luna backs away]
> Luna: “What? What are you doing?! Pervert!”
[Luna scratches Artemis’ face]
[shot of Artemis screaming from the pain on the roof]
- 3:01-3:48 – It’s a shot of the school! Haruna’s mad about something…
> Haruna: “Go stand outside!”
[Usagi carries a bucket of water on her head]
> Teacher: “Then, Ami-san, take care of it.”
> Ami: “Yes.”
[Ami is coming out of a classroom and sees Usagi, then wipes her eyes with a cloth]
> Ami: “Are you being punished again?”
> Usagi: “You’re that whiz kid from Class 5! I wish the cold-hearted Haruna could be more like you…”
> Haruna: “Who is cold-hearted?!”
[she comes out into the hall]
> Haruna: “Mizuno Ami-san, correct?”
> Ami: “Yes.”
> Haruna: “Nothing good will happen if you get involved with Miss Tsukino.
[she turns to face Haruna with the bucket still on her head]
> Usagi: “Hey! Are teachers allowed to say things like that?!”
[the bucket becomes unstable…]
[cut to shot of Ami looking shocked]
[Haruna is drenched! The class looks on]
[sound of three tones as Haruna gets extremely angry]
[shot of the outside of the school shaking]
> Haruna: “MISS TSUKINO!!!”
[a bubble of Usagi appears outside the school]
> Usagi: “Sorry! This is a bit depressing…”
- At 5:40, 2 seconds of the Japanese poster Usagi steps on at the big hole is shortened.
- The dub Ail and Ann say that Queen Beryl said Earth was worth attacking. Nothing of the sort was said in the original…
- In the original, Ail is in 9th grade and Ann is in 8th, but the dub changes this to 10th and 9th, respectively.
- 14:42-14:44 – Vampire, the Cardian in this episode, wraps its tentacles around Naru’s neck and body.
- In the original, Luna comments on Vampire and other monsters attacking Naru: “Why do they always steal energy from her? Unbelievable!”
- The dub speeds up the scene where Vampire smashes through a window of Naru’s room while chasing Artemis away from Usagi.
- The dub calls the beam of light shot from Luna’s crescent moon mark the “Luna Mind Meld”. Laaaaaaaaame...It had no name originally.
- While Usagi is getting her memories back, scenes from Episode 46 are played, including Mamoru getting speared in the back by Beryl. The dub forgets that they cut that from their dub and leaves it in on this one, oops…
- 17:32-17:36 - …However, they do cut out the flashback shots of each Senshi in their ice tomb, which was also cut in the dub of Episode 46.
- At 17:51, after the flashbacks, the dub adds a few more seconds of Luna’s beam of light before Usagi truly reawakens as Sailor Moon. In the original, the first shot after the flashback is Usagi’s face jolting up with tears flying out.
- 18:18-18:19 – Usagi’s original transformation phrase, of course, includes “Make Up!” at the end. The dub always cuts these two words out. In this scene, a closeup of her face while saying “Make Up!” is cut.
- 19:20 – Vampire’s vines get Artemis by the neck and body!
