- 2:11-3:10 – Big cut! Usagi is late for school. She runs down the hall, only to run smack into Umino. Dialogue:

>> Usagi: “Ahhh, I’m late again!”
[Umino comes out into the hallway right in front of her]

>> Usagi: “Woah! Look out!”
>> Umino: “Who is it?”

[they smash into each other]
>> Naru: “Are you okay?”
>> Usagi: “That hurt…”
>> Umino: “…sorry.”

>> Usagi: “Oh, what happened to our homeroom class?”
>> Umino: “Oh, Ms. Haruna isn’t here today, so even first period is study hall.”
>> Usagi: “So that’s it! …I wish I’d had another bowl of rice…”

>> Naru: “Umino, give it back.”
>> Umino: “What? But…”
>> Naru: “I’ll give it to you when I finish it properly, okay?”
>> Umino: “Well, if you say Naru-chan.”

[he pulls some string-like objects out]
>> Usagi: “Eh, what’s that?”
>> Naru: “It’s a promise ring.”
>> Usagi: “Eh?”

>> Umino: “Usagi-san, you don’t know what a promise ring is?”
>> Usagi: “Pro-wrestling?”

[NOTE: In Japanese there is no real difference between Rs and Ls. “Promise Ring” is pronounced “pu-ro-me-su-ri-n-gu”, and Usagi misinterprets it as “Pro-wrestling” which is pronounced “pu-ro-re-su-ri-n-gu” - only one letter is different between them, the R vs. the M]
[Usagi imagines a wrestling match, Naru flips Umino over]

>> Usagi: “Ecchi…” [kinky/naughty]
>> Umino and Naru: “This is no good…”

- 7:18-7:23 – After sending her Droid off, Emerald is shown floating high above a road saying “And I want to bury my face in [Prince Diamond’s] arms…”

- In the original, when the class is over, Usagi doesn’t want to read the book that goes with it. In the dub, she says it looks so easy because the teacher is the expert.

- In the original, it doesn’t seem like the rings the Droid throws at the Senshi actually do anything (she says the name of what rings she throws, and what circumstances they would be good for use in, like a failed love). In the dub, they change something about oneself (like never having good friends, never having a true love, making friends enemies). In addition, the Droid in the original said “ring” after every sense, kind of like a quirk.

- This episode marks the first instance in the dub in which the word “Sailor Soldiers” (Sailor Senshi) is uttered! This time it’s done by Tuxedo Mask: “Sailor Soldiers, we must fight together…for the mission.”

- After the battle when Usagi runs off to see Mamoru, the dub ruins it by adding this line from Luna: “Serena, just don’t trip and fall…” In the original, Luna said “Usagi, good luck!”
