- 2:48-3:22 – Usagi is woken up from her dream by something cold…and Luna is woken up too.
> Luna: “What’s wrong? What are you yelling about in the middle of the nig...”
> Luna: “EH?!”
> [shot of a wet spot on Usagi’s bed!]
> Luna: “U-u-Usagi-chan…you…it can’t be…”
> [Usagi is scared]
> Luna: “You’re in eight grade already, right?”
> [Usagi is scared, sweat drops increasing]
> Luna: “You’re in the eight grade and you still wet… wet… wet… wet… wet… wet… wet…wet your bed?” [sweatdrops are increasing on Luna as well]
> [Usagi is scared]
Luna: “Unbelievable! How embarrassing!”
> [Usagi is scared, but then sees the sheets moving; this is where the dub comes back in]
- 3:26-3:30 – The covers are pulled off…revealing Chibiusa with soiled pajamas!
- Wiseman’s dub voice has changed again, and is still not his final voice (the one used in the last 14 episodes)
- 5:36-5:38 – A closeup of Usagi hitting the sheets that Chibiusa wet with a tool, probably to dry it faster. The only part cut is where you can see the wet spot, so the dub is able to show Serena hitting it from another angle (no wet spot visible) and have Sammy (Shingo) call it chores.
- SCENE SHORTENER: Chibiusa comes out of the house.
- This is at 6:01-6:04 – it shows Chibiusa staring at Usagi for a while before running away.
- 7:24-7:43 – In the flashback to the future, Chibiusa remembers that she wet her future bed too, and we see her looking really sad about it. We see a pan up Neo-Queen Serenity's body. The dub has Rini talking about being lonely instead.
- The dub adds a border around Chibiusa’s flashback, and also around the flashback to Episode 64.
- This is weird. When Luna jumps up in Koan’s face, Koan flings her off, but falls down in the process. Luna-P then knocks Beruche down, and Chibiusa runs away. We see Luna hit the fence a good 13 seconds after Koan tosses her in the original. A shifting of scenes occurs here, and it’s for the better.
> Original
>> Luna attacks Koan
>> Koan flings her off
>> Koan falls down, Chibiusa runs off
>> Beruche taunts Koan, then is knocked down by Luna-P
>> Shot of Chibusa running away
>> Luna hits the fence
> Dub
>> Luna attacks Koan
>> Koan flings her off
>> Luna hits the fence
>> Koan falls down, Chibiusa runs off
>> Beruche taunts Koan, then is knocked down by Luna-P
>> Shot of Chibusa running away
- Luna-P’s dub voice is finally Sailor Pluto’s dub voice. Before this, it was Luna’s voice. In the original, Luna-P nor Chibiusa mention the future nor Crystal Tokyo. Usually I don’t do dialogue by this is so different. Here’s a wall of text:
> Original
[Chibiusa pushes the Luna-P button]
>> Chibiusa: “Puu…” [Chibiusa’s nickname for Pluto]
>> Luna-P: “What’s the matter? You’re crying, aren’t you?”
>> Chibiusa: “Puu…”
>> Luna-P: “You shouldn’t cry. You’re a strong girl, aren’t you?”
>> Chibiusa: “No, I’m scared Puu!”
>> Luna-P: “Be strong. You have powerful allies.”
>> Chibiusa: “I don’t have anyone like that…”
>> Usagi: “What? Is she talking to someone?”
>> Luna-P: “Haven’t the Sailor Warriors always helped you in the past?”
>> Chibiusa: “But they’re much stronger…But mom…my mom…”
>> Chibiusa: “Look at what they did to her! Even dad couldn’t beat them!”
>> Luna-P: “Don’t you remember when you were very young? Don’t you remember those warriors who always looked after you in the future city?”
>> Luna-P: “Those warriors are still fighting to protect Crystal Tokyo. And also the world you are in now. Believe in Sailor Moon and those warriors. I’m sure they will help you.”
[Luna-P flickers out]
>> Chibiusa: “Puu!”
>> Usagi: “I get it…those guys got Chibiusa’s mom…”
> Dub
>> Rini: “What should I do, Luna Ball?”
>> Luna Ball: “Hi, Rini:.”
>> Rini: “Hi.”
>> Luna Ball: “What's the matter, pumpkin? You been crying?”
>> Rini: “I'm so lonely.”
>> Luna Ball: “But Rini, honey, you've made a lot of nice friends here.”
>> Rini: “I'm scared. Weird ladies are chasing me.”
>> Luna Ball: “From the Negamoon. They want to change the future so they can take over Crystal Tokyo.”
>> Rini: “But what am I supposed to do? I haven't found the Crystal or my mother.”
>> Luna Ball: “You're going to have to keep trying, Rini. I know it's tough for such a little girl.”
>> Rini: “Yeah, but Serena, the girl I've been staying with, totally hates me.”
>> Rini: “I can't stand it anymore. Can't I come home without the Crystal? I miss everybody so much!”
>> Luna Ball: “No, Rini:. It's safer for you to be here, where the Sailor Scouts can protect you, like they do in the future.”
>> Luna Ball: “Don't you remember, little princess? In the future, they're the female warriors who always protect you and are your loyal and true friends. Those warriors are the Sailor Scouts, the same ones who protect you here. They're fighting for a peaceful future, just as we are. You must put your trust in them and Sailor Moon. If you want to see your mother again, you must remain here.”
>> Luna Ball: “It's the only way.”
[Luna-P flickers out]
>> Rini: “Don't go!”
>> Serena: “This must mean that Rini's a princess. Then her mother would be…”
- In the dub, Catsy introduces herself as the oldest. In the original, she’s the youngest; Petz is the oldest, followed by Calaveras and Beruche.
- 16:18-16:22 – Right after the four other Sailor Senshi arrive but before they begin fighting, Sailor Moon goes “Everyone!” and a closeup on Chibiusa’s frightened face is shown.
- Song
> Original: “Ai no Senshi” (“A Soldier’s Love”), which is played right after the four other Senshi arrive, right before the battle with the Ayakashi Sisters begins.
> Dub: “She’s Got the Power”, which starts playing as Rubeus gathers his energy to throw at Sailor Moon.
- In the original, once “Ai no Senshi” begins, no voices are heard at all until Rubeus arrives. In the dub, they grunt while fighting, and then Sailor Moon says “They need my help, but I can’t leave Rini…” before energy is fired toward her. This is subtle but ruins the mood.
- When Sailor Moon is flung against a wall by Rubeus’ attack, she has flashbacks of various Chibiusa antics. One of them is of the wet spot on the bed, which is kept in the dub.
- Song Endings
> Original: “Ai no Senshi” ends right after Tuxedo Mask stops Rubeus’ energy bombs with his roses and they explode in mid-air.
> Dub: “She’s Got the Power” ends after Sailor Moon has used “Moon Scepter Elimination” and Rubeus plus the Ayakashi Sisters have retreated
- Another dialogue butchering…after Rubeus and the Sisters are gone, Sailor Moon plays 20 Questions with Chibiusa in the original, but not in the dub…wall of text time!
> Original:
>> Usagi: “Hey, Chibiusa, please tell me the truth. You came from the future, right? What is the tenth planet? What is the clan of the Black Moon? So your mom was captured by them?”
[Chibiusa just looks at her, all teared up]
>> Chibiusa: “Sailor Moon!”
>> Chibiusa: “Mama…save my mama, Sailor Moon! Please save my mom from those bad guys! Puu said that Sailor Moon and the Sailor Warriors would help me! Please save my mom…”
>> Usagi: “Chibiusa…”
> Dub:
>> Sailor Moon: “You sure you're okay, Rini? That was scary stuff. You were really brave, you know that? But we're gonna keep a closer eye on you. The weird sisters mean serious business, and they're bound to come back again, but the Sailor Scouts will protect you.”
>> Rini: “You too?”
[Rini looks at her, all teared up]
>> Sailor Moon: “Of course me too, me most of all.”
>> Rini: “Sailor Moon…you saved me. Those ladies were gonna take me away…before I even found my mom. I can't go back without the crystal or finding out who my mom is…but I don't want them after me anymore.”
>> Sailor Moon: “Oh…it's okay. Go ahead and cry. We'll help you find your mother, Rini, and uh, we'll get you back to where you belong. I promise.”
- In the original, Wiseman says nothing about the picture of Neo Queen Serenity that appears before him. In the dub, he says Sailor Moon looks like Neo Queen Serenity and they Rini is her daughter, ruining big surprises later.
- The dub ends with a stripped background and lightning; the original just fades out.
