Geographical Locales of Eloria
The following is a brief description of the major geographical areas of the West.
The Nagrim Mountains- The northern mountains form an imposing barrier to the Northern Wastes and also separate the Middle Lands from the West. These are the tallest peaks in the West, with Mount Gorga in the crossroads of east and west, north and south. It is home to many goblins, trolls, wyverns, the odd demon and barbarian tribes. The snowstorms are terrible and there are places to cross the mountains, but the journey is fell and terrible. The only civilized force in these mountains is the nation of Hyborea.
The mountains are jagged and high, rising from the ground almost suddenly, as if the gods had newly raised them yesterday. They are rich in minerals and precious metals, but the hostile goblin tribes control these peaks and attack any interlopers.

Istari Mountains- These ancient and weathered peaks are said to be foothills of the once great Dragon Mountains, before the Dragon's fall from Heaven. These are the oldest peaks in the West and are lower than the Nagrim Mountains. However, snow caps these peaks year round but they are easier to traverse than their northern cousins. The Istari Mountains are home to ruined monuments, a few goblin tribes and the odd wyvern. The mines delve the deepest and fell things were awakened by the First Men.

Cairn Mountains- This small range of mountains borders the Andor Forest and is a war zone between the troll tribes and the men of the Nas Tirith. Undead roam these hills and fell beasts nest in its tall peaks. The old mines of the North Lands are still here, along with Asrail's open prison, for the old Kings of the North opened his tomb in their lust for silver and weapons of iron.

Tor Hills- These jagged hills form some part of the northern coast of the Dragon Sea and are a windbreak for the lands of Nas Tirith. It shelters the area from the worst weather and is rich in iron, copper and nickel. A few mines produce silver and gold. These hills are home to trolls and wyverns, so the cautious tread here.

Icari Jungles- The southern jungles are immense and dense. They are home to virulent diseases and monstrous races. Trolls, goblins, manticores and the draconic tribes all call Icari home. The jungle is strewn with many rivers but there are no less than seven great rivers. The coasts are somewhat colonized by the more civilized monster races but the heart belongs totally to the draconic men of Izuel. The jungle is bordered on the north by large rocky hills and a great marsh, which forms a partial barrier to the jungle's growth coupled with the poor soil.

Mir Forest- Ancient and bound by the Istari Mountains, this forest is dark and deep, with secrets that few have investigated. Legend claims the Great Elves of the West hid here during the War of the Gods and Demons, but no elf has been seen existing or entering this great wood. The men of Kyria harvest wood from its perimeter but few delve more than a mile into its heart. It is home to giant spiders, fell beasts and giant serpents.

Lorian Forest- This land was colonized by the ancient elven emperors from Chaldea after fleeing the turmoil of the southern continent. The elves maintain several forest roads and control much of the wood, but the goblin tribes of the Istar Mountains raid and try to push for control of the south. The forest is filled with both evergreen and deciduous, is home to the ironwood tree and is said to be the site of the First Tree. Great Trees, semi-sentient goliath trees, are remakably plentiful in this land. As such, faeries and other magical creatures seem drawn to this wood.

Kelaren Forest- This forest is spreading from the Nagrim Mountains  west, taking over some of the Dar Etan Plains. It is a mixture of conifer and deciduous, with great towering oaks forming the heart. It is home to many woodland creatures and is rife with small streams that lead to pools of water. It is home to many monstrous races, which have found refuge within its shaded boughs. The order of magic, known as The Elbern (or Hidden Ones), reside in the southern fringe of this land.

Andor Forest-
Far to the north lies this towering forest of northern trees. No one really knows how far north it extends along the Nagrim Mountains, but it is known that ashen skinned elves, trolls, giant spiders and demonic forces control this land. It is populated by monstrous creatures, such as the wyvern and snow manticore, dire wolves and giant raptors. The winters are terrible and ancient tombs sink into the land, for Andor was once great but now lies broken. The forest is littered with the old towns and villages of the North Kingdom. The kings of the North made raised their capital in this land, along the Andor River, but the kingdom fell to the demon Asrail. Some say he still sleeps in this forest, others claim he sits on the Lost Throne holding a demonic court and others dismiss the legend as myth and falsehood. What is known is that few outsiders survive long in this dark forest of magic and savage peoples. For more information, see Andor.
Dragon Sea- A violetn sea with numerous storms, legend calims the Dragon lays at the bottom, for the sea was formed by his fall from Heaven when the gods made war upon the Dragon and the Angel. All the great city states hug the coasts for the coastal lands are fertile adn the skies give forth rain in abundance. The Dragon Seas often become violent with savage hurricanes and storms that crash ships onto rocks and topple tower tops. The Dragon Sea is regularly cold and home to many great whales and is plentiful in fish. Few Sea Serpents wander the area, mostly from the northern waters to breed.

Inner Sea- This great body of water is peppered with tiny islands, some only a few hundred feet wide, which makes this area a haven for pirates. It is the ancient sea with the Khand Empire beyond. The coasts are fertile yet poor in mineral wealth. This sea is home to three known Krakens and its waters are traversed only by the intrepid and knowledgable. The waters are warm and are home to many great squids, whales, sea serpents and is plentiful in fish.

The Western Ocean- Beyond the Dragon Sea lies the great ocean, crossed only by the First Men in their giant ships, for no sailor has returned from trying to find the Undying Lands. The waters are cold and great creatures roam the ocean depths.

The Southern Ocean- This body of water is warmer and more plentiful in fish, but is also home to great krakens and other sea serpents. Across this ocean lies Chaldea, the southern land. Few in the west cross this ocean and only the Chaldean traders brave the journey.

Aranoch Wastes- A vast wasteland of rocky ground, seared grasslands and dune filled desert. No one from the West has crossed it since ancient Valyria fell to the god's vengeance. That demon haunted city was renamed Aranoch after the gods left it a smoking ruin. The sun is merciless and the land is rife with supernatural predators. Rumors abound of great serpents that tunnel beneath the dunes and of flying dragons grown lean for lack of prey. In the southwest of the wastes lay a great chasm where veiled men and women live. The Taurin claim ancestry with ancient Valyria but none know for sure. The chasm is the only known source of water in the waste aside from a few oasis spread thinly across the landscape.

Dar-Etan Plains- These vast grasslands are home to various tribes of Horsemen. These barbarian tribes roam the landscape, hunting caribou, deer, bison and all manner of bipeds, including other humans. The grasslands are fertile but the fierce tribes and deep aquifer  deter most kingdoms from expanding onto it. The soil is hard for traditional plows to break up for something the tribesmen call 'sod'. No one knows how many tribesmen populate this land, but there are over thirty separate nations roaming around, with their own dialect and customs. The plains are covered in waist high grasses and strewn with many small streams that feed the Dansig River, the Nagrim River and the many creeks of the Kelaren Forest. The southern part of the grasslands is entirely dominated by the Iron Horse tribe, fierce warriors who keep the Kehman road open with duties and who sell their services as mercenaries.
Northern Wastes- These immense snowfields stretch to the glaciers of the north is always cold. THe only things which travel this way are great herds of caribou, deer, direwolves and the frost wyverns. The elder dragons used to hunt this land but their smaller cousins have taken over in their abscence. There are a few tribes of men who eke out a living in this inhospitable land but they are reclusive and territorial. The Wargs of Andor roam this snowy landscape. There are also reports of Behemoths, large creatures with giant claws and reptilian features, that reside in giant ice caverns.

-The Dar-Etan Plains is a savage and wild land. In the distance are Blood Towers, used to hang interlopers from 40' high poles. Many gather to watch these executions.
The Outlands- Little is known of The Outlands nor what lies on the other side. Stories persist of jeweled cities on the far eastern coasts, but only a few robed strangers come from this waste, telling stories of war, impassable mountains, seared grasslands and trees of stone. They speak with a thick accent and most are reputed to be men of magic. There are native tribes living in this land, but they are deformed men, with club feet, misshapen faces and monstrous proportions. These people are called the Mutants.
-Strange winds often rise from these weird hills, The Outlands are rocky, hard and claim strange inhabitants.
