Star Systems |
The Velos Sector Located near the edge of the galactic rim, this section of space is far from traditional space lanes. The nearby Dragon Nebula distorts readings and hyperspace transmissions, which is one more reason most travelers ignore the system. There is a small Imperial outpost on the temperate world Velos (which is why the sector was named). Most of the sector is filled with debris and the remains of old stars (the gases from the nebula). In the Velos sector are four other solar systems of note- Eloria, Hel, Aquaris and Istaria. Both Eloria and Istaria are considered backwards people and host both humans and native populations. The worlds of Hel are barren though they do have ancient ruins scattered among the plateus. Aquaris is a water world with a few islands- a race of marine sentients inhabit the place- similar to the Quarren of Mon Calamar. Trade in the sector is sparse and limited to bringing refined material back towards the inner rim. Sightseeing is few, since hostile populations inhabit most of the livable worlds. In fact, the travel brochures in most agencies suggest this system not be visited even by dull Duros with a death wish. Natural Anomalies- periodically black holes will appear and dissappear in the space between the stars. No one really can explain this phenomenon nor does anyone really want to. Astrogate checks are DC 20 to navigate successfully between the stars. No one really can explain this phenomenon nor does anyone really want to. Astrogate checks are DC 20 to navigate successfully in this sector. There are also many deep space slugs in the asteroids, hordes of minochs and many interstellar creatures roaming the space ways. Velos System- A system of five planets orbiting a central yellow star. Velos 1- A mineral fireball orbiting close to Velos Star. Velos 2- A greenhouse planet with sulphuric storms and a blasted landscape. Velos 3- An inhabitable world, the main imperial outpost is here with various cities dotting the landscape. Mining and manufacturing are the prime industries. Considered a backwater post and not worth much more than a frazzled Moff with no real leadership qualities. Velos 4- A gas giant with possible atmospheric mining possibilites. Velos 5- A frozen world near the edge of the system, beyond most anything else. It is rumored to be the site of ancient ruins and a base for pirates. Most people think the tales are told to pass the time. This system is really dull. Hel System- The system of planetoids locked in orbit around an unstable white dwarf. The star that fueled this system underwent cataclysmic disruptions and blasted most of the once inhabited planets. The first two planets in the system are now part of an inner asteroid belt (destroyed when the yellow star changed to a white dwarf). Hel 3- A moderate gravity world (1.05 galactic standard gravity) with frozen plateaus and rocky mountain-scapes. The oceans have long since been vaporized and ice covers the entire planet. Ruins have been found by a few interested explorers, though most who visit the system sustain massive doses of cosmic radiation. It is rumored that strange mutants inhabit the subterranean cave system sprawling through the world. Hel 4- A gas giant with 30 orbiting planetoids and moons, some are habitable. Giant storms keep Hel 4 from being economically feasible for mining. Most of the moons don't possess the gravity field necessary to shield cosmic radiation. Hel 5- An abyssal planetoid shaped like a giant kumquat. No investigation has been done. It has an elliptical orbit that brings it close to Hel 4. Aquaris System- A yellow star powers this system. There are only two worlds orbiting this star, Aquaris 1 and Aquaris 2. However, asteroids and other planetary debris inundate this system. The inhabitants of Aquaris 1 claim that a great power swept through the skies and destroyed the unholy worlds. Aquaris 1- A water world with a few islands. Populated by a race similar to Mon Calamar's Quarren. These people are rude and abusive. They have deep ocean cities far below the surface. However, they have a love of the sea gull- good eating, so hunters will routinely come to the surface to feast upon this avian delicacy. The world has even been hit by two "planet killer" asteroids- however, the Quarren were safe in their deep cities. Aquaris 2- A gas giant that acts as a kind of useless vacuum cleaner. It is often pelted with asteroids. The space around the giant is unexplored and most explorers are lost with the system, never to return. Eloria System- Centered around the yellow star Sol, the Eloria system claims two habitable spheres; Eloria and Beleria (a moon of the gas giant Sephra). The system claims 6 planets (2 gas giants and 4 mid range worlds). The Dagus Asteroid belt also hampers most travelers from the interior of the system and disguises the light of Sol beyond the asteroid field. Mithras- is a medium sized planet with rocky plateaus and volcanic mountains. The atmosphere is charged with massive electrical storms and its proximity to Sol bakes the planet on a regular basis. The atmosphere is a methane-hydrogen mix. Istar- is a smaller world (2/3 size of Mithras) with a poison gas greenhouse atmosphere. Violent storms of sulfur and HCL permeate the surface. Uninhabitable but its single moon has potential. Eloria- A world of variety and inhabited by technologically inferior humans along with "goblins" and "trolls". This world system is ruled by the clans, a system built for survival. Only a few of the clans have access to space travel. Eloria has twin moons. The clans of Eloria are; House Caldazar (emperor), House Cymeri (nobility and commerce), House Ajax (war), House Mordred (arcane) and House Valyria (beggars and wanderers). Treat all commoners of each house as 2nd level heroes; Caldazar (Noble), Cymeri (Noble/Fringer), Ajax (Soldier), Mordred (Force Adept/Scoundrel) and Valyria (Scoundrels/Scouts). The Elorian people still use slugthrowers, though some of the more well to do have acquired blaster technology and access to the space lanes. Many live in cities along the coasts and have certain territories carving the land into many kingdoms. The Emperor rules all, but the clans generally only pay lip service. Most clans go their own ways and leave the others alone. However, it is common for the nobility of each clan to inter-wed. The nobility of Eloria commonly possess various shades of violet in their eyes. The general populace has traces of violet to blue or green for eye color. In all other respects they appear human; except for the fact their genetic structures are different in respect to life spans. Elorians routinely live up to 150 years, nobles up to 300, a fact that many keep secret. |

Syrix Sector- The area of space in the mid-rim of the galaxy is a bit further than traditional hyperspace ways and as other sectors have prospered, the Syrix sector of space has more or less stayed neutral throughout all the conflicts of the galaxy. Agan- A gas giant with twelve moons, five of which are colonized and called the Agan Consortium, an independent government run by Lord Valere of House Riannon. The Agan system is semi-legitimate, but the region is replete with pirates and other 'bad elements'. There is a large wealth gap between the poorest and richest in the Agan moons. Andar- An ice world closely controlled by the Empire (or Republic earlier in the history) for private research. Natural industries include petroleum drilling and mining the giant methane crystal fields deep under the ice. The atmosphere is suited to humans and a natural ecology has developed, with moss and lichens at the bottom and large wooly bison at the top of the food chain. There are a few predatory humanoids, called Ice Trolls, but many settlers reserve these creatures for stories. There are arctic foxes, wolves and ice eagles. The planetary capital is a city on the equator, Irduin, a city of 10,000. The planet has two other sanctioned colonies, called Eisley Field and Deray (each has 1,000 people). Most of the mining is done by droids with human overseers and all citizens are employed by Mid Rim Oreworks as service and maintenance. |

The Elorian people have access to space technology from outside merchants, but choose to build their own spacecraft. Eloria is rich in agriculture, minerals and religous zealotry. Most Elorians live longer than other humans across the galaxy. |
Caalar- A temperate world in the center of the Syrix Sector, Caalar is populated by humans and the Empire maintains a moderate presence. Governor Daelis rules the planet with a benevolent hand, though the world has several problems Smuggling bites into the planet's quota and the underworld effects almost every person on the planet. There are many rival syndicates, with certain cities under a different crime lord's sway. However, there is one crime lord above them all, one who all fear on the planet, perhaps even Governor Daelis- Slova Dakrov. None know what he (or she) is, but the crime lord is the author of every major heist, assassination and rigged race. The world has three main continents, small in comparison to other worlds, for the oceans dominate this planet. The world possesses some of the largest ocean creatures in the area, with krakens and giant whales measuring in excess of 100 meters. The continents are named; Aceria, Damaria and Galdonia. The continent of Galdonia is the least populated and home to a rebel group of terrorists whose sole purpose seems to be disrupting the mining operations for the Empire. Aceria is the largest continent and seems to wrap around the northern pole and touches the southern pole in a single thin strip roughly north and south. The land is agricultural, easily able to support the planet's population of 600 million. The capital of the planet, Calda, is located on the continent's largest natural harbor in the interior of the land mass. Calda connects the west and east ocean. Damaria is the second largest continent, closely linked with Aceria and shares polar islands and isthmuses with Aceria. Damaria is a land of mountains and is sparing of agricultural land. This continent is home to industrial giants, such as the military manufacturer Enitech and Globotrix. Galdonia lies on the opposite side of the globe, measuring only 1,000 by 500 km of rocky land. It is found in the southern hemisphere and is volcanically active and sparsely populated, most on the coasts. There is only one major city, three medium cities and a dozen small towns and villages spread across this ungodly land. Large reptiles prowl the interior Badlands adn great tremors shake the land. Galdonia claims only 15 million inhabitants, mostly in the metropolis Athlas. The continent is also a site of the planetary penal colonies (the interior Badlands) and rebel groups. The planetary makeup is 20% humans, 35% near humans and 45% other. |
Danatos- A temperate world with enormous land masses and deep oceans. Land covers 2/3 of the palnet's surface but the remaining oceans measure 100 km deep in some places. The continents are ranged with jagged mountains and the atmosphere is currently being terraformed by the Empire. While the atmosphere is safe to breathe for brief periods of time, there is an abundance of carbon dioxide. The majority of the population survives inside special domes and mines the rich minerals. The planet is also a source of geothermal energy, which powers most colonies. Lanir- A gas giant with a dense atmosphere and periodic winds. The surface gravity is so great that the planet's core is undergoing slow fusion. Lanir is populated by three cloud cities, mostly workers mining the atmosphere. There is talk of a droid mining operation closer to the surface, but that is years away. The planet appears yellow and orange. It has 3 moons, which are currently being used as industrial bases by the Lanir system. Meis- A temperate planet with three continents and populated mostly by humans. The planet is mineral poor and only moderately successful at agriculture. It exports some grain and imports most of its manufatured items. All businesses have failed here, so most citizens find new and enterprising way to keep jobs, from bribing politicians to staging giant lotteries. It is also called "the bad luck planet", due to several planet killer meteors, being cracked open by Meisquakes adn for some reason, natural predators have a tendency to evolve intelligence fast. The third continent, the smallest, is currently off limits, being declared a natural preserve. Mesyr- An independant planet propped up by the galactic company, Emrir, Mesyr is a desert planet. the planetary government consists of the Autarch, a semi-despotic leader whose family owns the planet. Industry includes moisture farming, dowsing, wind farms, nuclear research and gambling. |
Oblis- Three planets ruled by different governments all in competition with each other, though it is converging toward a system autonomy. The planets allow virtually free space trade and each government operates its own spaceport. The Empire trades here as well as independents. Oblis system contains one prime world and two secondary; Oblis Prime is a medium sized world with a polluted atmosphere and a wrecked ecology. Oblis Prime is more city than planet and depends upon the importation of food from its sister planets. However, Oblis Prime also sports the highest population and is well armed and technologically wealthy. The Empire dominates Oblis Prime politics. Oblis Prime claims four polluted oceans. Marathon is a tundra world populated by arctic ecosystems and an abundance of seals. The original colonies imported the creature and the species enjoys dominance all over the planet. The planet exports natural gases and seal meat. Oblis Minor is a world similar to Oblis Prime, except for the pollution and population. It possesses mineral and agricultural wealth. Oblis Minor was colonized to feed Oblis Prime's population and as such the majority of jobs are agricultural. Oblis Minor rebelled against the parent world a century ago with teh backing of the Agan Consortium. The two planets still maintain a symbiotic relationship however since most of the companies running Oblis Minor claim headquarters on Oblis Prime. Oblis Minor claims to have a republic style of government, but most people agree it is the CEOs of the companies that make the real decisions. Silda- A gas giant surrounded by five large planetoids. Silda causes the system star to wobble due to the gravity of the planet. There are several different independent outposts mining the plnaet's atmosphere, which has an abundance of Tibanna gas. However, due to a black hole close to the system and asteroid fields nearby, most ships arrive through a special space travel corridor that is constantly being cleared of rubbish, expensive and necessary to the area's population. Visiting ships often suffer hull damage due to gravitational disturbances and the presence of so much debris. Such is the price of Tibanna gas. A different government rules each planetoid; Altaras, Phoeli, Vahlking, Dahmar and Corlia. |
Sephra- A gas giant in the Elorian system, with seven moons. Beleria is a terrestrial planetoid with .9 standard gravity and possesses a regular ecosystem with large winged reptiles that galactic scouts call 'dragons'. It is uknown if sentient species exist on this moon of oceans, mountains and plains. |
