~:Citrus Slices:~

These tiny citrus soaps are a slice of heaven. Head to a craft store and soon your soap dish will be bursting with fruity orange and lemon goodness. Mix up two or three colors for a citrus-style statement.

You Will Need:

16 ounces glycerin soap base (look for it at craft stores, along with other soap making supplies)
5 to 10 drops orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, or other citrus scented essential oil or soap scent
1 package soap colorant (available at craft stores)
Round soap molds, 3 to 4 inches in diameter and at least 1 inch deep (you could also use ramekins or any cylindrical containers, as long as they're not made of aluminum)
Petroleum jelly or vegetable shortning
Toothpick
Waxpaper

In a medium size, microwave safe mixing bowl, melt soap base in microwave on high in 1-minute intervals.

Add essential oil. Add soap colorant according to directions on package.

Grease soap molds with petroleum jelly or vegetable shortening. Carefully pour soap mixture into molds. When soap is solid but still a little warm to the touch (15 minutes if you're using shallow molds; longer if you're using deeper ones) release from molds. You may need to jimmy them out with a warm butter knife.

Slice into 1/4 inch thick rounds (like fat cucumber slices) with a sharp knife (not serrated), then slice the rounds in half, so the soaps resemble fruit slices.
