Will insert my review later ...

Just want to get this update on the blog for the upcoming reunion. GO READ IT!

From the Desk of Mitzie:

Hello Batchmates!

Yes, 23 days more to go before our Reunion . Aren’t you excited?!!! As for me, thank God for Lauri, because she always reminds me to be focused. When we see each other in April you will know why I needed reminding.

So what have we accomplished, so far….

  1. Hotel blocking at Affinia is now officially closed….but other means of accommodation is still up for the taking. For those who changed their minds at the last minute and needs someplace to stay, let me know and I’ll try to find you one. We may have space for 1 more in the girls room.
  2. Logo is now in place……check out the egroup’s photo. I have posted our reunion logo there. If you have any photos related to this reunion, make sure to post it in our photo album. I think I created 2 albums there (actually, by mistake lang yun….hehehe!).
  3. Shirts……yes, we have shirts, my friends. But only limited supply. We have ordered 30pcs only. But we can order for more depending on the demand. I don’t want to stock up on anything that we do not need. Sorry, storage is not one of my services. Manny, thank you for bringing the shirts with you. Vernie, thank you for assisting us in getting this done. Those who are paying the fee, will get one free. Those who are not attending but wants to get a shirt, we are selling them. Let us know.
  4. Goody bag….I will provide the goody bag (but not the content!!). 30pcs of bag is what we will be preparing. I encourage everyone to bring something to put in the goody bag. Please, email me what you are bringing with you.
  5. Evite…..you might have received an evite in your inbox. Yes, we sent them. So, they are not spam. Please respond to that. It’s a good tool at knowing who are coming and who are not. Plus you can also post your comments. Thanks to Kuya Meyer for that. For those who have viewed their evites, please send your responses. Simple lang naman yun. Attend? Yes or No. Comment…? I know who have opened them but have not posted…..so, kilala ko kayo. Hmmmm!!!
  6. Reunion fee…. *sigh* unfortunately, only 1 person responded before the deadline and that is Merle. (Thanks, Merle!) And, because of this, we had to make some drastic changes to our original plan. We will have to make things simpler now. One of them, we will no longer hold our reunion party at Krystals. Depending on the budget, we will (or not) have the slide showing and, this I am still pushing for, a CD memorabilia. Which is why, we will still collect the $50 reunion fee to pay for shirts, dinner on the 7th, etc. So, please prepare this amount. If you can send it earlier, that’s even better.

Ongoing activities:

  1. Transfers – the airports that are near Manhattan are La Guardia and JFK. LaGuardia being the nearest. If your flight arrival times are near to one another, we can probably arrange for a transfer-in for you. If not, the yellow cab’s fare to the city is standard at $35.00. Is that right, Marius? We will confirm this later.
  2. Venue for Reunion dinner – like I said, we changed it due to conflict of policies and money constraint. We had to look for a place that will not require deposit and contracts. We chose BBQ Bar & Grill at 73rd Street and 3rd Avenue . Why here? Aside from the reasons just mentioned, we wanted to take you away from the craziness of Midtown Manhattan and bring you to Upper East Side . And, it’s a whole lot cheaper but so much better (in terms of quality of service) than Krystals.
  3. April 6, 2007 – this is your arrival date. We wanted to make this a free day for you to go around and, originally, have a welcome dinner. Again changes, instead, how about if we bring you to Filipino strip?! (If Las Vegas has Vegas strip…). We will take you to Roosevelt Avenue where Filipino restaurants abound and the Filipino grocery is located.
  4. April 7, 2007, Saturday – assembly time at Affinia Manhattan 7am. Our city walking tour will commence from here. We will take the #1 subway train down to Battery Park, take the Ferry Ride to Liberty Island ($19/adult) and return, walk thru Broadway to get to Ground Zero, a little shopping stop at Century 21, take the train to Canal Street (Chinatown), lunch there, take the train up to Rockefeller Center, walk to St. Patrick’s Cathedral (I don’t think there will be mass on that day). So there won’t be any misunderstanding, all expenses are KKB. This walking tour, OR, you can take the Hop On/Hop Off bus tour. I just don’t know if they will take you to Liberty Island . So, take your pick. Pakiusap lang, let me know which one you chose to do. Then take the bus along 3rd avenue going uptown. Get off on 73rd street and the BBQ grill is right there. After reunion party, there is an after-after party at Affinia, in one of the rooms of the guests….
  5. Picture CD – this is still a work in progress. Marissa has some pics already. Please send in more. The more the merrier, the more the many-er. Please..please…please…I’m sure Marissa is having a rocking time doing this, seeing all these photos. Thanks, Samaris for the CD. I was not expecting that. May advance copy na ako….yeheeeyyyyy!!!!

In this email, I have included Cyril and Maida. I hope, even though we’re in the final stages, you both can attend.

Gate-crashers….welcome pa rin..basta magbayad lang kayo ng fee.

Feedback…feedback..feedback……..please!

Maraming Salamat po!
