Drawing A Mandala:
Finding Your Center
This workshop will cover the healing potential and self-discovery of creating
a mandala. A mandala is a sacred art form found in cultures all around the
world. Mandalas focus and reflect the spiritual content of the psyche for
both the maker and the viewer. Students will learn how to harness their hidden
energy through guided meditation and drawing. Exercises will be done with
color pencils on black paper. Everybody has their own unique insights and
backgrounds. Guided meditations will help to put students in touch with their
own creativity. Students will then create one small black and white mandala
and one larger full-color mandala. Students will learn about light, awareness,
and positive thinking.
“I am an instinctual artist expressing my vision through colors
and patterns. The right combination of colors, patterns, and forms can unlock
states of higher consciousness. In today's world of materialism and spiritual
crisis, I feel it necessary for artists to rejuvenate the importance of spirituality
in our culture. It is my goal as an artist to create windows between the material
and spiritual realms.”
