Training Room

This room is a long plain wooden room constructed in the style of a japin the style of a japenese dojo. A few random training dummies litter the room, and a rack of shinai with a sign next to it is off to your left.

The doors of the dojo open, and Velias walks through.

Shiroi enters, slowly, a thoughtful look on her face, almost trance like, even. She comes to a stop as she enters, and leans against the wall next to herself. Arms folded, her black eyes stared at the blank space in front of herself.

Velias turns around to face Shiroi, "How do you feel today?"

Shiroi's lips parted, though she did not look up. "Not very positive... had a dream about someone I once knew... strange dream..."

Velias nods, "Strange dreams...I've had them from time to time."

Shiroi nods, and lifts her head up, to direct her line of vision at Velias. "Oh? Care to share?"

Velias says, "I dream about...the end of the world."

Shiroi lifted her head further up. "The end of the world, huh? What was it like?"

Velias says, "It's very hard to describe...except to say that there is nothingness...no existence whatsoever."

Velias says, "Have you ever wondered what is at the bottom of a black hole?"

Shiroi unfolds her arms, and raises one hand up, then lets it go again. "I- have- been- to- utter nothingness," she pronounced slowly, her dark eyes holding Velias'. "Or the entrance of it. The biggest mistake I'd ever made in all the years I'd existed was coming back from it."

Shiroi asks: How old are you, Velias?

Velias says, "23"

Shiroi nods, closing her eyes. "I see."

Velias says, "Why do you ask?"

Shiroi's head rolled from side to side, then up and around, her arms folded again. "I can't remember how old I am..." she murmured, then her head dropped back, and she looked up again. "No, I remember now. 15."

Shiroi's head dropped again, and a faint, trembling giggle started.

Shiroi says: No, no, I'm not really 15. I can't remember very well now.

Velias looks at Shiroi inquisitively, "Lost time? Yes...I know how that feels."

Velias says, "You want to know something strange?"

Shiroi looks up again, peering at Velias.

Velias says, "I was born on a planet called Earth...when my father founded this company."

Velias says, "Ragnarok has a very extensive history of what we have done since my father has founded Darkwood...almost 300 years worth."

Velias says, "So I should be dead...yet I'm not."

Shiroi raised an eyebrow, at that. "I came from Earth. I have never heard of Darkwood."

Velias says, "Not suprising. We used to be called BlueTech back then. My father changed the name after my mother died."

Shiroi says: I have not heard of BlueTech either.

Velias thinks for a moment, then says, "We were actually founded in the year 2130."

Shiroi purses her lips, seemingly deep in thought, before nodding. "Aah, time difference. That's roughly somewhere around a 100 years before my time."

Velias nods, "I thought so."

Shiroi asks: Do you remember Earth?

Velias says, "I have vague memories of Earth. We used to travel alot between the differnet countries."

Velias says, "I looked back on it, and it seemed I spent most of my life in a country called Russia, in one of the citidels there."

Velias says, "That's where my father conducted most of the business."

Shiroi smirks. "Aah, Russia. I've been there. One of the few places that I do know where I was while I was there," her smile turned sour. "I hated that place."

Velias smiles a bit, "Yes, I could see how one could hate the place. Where we were the temperatures were always bwe were the temperatures were always below zero."

Shiroi positively glowered. "It's always freezing, there's never any food around, and people were always trying to kill me!" She shouted, surprisingly ferocious.

Velias says, "Yes...that would be quite a reason to hate Russia. I suppose people would have been after my life, but we were pretty much in the middle of nowhere."

Velias says, "And as for food, well...I suppose seeming my father lived there, it was probably abundant."

Velias smiles, "So you probably had a better reason to hate the place than I."

Shiroi's anger fades away as quickly as it had came, and she seems quite tranquil again. "Aah, Russia, filled with memories..." she raised up one hand and affected a gesture of firing a gun. "First time I'd shot someone in this life."

Shiroi says: Speaking of which.

Shiroi asks: Have you ever figured out what weapon would best suit me?

Velias says, "Yes, I've determined...though you might not be pleased with the answer."

Shiroi raises an eyebrow. "Try me."

Velias says, "You aren't suited for any of the weapons we have here."

Velias says, "So..."

Velias says, "I allocated a portion of the R&D Department to you so that you may make a weapon you feel best suits you."

Shiroi snrks. "I see, I see... I always have to come up with all the ideas."

Velias chuckles a bit, "Walker was quite angry when I suggested it. Though, I've never seen him happy in my life."

Shiroi asks: Whatever pissed him off so much?

Shiroi says: By the suggestion, I mean.

Velias says, "He just didn't want to spare the researchers."

Shiroi says: Aah, of course.

Velias says, "Walker has always been a disagreeable person. I'm sure father would have had him killed long ago if it weren't for his brilliance."

Shiroi grins, "Heh heh heh!"

Shiroi says: Brilliant men tend to be assholes, yes.

Velias says, "I completely agree."

Shiroi falls into silence, for a bit. "Why do you not like your father, again?"

Velias looks down a bit, "I don't think I could ever hate him. He is my father, after all."

Shiroi says: But you don't love him.

Velias says, "Love is something that doesn't exist in my family."

Shiroi asks: Who took care of you, growing up?

Velias says, "Various attendants. There have been so many..."

Shiroi asks: All of whom comes and goes?

Velias nods silently.

Shiroi says: Aah... seems sad, somehow.

Velias nods, "I suppose. Though, it's all I know, so it really isn't so sad to me."

Shiroi shifts her weight forward, and pushes herself off the wall with her back. Leaning towards Velias, she smiled disquietingly. "Aww, imagine that, mini Velias. What a cute little boy."

Velias gives a puzzled look to Shiroi.

Shiroi waves a hand dismissively. "Oh, nothing, just imagining you to be ye-high," she makes a gesture somewhere below her waist. "With an apathetic expression on your cute little chibi face, wearing a cute little suit tailored specially for you."

Velias thinks about that for a second, then laughs.

Shiroi pulls herself back and straightens up, smirking a bit.

Velias says, "So, would you like to continue our match? Sorry for cutting the last one so short."

Shiroi opens her mouth again, then, as if something had occurred to her, she changes her mind and consequently the subject she was about to approach on. "Sounds agreeable," she nods, and takes a step back.

Velias says, "Very well."

Shiroi asks: Why don't you start us off this time?

Velias nods, "It isn't part of my style, but I can entertain that request."

Velias says, "Just tell me when you're ready."

Shiroi unfolds her arms. "Anytime now."

Velias nods, then dashes over to Shiroi in a flury of punches mostly aimed at her midsection. Then, he quickly spins his leg low to the ground in an attempt to trip her.

Shiroi stands, her body swaying in time with Velias' punches, jerking a little as the blows land repeatedly on her person, her expression blank. She avoids the trip, however, by a quick skip of her feet, as if she were playing jump ropes, and she promptly struck Velias soundly in the face with a lashing foot.

Velias grabs that foot and begins to spin around a few times before finally releasing it, sending Shiroi flying across the room.

Shiroi turns in the air, and lands on one foot before doing a series of rapid flips back to Velias, then leaps again, lashing out with a powerful spin kick.

Seeing the direction Shiroi was headed in, Velias quickly steps to the right side of Shiroi and, as she lands, spins around to deliver another kick to her midsection.

Shiroi's kick lands on Velias' thigh as their kicks collided, and she quickly pulls her foot back, only slightly, upon contact with Velias' leg, only to whip back again with breaking force.

Almost immediately, Velias drops to the ground, but on his good knee, wincing in pain because...well, his leg is most likely broke now. Like last time, he places his hands upon his thigh and it is engulfed in a green glow.

Shiroi didn't stop, even as Velias covered his hand over his thigh. She let flew her other leg, and kicked away his healing hand with equally vicious force. Followed by another kick to his midsection, and rained kicks down upon him with a solemn expression upon her face.

Even if it was only a few seconds, healing did help a bit. With his good leg, Velias dashes foward past Shiroi, breaking into a roll to the other side of the room. There, he continues to heal his leg.

Shiroi follows his every move like a shadow, and her claw-like hand swepts down as it grabs his face, lifts him up with seeming ease, and began smashing his head against the wall behind him.

Velias grunts as his face hits the wall, but after a couple of times he dashes foward and into Shiroi, attempting to tackle her to the ground, or at the least, push her away from the wall.

Shiroi plants her feet firmly on the ground, and she pushes Velias back again, with apparent superior strength. Slamming her knee into his midsection, she shifted her grasp from his face to his neck, holding it back tightly against the wall as she continues her assault with her knee, slamming it into his person over and over again.

Shiroi's hand, the one that held Velias' neck, began to tighten as well, her fingers closing in on his air passage.

Velias coughs a bit as his air is cut off. Slowly, he closes his eyes and manages to say, "Okay Shiroi, I give up."

Shiroi releases her grasp, and stands back, giving Velias his space to breath.

As Shiroi releases her grip, Velias flickers out of view, and reappears on the other side of the room behind her.

Shiroi says: You're very fast.

Velias nods, "Yes, my speed is one of my reliances."

Velias says, "Unfortunately, it's also one of the handicaps I gave myself."

Shiroi turns her head to Velias. "How so?"

Velias is encompased with a muted green glow, this one dissipates much faster than before...almost within a few seconds.

Shiroi says: Ah, nevermind, I see.

Velias says, "Well, if I used it during our match, it wouldn't be interesting."

Shiroi nods solemnly. "I'm afraid not."

Velias chuckles and says, "I was also healing myself slower than usual."

Shiroi looks thoughtful, for a moment. "Can you fly?"

Velias says, "No...why do you ask?"

Shiroi smiled slightly. "Just wondering, really."

Velias says, "Hmm...I see."

Shiroi asks: ON another completely unrelated topic, is it possible to get back to Earth with Redslide?

Velias nods, "Yes it is."

Velias says, "Redslide is able to bend two points in space and time, and temporarily link them via a wormhole."

Velias says, "Using it, you coudl easily travel from one side of the universe to the other in a matter of seconds."

Velias says, "Why? Do you want to go back to Earth?"

Shiroi ponders that, for a bit.

Shiroi closed her eyes, then opened them again. "There is nothing to go back for," she said flatly.

Shiroi asks: Have you ever been in love, Velias?

Velias nods, "I was, once. She was in love with another, though."

Shiroi cracks a sour grin. "Ouch. Mind telling me about her?"

Velias leans against the wall, shaking his head, "There's not much to say, really. She was a fighter, much like you. Of course, I'm sure it didn't help that she was fighting to destroy Darkwood."

Shiroi grins, "Heh heh heh!"

Shiroi asks: When was this?

Velias laughs a bit, "A long time ago on the place I lived in before comming here, in Altasia."

Velias says, "Though she lived on Tsuki."

Velias says, "Hmm...come to think about it, it wasn't that long ago, I suppose. Maybe a couple years ago."

Shiroi found herself a wall and sat down against it. "How did you meet?"

Velias says, "Well, I don't know if I mentioned, but I do like to put myself in danger. Gambling with my life has always been quite entertaining for me."

Velias says, "So I joined Darkwood's Special Forces, who were frontline soldiers responsible for quelling dangerous resistances."

Shiroi grins, "Heh heh heh!"

Velias says, "I litterally met her on the battlefield."

Velias says, "She was the only one who could truly best me in battle."

Shiroi asks: Was /that/ what made you fall for her?

Velias nods

Shiroi laughs.

Shiroi says: Ahem, excuse me.

Velias chuckles a bit, "Nah, don't worry. I suppose it is funny."

Shiroi asks: So, what happened?

Velias says, "One day a new member joined up with the resistence, a bounty hunter."

Velias says, "It wasn't long before they fell in love. When I found out, well..."

Velias says, "Battle just became boring for me."

Shiroi raised an eyebrow, trying to connect those two facts together.

Velias says, "I never saw her on the field of battle again. Though, now that I think about it, it would have never worked otu with her."

Shiroi says: Why not? I thought you want to be off with this place.

Velias says, "This place?"

Shiroi shrugged. "Darkwood."

Shiroi says: At least, the one on this world.

Velias says, "Eh, ultimately that is the board's decision, not mine."

Velias says, "Heh, I wonder where she is now..."

Shiroi asks: I see, but why wouldn't it work out with her?

Velias says, "We were on different sides of a war, and there was no way I could compete with someone who shared her hatred for Darkwood."

Shiroi nods.

Shiroi asks: By the way, what is her name?

Velias says, "Sakura."

Shiroi tilted her head back. "A generic name," she commented.

Velias says, "I suppose...I don't know...I liked the name."

Velias says, "Funny thing..."

Shiroi says: There's a reason why it's made generic.

Velias says, "My final mission was an assult on their headquarters on Tsuki."

Shiroi asks: Final mission?

Velias nods, "Yes. Though, something went very wrong. We were going to blow it off the face of Tsuki with one of the military satalites, but...ah man, I can't even describe it very well."

Shiroi has a questioning look on her face.

Velias says, "We fired the laser, and it hit the base, but it was like the space around the base warped...like a tidal wave that suddenly froze."

Velias says, "Half of the people inside went completely missing...including both Sakura and the bounty hunter."

Shiroi asks: And the other half?

Velias says, "We managed to capture much of the resistence."

Velias says, "Though, after I found out that Sakura was among those who vanished into thin air, I retired from the Special Forces."

Shiroi asks: Why so?

Velias says, "She was the only one who could truly best me in battle, so what's the point of fighting if you can't gamble with your life?"

Shiroi smirks in amusement.

Velias says, "I filed for a relocation, and the Board of Trustees saw interest in me. I was immediately relocated there, and assumed the position as their represenative."

Velias says, "Of course, later on, we found out they appeared here, so we followed."

Shiroi asks: They, as the in missing half of the resistance?

Velias says, "They being...er, yes."

Velias says, "I tried to ask for another relocation to this satalite company, but kept getting denied."

Velias says, "Until I managed to convince them they needed an report as to how their investment in this world was doing."

Shiroi grins, "Heh heh heh!"

Velias looks down again, "Unfortunately, I found out she left a long time ago. Snuck into the Tower and used Redslide to go God-knows-where..."

Shiroi tsks.

Shiroi says: Well, that's unfortunate.

Velias nods

Velias says, "So that is that."

Shiroi leaned her head back against the wall, and sighed. "Apparently so."

Shiroi asks: What would you do, if you ever manage to see her again?

Velias says, "Confess my feelings possibly, though, it would most likely be a sad attempt. I'm not much of an expert on romance, unfortunately."

Shiroi grinned again. "If even that, it would depend on the state of her relationship with the bounty hunter, wouldn't it?"

Velias says, "I doubt that is very strong anymore...he's still here."

Shiroi asks: I see, I see... who is he, by the way?

Velias says, "His name is Natdog, a former member of the Special Forces, actually."

Shiroi raises an eyebrow.

Shiroi then restored her features to a mild interest. "So, say if she ever asked you to change sides, would you?"

Velias says, "That is a diffucult question...it would involve choosing between her, or my father."

Shiroi says: I was under impression that you really care more for her than your father.

Velias says, "I do...perhaps I would choose her over my father..."

Velias says, "Though it would be a diffucult choice to make none the less."

Shiroi asks: Where does your loyalty lie?

Velias says, "For now, it lies with Darkwood. She's gone now, and I'll probably never see her again."

Velias says, "...we don't really know what happens when you use Redslide without full knowlege of its operation..."

Shiroi smirks. "One can never be sure, really."

Velias says, "Ah well, I prefer to be a realist. It's much more reliable."

Shiroi closed her eyes and nodded. "On yet another completely unrelated matter, just how long do you plan to keep Razz in that medical lab?"

Velias says, "Until she wishes to leave, I suppose. She's well enough where if she wanted to leave, she could."

Shiroi smirks oddly. "I think it's rather obvious that she would have no where to go."

Shiroi says: And the thought of leaving cannot have crossed her pretty little head while my former schoolmaster is still lying conscious here.

Velias nods, "Yes, I came to that conclusion myself. I could probably arrange for some more comfortable living quarters for her. She doesn't really have to live down in the Medlab."

Velias says, "So now let me ask you something..."

Shiroi coughed. "Just a thought, she seemed rather depressed the last time I dropped by, sulking in that room all day, staring at the center of her world who would not wake."

Shiroi asks: Hmm, yes?

Velias says, "How come you're so curious about my past?"

Shiroi's raven black eyes glimmered with innocence. "I'm naturally curious?"

Velias looks over at Shiroi for a second, then says, "Somehow, I doubt that's the real reason."

Shiroi asks: Why, what do you suspect the real reason to be?

Velias walks over to the north wall of the dojo, slides a small panel away, and presses a button which is revealed. In response, the pannels on the wall fall into the floor, revealing a windowed view of the Relidian countryside

Shiroi watched curiously.

Velias looks out the window, over to the mountainside, "I really couldn't say. Honestly, you're quite puzzling to me."

Shiroi asks: How am I puzzling?

Shiroi says: I do think I'm a rather straight-forward individual.

Velias says, "Hmmm...I believe it's in the way you always smile at things...I may be wrong, but it's as if you have something to hide."

Velias says, "Besides, my life is rather boring, nothing to really take interest in. Most people would view my ramblings as nothing more than a rich kid being spoiled."

Shiroi demonstrates the very smile Velias may have been referring to. "Like I've said, I find it benefitial to smile as often as possible... as for something to hide, well, it isn't as if people are in a hurry to find out my secrets, if I even have any."

Shiroi says: As for asking about your past...

Shiroi says: Well, certain subjects merely imposed themselves upon my mind, and I really was merely curious. Perhaps I only wanted to compare my life to yours.

Shiroi says: Besides, there's no harm in knowing the people around you further.

Shiroi batted her eyelashes mockingly. "Knowledge is power, after all."

Velias turns around and looks into Shiroi's eyes for a moment, then chuckles again, "I see. Yes, I myself am the same way."

Shiroi says: Other than that....

Shiroi smiled again. "I just enjoy small talk."

Velias nods, then says, "Indeed. Well, thank you for taking such an interest in my past. I'm quite flattered."

Shiroi waves again. "No need, really. And you are rather cute, after all." the actress grinned.

Velias returns the grin.

Velias presses the button by the panel again, and the pannels in the room slide back up to cover the window.

Velias says, "We should spar again sometime...unless you're getting bored with it, of course."

Shiroi says: Oh, no.

Shiroi leaned her head back against the wall again. "Though I must say I enjoyed the talk at least as much as the fight."

Velias nods, "So did I."

Velias says, "Ah yes, that reminds me!"

Shiroi pushed herself to her feet again, stretching. "Well then... yes?"

Velias says, "If you put in your request to R&D, they should have your weapon ready in a matter of two days, so you could use it in your fight with Eikigou."

Velias says, "Surveylence has found where he has been. I'll have them send the info to you later."

Shiroi smirked. "Aah, I see. Well, I shall visit the R&D shortly, then. I already have a blueprint in my mind, sort of. Perhaps I'll show it to you the next time we spar."

Velias nods, and says, "I'll look foward to that."

Velias bows, "Well, if you'll excuse me. I must be off."

Shiroi bows in return. "Farewell."

Velias turns and exits the dojo, into Hasaki's Office.

Shiroi waits for a few moments, before following suit. "o/~ Oooh~ Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home~" the voice turned sweetly, as the singer left the dojo.
