A simple classroom
This is a simple construction classroom. The floors are made out of a simple yet well polished redwood design. Three rows of desks, five desks deep sit in the center of this room. Along the west and east walls are large book cases, each holding a rather massive collection of books. In the front of the room a small area is raised about a foot higher then the rest of the room. On this raised platform sits a rather large black-oak desk. On the desk is a single large book and a small staff. Behind the desk is a large blackboard. In the back of the room is a map of the Red Hearts tower, and four globes representing each of the worlds.
Mirai paces the front of the classroom, toying nervously with a small titanium wand. ~...who told them I was qualified to teach?~ She sighs, quietly, and stuffs the wand into her pocket, composing herself, as the first students begin to arrive.
Validan slowly makes his way through the doorway, trying to conceal his face under the robes hood. With both arms going through the opposite armholes of the robe, he walks in a constant bowing fashion. Taking the farthest seat in the corner, remaining silent.
Ari peeps into the classroom, checking to see if its the right one. Seeing Mirai near the teacher's desk, her eyebrows shoot up in amazement. She's sorely tempted to yell out her name, seeing as how Mirai is still the teacher-elder she knows best, but restrains herself, although a broad smile breaks out on her impish face as she scampers to a seat, pausing along the way to bow in respect.
Krugen WALKS into the classroom, nodding in Ari's direction. Not like she would remember him, but eh, worth a shot, right? He bows low to Mirai as he passes her, going towards the nearest seat to the door.
Shiroi strode into the classroom like a breeze, an expression of casual amusement plastered on her face, looking not at all as if she had just been plunked out of her world hours ago, and into - wherever the hell this is. With elves... and... non human beings. Cool. This beats Lucifer's little school flat! ... Unless this is another one of his idea of a joke. Well, 'least his sense of humor improved, if that's the case. She sends a winning grin at the people who'd bothered to look in her direction.
Another student enters the room, the students robes are drawn tight about their body, the sleeves tied off the the middle pulled tight with a belt. A few strands of blue hair fall out from under the hood which is pulled very low. The student slips into a chair next to Validan, then looks up at Mirai, before leaning over to Validan and whispering softly, "At least the teach is cute, eh?" the student says.
Mirai says a few words to herself, quietly, and surveys her class. Most of whom are taller than her. Several of whom are taller than her /sitting down/. And... one of these kids is not like the others, oh no. It would've had to be her day to teach, too, wouldn't it? "...Good morning, students."
The student in the back echo's Mirai word for word, in the exactly same tone and with the exact same voice, "Good morning, teacher."
Shiroi grinned at the... elf. Oh, yay. She's being taught by an elf. Go elves. "Mornin'!" She raised two fingers.
Validan snickers under his robe before hissing softly, 'Not paying attention.' Turning his back slightly to the student trying to be left alone ...why is it, I try to be left alone and thats when people bother me?... "Mornin' Mi'lady" he adds quietly.
Ari was about to greet Mirai, really, but starts when she sees this weird... whatever-it-is... waving her appendages around. Her eyes widen, and her jaw drops -- although she manages to catch that before it hits the table -- and stares for quite a while before remembering that she's not supposed to. Subsequently, her 'Morning!' is a little subdued as she bends her head and continues to (hopefully discreetly) sneak peeks at that... weird student. At least she assumes it's a student.
Shiroi leaned back on her chair and shifted her right leg over her left, her arms folded in front of her chest. Her twinkling eyes and crooked smirk seems to say "C'mon, entertain me."
Mirai is spoilt for choice, really. "Clever trick, that," she notes, appreciatively, to the aspiring young mimic in the rear. "Would, ahh, would someone know what we were studying, now? Ari, maybe? The regular instructor did a poor job of filling me in, I'm afraid, and I don't want to bore you all with review, or confuse you with stuff you aren't set for."
Krugen is startled for a second by the noise, then remembers where he is, "Good morning, Ma'am." . o O (Must really remember not to stay up all night on school days).
Shiroi raised her hand. "Hi, ma'am, can I ask a question first?" Still wearing that winning grin. Almost disquieting, that.
Validan peers up slightly, going cross-eyed looking at the teacher. "How, about the use and at-most force of using a summon?" booming loudly at his request, he leans back down glancing at the desk trying to act as if he never said anything.
Ari thinks for a while, startled from her observation of the... whatever creature that is with a fanciful pelt. She has to stop wandering the forest at night, really, if it leads her to see critters in class as well. Shaking her attention back to Mirai's question, she meekly answers (thinking she's been caught for inattention): "Um, elemental control."
The student in the back leans back, hands clasps behind their head, "Ah, well at least I'm in the right class then."
Krugen is, quite obviously, fighting to stay awake. His head slowly going back as he falls asleep, then suddenly jutting forward, as he wakes up, wide eyed.
Mirai frowns down the row at Validan, until Ari pipes up with the a more correct response. "...Elemental control. Thank you, yes. I believe Calling would be covered in a Call magic class, rather than a Red magic one, yes?" As she works her way around the room to Shiroi, near the door, she continues. "Can someone demonstrate, or describe, what precisely was the last thing you covered under the elements? Are we working on combination spells, yet?"
Shiroi waits patiently. She has all the time in the world, after all. Her keen eyes are kept on Mirai. Too keen to be comforting, really.
Validan mutters loudly at the response and naming the usage of power that should be left alone. Veering downwards into a large side satchel he pulls a book from it, plopping it onto the desk. Flipping through it, disregarding his current location.
The student stood up and went to the back of the class, playfully spinning one of the globes around and ignoring the rest of the class.
Krugen is still sleeping.
Shiroi is still waiting.
Mirai reaches Shiroi, and looks... up, at her. "...Bet I've got more questions than you do," she allows, after a moment, trusting the class not to kill anyone for the time being. Probably a bad idea.
Ari shakes off her too-frequent glances and starts to turn aroud and look at the other students instead. Not wanting to be the next demonstrator, she hunches down, trying to make herself as small as possible. She does recognize Krugen... and notices that he doesn't exactly seem alert... perhaps she has to get him to teach her, someday, the art of magicking while physically asleep. That'd be really interesting, perhaps. Besides some other regular faces, she doesn't seem to recognize the rest of them, though.
The student turns their attention away from the globe and becomes interested with something on the large map. The student begins trying to stretch upwards to see but can't seems to be just a little too short. With a rather annoyed 'Hmph' the student turned around and pointed at the book Validan was reading, the student then snapped their fingers and the book slid off the desk, across the floor and slammed shut at the students feet. The student then used it as a small booster and began reading some text on the map.
Shiroi kept up her grin, flashing her pearly white teeth. "Thanks. I'm just wondering, which world is this? They tell me that I'm a gate crasher, and I believe that I landed sometime around - oh, just some hours ago, really. I'm given the impression that it isn't a rare occurrance either. Mind educating me a bit on that?"
Validan leaps from his desk, jumping over the other desks getting to the deranged minded student. "Get off my book! NOW!!!" pulling his arms out from the robe's sleeves he bares a small staff, and takes a small step back. "Only warning!"
Mirai gains all manner of understanding. "Ahh. Yes, I can help you, if you can wait until after--"
Ari was startled by the sound of a book slamming, followed by a some... apparently incoherent screaming. Spooked, she jumps off her seat and crouches in between the rows of desks, mentally running through a list of options...
Krugen is quite startled from all the yelling, and falls out of his desk, smacking into a bookcase, which topples over on him. Great.
Shiroi smirks, her eyes drifting to the front of the class. "After that?" She asks knowingly.
The student turns around and looks at Validan, the hood pulled too low to see the expression on their face. The student then took a step back and easily removed themselves from the book. With another snap the book rose into the air, then went sailing back to Validan' desk, "You can sit down now, fool." the student says, mimicing Validan' voice.
Validan /nudges/ the student rather hard as he returns to his desk. Wiping the book off, deciding here and now isnt the place to study. Placing it back into the satchel, he adds the motion of trying to conceal the staff once again.
Krugen grumbles slightly from under the books, as he slowly works his way out from under the bookcase. Great first impression.
Ari had peeped out over the desk, curiously watching the events going on in the back once she had determined that there wasn't any real danger... hopefully. But she thinks that something still isn't too right... perhaps Mirai will see what it is.
Mirai's head turns to observe precisely what sort of hell is breaking loose. Figures. "...After I deal with this lot. Won't be a moment." Approaching the mystery student from the rear, and pointedly ignoring the toppled bookshelf, she takes hold of one wrist and is about to apply some form of restraint when Validan decides to make it physical. Dismissing the original instigator for the time being, she follows Val back to his seat, and prods him in the back of the head. "That's two." Leaving him for the front of the classroom, she inquires, in a /quite/ controlled tone, "Does /anybody/ care to demonstrate what we've been studying? Or shall I start, and you can stop me when we hit something you recognize?" Mentally, she sorts a short list of possible test dummies.
Krugen finally gets out from under the bookcase, and begins to dust himself off, "Gladly, Ma'am.". He picks up a book from the toppled over mess, and places the other hand over the book, the fire extinguishes itself.
Validan pulls the hood back, behind his head. His short blond hair, doesnt seem to cover his ears instead they poke outwards almost as if they were two horns. The chocolate brown eyes glare at the teacher. "Before you go on about /elemental/ control you need to try some SELF control. Or tell your students to leave objects alone that arent theres!" sitting into his seat, he coughs loudly ...---hole, I will kill next time my book is taken...
Ari pops her head out above the desk and scampers back on her seat, just as Krugen... implodes... a book. Oops. She glances at Mirai out of the corner of her eye, waiting to see what she's going to say now. As it is, she doesn't trust herself to keep that lightning bolt to just -one- lightning bolt... not that it's her fault she happened to be born into that House.
Shiroi kicks her feet up on the desk in front of her, and assumes her previous pose. Still smirking, oh yes. Giving the room a scan, she spots... elf, elf, elf, elf- Ooo, mysterious cloaked person for a change... probably another elf when the hood comes down. She yawns.
Mirai breathes a sigh, partly of relief, partly of frustration that she doesn't get to demonstrate any of her neat tricks. But wait! Validan has just provided her the opportunity! All is not lost! With a smile /far/ too sincere, she nods at Krugen. "Aha. Thank you. We're doing area limitation. You'll note that while the book is ashes, the desktop isn't scorched. You all observed, yes?" She waits, and eventually receives a 'no'. "Ah. Well. If you'll all look at Validan, there, at the end of the far row, I'll demonstrate again." And, with barely a gesture, poor Validan's left sleeve catches fire, blases whitehot, and evaporates into ash. He's unhurt, of course, but no doubt it's a bit of a shock.
Shiroi gives a high, long, and appreciative whistle at the fire works.
Krugen is now sitting, magically, and smirking to himself.
Validan blinks once, then twice and several more times. Jaw dropping slightly at the burnt holy in his robe ...I just got this robe too... "If your a teacher.. shouldnt you respect a student wearing the colors.." mumbling loudly ...maybe she wants me dead... glancing at Mirai. "And how do you know my /name/ I know none of you."
The student steps forward, raising a hand and pointing at a desk, "Area limitation..." the student says, their voice sounding oddly hollow as the desk rises off the ground, "Force.. exhibited within only a small area..." The desk is violently ripped to shreds by an invisible force, "The more concentrated, the more damage can be done... for an amateur at least..." the student then lowers their hand, the small, penny sized pieces slowly stacking up on the ground in three evently spaced and equal height rows.
Shiroi chuckles. "Shall we have a class introduction?"
Mirai has had about enough of 'the student'. The class /will/ learn to respect her authority. Her smile widens, slightly, and she mutters a few syllables. 'The student', unless e's far more prepared than e has any right to be, ought to be experiencing a hellacious ringing in eir ears, now. Positively paralyzing. "Well, we might. Might be a good idea, even. I'm Mirai Sekenneri. Acting head of the Blades of the Red Heart, in Justin's absence."
Ari seems to be doing a lot of jaw-dropping and eye-popping today. First the book, then the sleeve, and now the table. And they haven't even got to the introduction... my goodness. She blinks several times, to make sure that her eyes are still working, then begins to frown, when Mirai speaks again and somehow manages to soothe her frazzled nerves.
The student vanishes and reappears behind Mirai, drapping their arms over Mirai' shoulders the student whispers softly in her ear, "That wasn't very nice." in a rather sickly sweet tone.
Validan sits up right, not even able to twitch. "You are the reason of Kylie's disappearance..." ...it's her, I knew it!... "Wait.. until I can move again. YOUR HEAD WILL BE PIKED!" he screams loudly, still not able to move ...damn this...
Shiroi snrked, then tossed her head back, and laughed. Good God. What a show.
Krugen was sleeping, yet again, at least until the rude bastards outburst. At least THIS time he does not fall out of his desk. Figuring out the general gist of the commotion, he draws his sword, and stands up. Not paying attention to how he moves, a few clinking sounds are coming from underneath his uniform.
Ari peers at that - well, apparent humanoid-looking person, but what a strange pelt! - and seriously considers conducting a 'demonstration' of part of the last lesson. Well, not that seriously, since it might get out of hand, but this lesson definitely isn't shaping up like the rest (Or perhaps it is... scary thought).
Shiroi's skill sense is as sharp as ever, and she turns her eyes on the... one of the... elves. Well, the girl with braided black hair. Smirking, she winked at the peering girl, and wiggled her fingers at her.
Mirai positively /beams/, now. Beautiful. She debates whether to go for the wand or the sword. "'Nice' seems to be high in your priorities, I notice. The bookshelf and desk would be coming out of your pocket if you were a student here. She steps away, and turns to study em more closely, ignoring Validan for the moment. The mention of Kylie puts him on the 'die' list, anyhow, and he clearly isn't enough of a threat to worry about now. While the mystery child definitely seems to be.
Validan glares towards Mirai. "I know you heard me!" ...god damn this spell, must find a way to be protected from it... "I am Validan Ethes, Apprentice Summoner to the Tower of Illusions.. and young learner in the art of red magic /here/ I was training with Kylie.. you know it because I remember you." ...spark another nerve...
The student jumps back and up, landing with a bit of flair on top of the teachers desk. A hand, obviously female, reaches up and pulls the front of the robes collar out a bit, "Well, since it's introduction time.... if I went by the name written on this here robe, I'd say my name is Mei. But really, I'm sure she's still laying unconcious in her room." the female figure then pulls the hood back, letting her oddly tinted blue hair fall free, "So I guess in the realm of being fair. The names Novina, I'd tell you my last name, but it seems I've forgotten it. Friends call me Nova, but I don't think I like most of you here, so let's keep it formal, shall we dears?"
Ari frowns at the human...? or whatever. Whether she realised it or not, she just made a particularly rude gesture... at least in her lexicon of handsigns. She reaches behind her for a once ever-present bow, intending to send an arrow whizzing past that girl/woman's ear, but realises that this was supposed to be class -- magic class at that -- and so her weapons are still sitting on their racks. She settles for glaring daggers instead, trying to keep her irritation in check.
Shiroi doesn't think the little elf girl liked her. Oh, the world is so unforgiving and cruel. But anyhow, something else is going on with the teacher - and the formerly cloaked student. Woo, not an elf after all.
Mirai goes a trifle still. The quality of her smile alters, noticeably. "...Heh. Your memory must be even worse than mine, Nova." The rest of the class might as well not exist-- mm, well, the issue of the gate-crasher still occupies a place in her thoughts, but not much of one. "You got my message, then."
Ari looks at Mirai, and then at the one who said she was Novina. She really wants to know what happened to Mei, but... this person seems to have something to settle with Mirai. If anything, this has been a lesson full of strange surprises.
Novina hops down and sits on the edge of the desk, her legs swinging slightly, "Aye, that I did, that I did. Long time no-see, lady Mirai."
Shiroi grew somewhat bored just then. Hmm... It can't be that there's nothing to do now, can it? Surely with a little immaturity, anything's possible! Spotting a somewhat torched and torn textbook beside her desk, Shiroi reached down and set her feet on the floor again. Opening the damaged book, she started tearing pages off of it merrily, and tearing them into smaller chunks, and folding them into pieces, little paper balls! And- Ooooo... a still, standing, ranting target! Whizzzzz! Bop! And a paper ball hits Validan on the back of the head! And another! And another!
Mirai wouldn't mind knowing what happened to Mei, either. "Ahh... /just/ unconscious, I sincerely hope? No, nevermind, I'm sure she is. No matter. Not much matter, anyways. I'd heard that you lot were getting supiciously active, again."
Novina shrugged again, this time a little smile on her face, "My, but isn't everything we do suspicious? And don't worry about your little Mei... She was a darling, we had a little chat, I asked her to borrow her robe, she said yes, then inexplicably passed out. It was a shame, really. I'm sure she'll wake up with just a bit of a headache."
Mirai shakes her head. "No, no, not suspicion. Worry, is all. Last I'd heard you were all on the run, or something, I was afraid it'd caught up, maybe."
Alfghar giggles from the back of the room, "Knocking a student out. How lame. It would have been MUCH more evil of you to tie her up somewhere."
Krugen is still asleep. Must have been one hell of a party last night, eh?
Ari sits a little stunned, byt all that's going on... but a whizzing paper ball flies past her. Now, that is something she's familiar with, at least. She narrows her eyes in concentration, then proceeds to send a spark of static whizzing after the paper ball.
Novina pauses, pursing her lips slightly, "Oh no dear, nothing like that. We've just been, busy with little ones. You understand, teaching them how to play." Novina then leans over and wraps her arms around Mirai' neck, whispering softly in her ear, "Now... how about you, Elfling? I sure hope you are doing oh so well..."
Novina raises up a hand and pulls down her right eyelid, sticking her tongue out at Alfghar from over Mirai' shoulder.
Validan finally regains control of his body, standing up stiffly ...oww oww oww cramps... walking to the back of the room to get away from other students, teacher, and stranger. Pulling the staff back out, holding it in both hands he holds his head low in prayer.
Alfghar arcs an eyebrow at Mirai, "Two things: If you need any help, just ask, and when this is all over, I need to talk to you about Justin and Razz."
Shiroi sighed. Her target is moving! Urgh. Oh, ooo, lesbo show up front.
Mirai is going to have problems, oh yes. "I've been...well. I've been. I almost wasn't, back in Tzen, though. Damn Nikeah. And I got back here just to realize that I probably wouldn't have been, here, either. But we're about patched up here, and Tzen is worlds away." She turns, or attempts to, without diengaging from Novina, to frown at Alfghar. "You could, oh, I dunno, stop him, if you're that bored." She inclines her head at Caller-boy charging up for his expulsion.
Novina gives a gentle little laugh, "My my, elfy, it seems like you've just had a world of fun. You didn't even think to invite me along for any of it? I'm hurt..."
Alfghar shrugs, and reaches into her robes, producing a small pin, which she throws in the direction of callerboi, "Gladly. Will you be needing anything else, coffee, tea, or maybe a few fireballs, while I am up?"
Mirai smirks. "Tea would be wonderful." And at Novina. "If you'd quit ceasing to exist every time I turn my back, maybe something could've been arranged."
Validan's stance changes slightly, as he stands taller and the prayer becomes louder with a constant prayer. Light slowly radiates from infront of him, around the staff finally surrounding it. Changing form the staff, makes into a fine 'spiritual' mace. "So.. who's up for some baseball?" he adds, turning around with the mace wielded in both hands.
Novina pulls back a little, tracing a finger down Mirai's cheek and along her jaw, "Now now, don't get bitter." Novina then stops, as if something came to mind, "Dear lady Mirai, you wouldn't mind doing, just a small, little favor for my sister and I, would you?" she asks, fluttering her eyelashes softly at Mirai.
Shiroi kicked off her chair and waved her hands. "Oh, I am, I am!" Before she was even done speaking, seven paper balls are rocketing towards Validan.
Ari ponders, and decideds that there have been enough projectiles distracting her. Despite her control, she reaches deep inside herself, and holds out a hand, fingers spread, attempting to send lightning bolts hurtling at each of the paper balls... and fails to control them. All she wanted was to pay closer attention to what Mirai had been talking about, though...
Mirai /nearly/ frowns at Nova. "Mmm, a favor, for you and your sister. Probably. I don't see why not. Explain?"
Krugen is happily napping. But not for long. Thanks to Ari's uncontrollable pyromania, he gets hit by a lightning bolt. Not very fun. It is even less fun when one realizes that he is usually wearing chainmail underneath his clothes. Double whammy. He manages to get blown out of his desk, and into a different bookshelf. Fun.
Validan is struck by one of the misguided bolts sending him to the ground twitching nervously. Upon the mace's departure of his hands, it retakes the shape of the staff. Twitching on the floor briefly. 'Great, first caught on fire... now shocked.. this place is going to be my death.' he hisses loudly.
Novina smiles and pulls Mirai a bit closer, "Well, we have a younger sister currently in Coneria... and see, we can't be watching her the entire time, we do have other things to deal with..." Novina leans close to Mirai's ear again, whispering ever so gently, barely audible, "So, lady Mirai, I was wondering.. Could perhaps, you help us watch her? She's staying at the castle, and it wouldn't be difficult... Just, keep an eye on her and make sure that Coneria' three generals don't get near her..."
Ari tries to call the lightning bolts back to her as she sees them going astray, but to no avail. Her concentration had been a little shattered, and... it looks like she did succeed a little, for one comes zooming back to zing her in the palm. Owwww...
Alfghar claps briefly, obviously amused at the others misfortune. She concentrates for a second, and points at the remaining bolts, which sort of...blow up. "Good spell, but you really need to work on the control." Ari says OOC: ... so does that mean the whole school gets dragged to coneria?
Shiroi darts out of the way as a bolt comes flying at her. Woo, now we're talking fun!
Ari recovers from being shocked, after a while, although a burn scar remains on her palm now. She shoots a glance at the elf hanging out at the back of the room, muttering: "That's what I was supposed to be doing -- WITH the rest of the class -- before everything went to the nether worlds."
This is not Krugens day. First, he was sleeping in class, then he gets a bookshelf on top of him. Okay, that he can deal with. But being crushed under yet ANOTHER bookshelf, AND getting eletrocuted, he can not. He promptly passes out.
Mirai makes a few connections, despite the quite powerful distraction currently leaning all over her. "Mmmm... your sister's name is Razz. Currently staying with the real head of the Blades. I'm...sure I can keep an eye on here, though I doubt it'll make Justin too happy that I'm trying to get close to her all of a sudden." She smiles faintly.
Novina laughs softly again, "Oh, Justin has other things to worry about, the King seems to be trying to make the moves on Razz as well. Though, we don't see him as a problem, since he isn't one of... them."
Validan regains himself, sitting up slightly in the process of dusting himself off. Standing up, with staff in hand. Walking to the door. "I believe.. this /was/ the wrong class." glaring at Mirai slightly. "Remember.. Head on Pike." he coughs loudly before exiting the classroom.
Ari sits quietly at her desk, turned to face Mirai. It's a miracle she hasn't said anything about the lightning bolts, but... she's sure that some extra work will be forthcoming after her talk is over. Or whatever that is that is going on.
Alfghar, having nothing better to do, walks over to the passed out fool, and kicks him in the head, hard enough to wake him up, but not so hard as to break his face. She then walks over towards Ari, and sits down at a desk near her.
Ari looks frankly interested in Alfghar. "Um, you aren't going to do something out-of-the-natural too, are you?" she whispers, hoping not to disturb anyone else. She's a little bored, really she is, although the expression of faked innocence on her face (especially after that mishap with control) might not display it.
Mirai nods, slowly. "I see. ...'Them'. I'll figure this out, though. Do you need, like, immediately? Or just to check once in a while? 's what I've been doing."
Alfghar shakes her head, "Not really, girl. I am not a fan of big magic shows. I prefer small tricks, they are much more useful."
Novina shrugs slightly, still smiling, "Oh... you know, we just want to know that she's safe. I'm sure she will be, but having an extra, strong person looking over her can't hurt, can't it?" Novina gives Mirai a peck on the cheek then hops off of the desk, slowly unwrapping her arms from around Mirai's neck, "I'll be in Coneria myself, I'm hoping to see you there, lady Mirai."
Alfghar asks, "Actually, seeing as how this is a classroom and all...and there is not much else to do...what would you like to learn about? I am not quite as good as Mirai, but I know of a few tricks that might be useful."
Ari grins at Alfghar. "Tricks? Hmmm..." Feeling a little mischevious today, she is. Glancing at Mirai to see if she's still occupied, she looks at Alfghar intently as she turns back. "Maybe just one, short one?"
Alfghar hmms.
Alfghar seems to nod slightly, and turning to Ari, "How would you like to learn how to float? As in, suspend your body a couple of inches off of the ground?"
Mirai nods, again, and turns to face the rest of the class. What's left of the class, anyways; most of them had brains and got out when the desks started flying. Oh, /gods/, she'd be hearing about this if she weren't Head. "Do take care, then. I'll expect to see you when I get there."
Shiroi is up and about again, looking for new sources of interest. Well, the bolt-tossing elf girl is engaged in another conversation, let us make a good impression by not being rude and interrupting! ... Ooo, the women kissed up front.... Nah. Paper ball target left the room, perhaps she would go after- Oooo, passed out boy buried under bookshelf, POTENTIAL.
Novina pauses by the door, shrugging off the robe and tossing it on a chair, "She'll... probably want that back." then, as Mirai had previously stated, just seems to cease to exist, vanishing without a pause.
Ari peers quizically at Alfghar. "Float? What for?" Not that you really need to know what tricks are for anyway, they're just fun... but she's sure her guardians would tan her hide if she learnt something... that they didn't approve of.
Shiroi made her way over to the fallen bookshelf, and with one heave, pushed it back up again. Of course, some more books fell off and hit the poor unconscious boy on the head, but she figured he wouldn't feel it much anyways. "Hello~? Are we still alive?" Nudge. Nudge. Hmmm, he's not responding to boots.
Alfghar shrugs, "It can be used for various things. Not making any noise is a good use of it. Here is what you do." She leans closer to Ari so that nobody else can hear what she is saying. As she is whispering, she makes various motions with her arms, apparently describing something.
Krugen groans, as the books hit him on the head, "...You know...a simple, 'Hi, my name is girl. Would you like me to call the medics?' Or, 'Hi, I bet that hurt, do you need any help?' would have been nicer".
Ari pays careful attention... it doesn't sound right-out weird, so... perhaps it's ok. She fails to notice that Mirai is no longer distracted, and, well, might be gathering what's left of the class back togther soon. She doesn't exactly understand part of the descriptions though, and asks for some clarification. And asks a question of her own: "Does this work anywhere, or only...?"
Mirai wanders up the rows, about to the middle of the room, and collapses into a random desk. No, the room isn't really as much of a mess as it looks. She's sure it's ended up worse than this after regular classes. Except maybe for the splintered desk. That's probably more likely in the swordmagic classrooms. She frowns at the current most pressing problem, Nameless Oddly-Dressed Gatecrasher. Currently tormenting the poor trapped Krugen. "D'you know white magic?" Could be addressed at either of them.
Alfghar nods, "Anywhere, and lasts as long as you can keep concentrating. Useful for sneaking up on people. If you wanted to tempt fate, you could use it to sneak sneak up on Mirai, but even /I/ would not do that."
Ari nods solemnly, a twinkle in her eye. She's known Mirai for long enough, perhaps, that she knows a little bit of what her mentor is capable of. Which is more than enough to scare her, sometimes. "T'ank you", she grins.
Alfghar nods.
Krugen mutters something about how that is not helping him any, "Well, I do, but I do not think that helps me in my current situation. You see, I was under the impression that one had to be capable of moving their arms to perform white magic. Currently, I can not."
Ari files that trick away somewhere in the inner recesses of her mind, those not occupied by genetic memories of sorts. It isn't likely she'll have much call for floating, since she prefers to actually swing through trees and all, or run/ride with other creatures... but... it might just be useful someday.
Mirai looks concerned, and stands up, perhaps to assist Shiroi in getting the damn bookcase off Krugen before he suffocates? "Well, all it requires is laying your hands on the target. Your hands are touching you, aren't they?"
Ari turns away from Alfghar, and notices the little scene. "Um, could we float that bookcase? You know, help or something?" She stands up, dusting off her robe (why -are- these classrooms sooo dusty?) and hops off her stool (or whatever).
Shiroi grinned down at Krugen. "Well, the thing is, my name is /not/ girl, so therefore I cannot say 'hi, my name is girl', 'cz that'd be a lie, and I don't lie, I merely fabricate romances. A girl named Girl is not romantic, it is sad." - Oh, the elf teacher person is speaking to her again, yay! Attention! "The last world I'm in - magic doesn't exist but in fantasy stories and white, padded rooms, ma'am. Sorry about that."
Krugen mutters.
Alfghar shrugs, "I am not all that good with healing magic, Mirai. I do believe that is your forte. Go for it."
Mirai nods, then, noting a fact. "Well. It does here, as I'm sure you've seen." Mustering a bit of energy, she demonstrates to Krugen that white magic in fact /doesn't/ all require somatic components. The healing light shines over him for perhaps a moment, until she stops chanting, and offers him a hand up.
Krugen gladly takes the proferred hand, "Have fun teaching, ma'am?"
Alfghar says, "As to the reason for me being here in the first place...Like the nice, desk deconstructing lady said, Kaze is going to try to seduce Razz. Which should be interesting, but he is also going to try to get Justin away from hshould be interesting, but he is also going to try to get Justin away from her, which really must not happen. Now, no matter what, I can not interfere in this one. Which is why I sought you out, Mirai."
Ari walks over to Mirai, and Krugen, silent and waiting... for? Nothing much, just for things to perhaps go back to normal.
Mirai hopes Ari realizes just how likely that is. She hauls Krugen to his feet, more or less, and frowns. "Uhm. Do you want them out of there, then? I can probably arrange that pretty easily. I haven't had any trouble getting in or out so far."
Alfghar shrugs.
Alfghar says, "Whatever you choose to do with them. I could continue the teaching, if you would like, whilst you take care of this...matter."
Mirai shakes her head, and looks over the shambles once more. "Class is /dismissed/. Oh, well. At least they won't ask me to again."
Shiroi sat back on a desk behind her. "Well, that was fun."
Krugen grumbles, "More than you can imagine."
Ari shoots a glance and comment at Shiroi: "It usually isn't."
Shiroi smirks. "Must be because I'm here!"
Mirai grins, faintly, at Shiroi. "Oh, yes, it's all clear now. This was /all/ your doing. All of it. Just who are you, anyways?"
Shiroi returns the grin, and pushes herself off the desk. Making a practiced bow, she announced "Shiroi Kirameki, former resident of the planet Earth, as I am sure I am not on it, or someone is playing a very elaborate joke on me. A student of St. Tempus Memoria Academy, a prominent private facility where I'm from, overrun by people who likes to name themselves after demons and devils... and act like them too." She shrugged. "Well, can anyone tell me where I am now?"
Krugen nods at Mirai, "Well, I am all for going back to my room for some much needed sleep. Goodday."
Ari thinks she recognizes a Mirai-outburst in the making, and quickly scampers out of the door -- since class is dismissed, after all.
Mirai returns the bow. "The fourth floor Red Magic classroom or the Blades of the Red Heart Academy, in the kingdom of Tycoon, on Mallora. One of the four Realms. You seem to be holding up remarkably well, so far, so I suppose I can put it to you whether you want to stay here for now or go find someplace more or less exciting."
Alfghar smirks, and waves at Mirai, "I will be seeing you around." Uncharacteristically, she exits out of the door, instead of doing that generic mage exit thing. Wow.
Mirai is impressed. She didn't really think she merited that much courtesy from her.
Shiroi crossed her arms again. "Hmm, I may decide to do a bit of exploring - is there anyway you can send me back, tho? I have a boyfriend who might or might not be waiting, and some friends with deep issues to comfort - to the furtherest of my abilities, that is."
Mirai frowns. "...not especially likely, I'm afraid. The Gate is rather annoyingly one-way. Or I can /assure/ you, I wouldn't be here talking to you."
Shiroi eyed Mirai, and processed that bit of information over her mind. "Aah, a fellow gate crasher? Was your last world much different from this one?"
Mirai shrugs. "Not really. Like this only moreso. I think. My memory is a bit, ahh... broken, around that bit of my past."
Shiroi nods, then shrugs. "Aah, who needs wholesome memories anyways? Less fun, I really must say." She seems to ponder at the ceiling for a moment. "So, magic is a common thing around? How's science and technology doing? And politics? What kinda system is being run here?"
Mirai drops back into a desk, again; this looks to be a long discussion starting. "Tycoon is a monarchy, as I said. That's what most nations and city-states boil down to around here. Some have elected heads, rather than true monarchs, but that's about the only difference. Magic is the standard, I suppose, but technology is on its way in."
Shiroi smirked. "Sent anyone to the moon yet? ... /is/ there a moon around?"
Mirai shrugs. "Several, depends on which realm your in. Daoma has. More to the point, the moon has sent people here. Lots of them, and they were apparently too excited to wait to get back, to judge by all the half-lunarians running around."
Shiroi raised an eyebrow. "Half-lunarians? I'm not quite familiar with that term."
Mirai raises an eyebrow. "Lunarian. Moon-man, yes? And, so, a half-lunarian would be someone with one lunarian parent."
Shiroi nods. "Touche. But what kinds of people do you have in this world? I've noticed quite a lot of elves."
Mirai smiles. "Indeed. We're really more of a minority, it's just, this is a magic school. Mostly. And what are elves without magic?"
Shiroi shrugs. "I wouldn't know, haven't met much elves in my life time, and something tells me that they might be somewhat different from the ones that I'd read in various fantasy novels. Tho, how would one fare without magic, in this world?"
Mirai shrugs. "Just fine. Lots of people do it. There isn't really /much/ you can do with magic that you can't do without, and if it's really that pressing you can probably find a caster to do it for you."
Shiroi nodded, and seems to spend a moment in thought.... a short moment, mind you. "Well," Shiroi stretched. "I suppose I should settle a bit before going out to explore this new, magical world. And I was just getting used to the last one too." She sighs dramatically, but doesn't seem to be much bothered by it. "I thank you for your time, ma'am. I think I'll be fine on my own from now on."
Mirai nods. "Well. If you need anything, call. I have a...rather easier time getting around these worlds than most."
Shiroi levels a gaze at Mirai. "I don't suppose you already have cell phones?"
Mirai gestures out the door. "Darkwood has. I don't carry one, though. There are lots of ways to keep in touch, though."
Shiroi whistled again. "Indeed. What other ways are you suggesting?"
Mirai shrugs. "Make a wish. Think happy thoughts. Just go yell out a door. I'm already everywhere at once, I'll probably hear it regardless."
Shiroi has a rather twisted smirk on her face. "Really, the trouble with switching worlds is that you can never tell jokes and sarcasms all that well anymore."
Razz asks: Aah, I forgot, what is your name again?
Mirai says: Mirai Sekenneri. A pleasure to make your acquiantance, and suchlike.
Shiroi nodded again. "Why thank you. I do believe that's the first very time I'd heard that sentence in my entire life! I think I like this world."
Mirai grins widely. "Oh, I should think most anyone would be pleased to make your acquiantance."
Shiroi grinned once more, winked, and made a flourish of a bow before backing out of the room.
