He is a above-average character and has well-rounded statistics as well as great dragon magic.

You will find her with a weird since of humor she laughs in situations that no one shouldn't have laughed. She is a good fighter with high attack power and high defense but is hopeless in magic. Her attacks are a really inaccurate when you need them to hit but that doesn't make her a bad character. She is suitable in all places. She fights well when you place her in the front row and she support your party when you place her in the back row. Ryu's Dragon Forms

Aura

This is Ryu's first dragon form. It's also his cheapest (but by no means 'cheap') in terms of magic cost. The good news is that you get the power early in the game, far earlier than the first dragons in the other games. You get it very shortly after Fou-Lu gets his Astral Dragon transformation, while still in the first Chapter. The downside is that you won't find any new dragon forms (except for the Berserk Kaiser) until much later in the game, so get used to this one. You'll be using it a lot. Plus, while you get the *form* at the start of the game, you don't get the Dragon Breath attack until you get the Kaiser, either.
upgrade:none

Wyvern

The Fire Gem that gives Ryu this form is found in Mount Giga area. It grants Ryu fire-based powers, leaving him weak to water/ice powers, more than usual. It also provides a few ability-boosting spells, but nothing other members of your party don't also have. Let him go offensive, and let Cray boost people's stats if they need it.
upgrade: Weyr

Behemoth

It still seems strange to equate the little dragon-man form with what was the giant Behemoth in BoF3. Then again, the dragon in the MeteorStrike sequence - showing what looks like the BoF3 Behemoth after its been through hard times (some of its horns are broken off) - is definitely familiar. And once again, this form is still slow, losing half of Ryu's Agility and Wisdom scores, and it's weak to wind attacks. The Earth Gem for this form is found in the mystery area between Pabpab and Saldine, second "room" (coming from Pabpab), near the center of the large tree-covered island in the middle. It's a blob of green in the middle of green grass in the middle of a green island, so it's a bit difficult to see.
upgrade: Mammoth

Myrmidon

The Myrmidon dragon really looks like a tall guy in armor and a big sword. (Note also that Myrmidon is the name of the *basic* dragon form, not the advanced one as in BoF3). The only dragon-like traits are the shield-like claw for the left hand, and the large wings on his legs.
upgrade:Knight

Mutant

The full-dragon morph is small, and sadly cute, and very weak... except lowers enemies' stats to minimum, if it works (and, unlike most other stat-lowering powers, this one works fairly often). His other attacks all inflict status ailments. This is, a good form for doing indirect damage, while your other party members wail on the weakened foes. It causes a severe *drop* in most of Ryu's stats, except for Wisdom.
Upgrade: Punk

Kaiser

This is the second dragon-form you get in the game... but it's berserk and uncontrollable until you find all the Dragon Summons, which you don't get until later. On the bright side, even uncontrolled, Ryu *usually* uses KaiserBreath on the opponents each round, though he will occassionally attack a random target, sometimes even your friends.
Upgrade:None

Fou-Lu Dragon Forms

Astral Dragon

This is the first dragon you'll get in the game, even before getting Aura. You'll get this during Fou-Lu's first scenario. Even though you get it fast it is sadly Fou-Lu's only dragon for a long time. But with the Eraser it will pretty much be all you need in his scenarios, and, unlike Ryu's Aura Dragon, the Astral Dragon gets his breath attack the first time you use him.
Upgrade: none

Serpent

This is, Fou-Lu's version of the Wyvern. It has ice attacks instead of fire attacks, and it also has attacks that reduce the opponent's abilities, rather than attacks to increase the party's abilities. The American version features the odd name 'Waterspout' for its breath attack, which is a giant spiked ball of ice, as opposed to the Japanese name Hell-Blizzard. It is, of course, vulnerable to fire attacks.
Upgrade:Peist

Behemoth

This form is nearly identical to Ryu's dragon form, and he gets it when Ryu does. Notice that Fou-Lu's Behemoth form has slightly different stat bonuses than Ryu's.
Upgrade:Mammoth

Tyrant

Fou-Lu's version of the Kaiser. It's nearly identical, except for its breath attack, its element (it has a Level 3 Water attack instead of Level 3 Fire), and, as befits the Dark Dragons, Death instead of Resurrect. Pretty much in this form there opposites of each other.
Upgrade:none

The ultimate dragon form

Infini

*The* most powerful dragon in the game. For the sake of avoiding spoilers, I'll leave out how to get it entirely, as well as who gets it. It has Tyrant's breath attack, all three levels of all four elemental dragon spells, and a diffrent ability, Soul Rend, that will never miss. appearance
Infini is just the Tyrant polygonal model, only a different color. It has four 'wings' that are twisted, and there's a holographic 'peacock's tail' behind it. Its Dark Wave attack is identical to Tyrant's in terms of animation, the only chage is that it shows Infini unleashing the attack.
