Tenchi!
(No Need To Read This)

No need for Ryoko (Chapter Two)

“Tenchi! … Tenchi!” He could hear the calls of his grandfather, yet his heart stopped him from
responding. “It’s not real, what I saw was a hallucination, that cannot have happened; this is reality.” As he rambled on in his mind. Grandfather found Tenchi in front of the gate, cuddling against the gate with the lock and chain in his fist. Tenchi slowly inched his way to his feet, coughing and gagging on the way up. As Tenchi composed himself and choked down the fast and loud beating of his
heart into his stomach, he began to speak gradually. “ Grandpa I’m sorry but I couldn’t help but check it out for myself. But something …… something urged me on, I’m sorry.” Tenchi sadly said. Grandpa sighed, looking up at the sky he remembered his grandson  venturing out to the cave, hanging on the gate, saying that he saw a woman disappear through the gate and into the cave. And through all the years Tenchi would try to steal the keys to the cave (now victorious), Tenchi would never give up and that always gave Grandpa a smile.
“Tenchi,
understand this, what you saw is the demon of legend the one that battle the heroic warrior Yosho. And is …was once very real, I saw it for myself and it is not just a tale, you know now that I’m right.” Grandpa said. He walked over to Tenchi and said “What I’ve said can never can be repeated to anybody else, have I made myself clear?” Tenchi nodded.
Then Grandpa turned around and whispered  “Now join me for some tea.” Tenchi replied “Yes Sir.” And then followed him to the shrine. That night Tenchi laid there staring at the stars through the sky light can’t help but wondering what it was that he saw was, its form didn’t looked like a demon, more like a mummy with a face of demon. “Demon …… could that be what I saw but what of the girl, the vision of the girl that hung around the cave; the one I always used to see as a boy …… what about her ……” He thought. Slowly, now drifting into sleep. Before he knew it he started to dream. He began to dream about the cave, it was typical kind of cave, reeked of decay, the filth of bowel and bladder of rodents and other vermin and of course slimy, oozy water with the fragrance all its own. That made, Tenchi scrunch his face. He remembered walking down the path, the water and moss brushing gently like a toothbrush against his feet and sandals, the smell making pushing him to the verge of vomiting, still his mind stayed focused on the right path. “Get a hold of yourself, you made it this far push the damn envelope Tenchi.” He remembered that to keep going. If it was the mess (bowel and bladder mess) a sign and affect to keep the troublesome out and secrets kept well hidden. This did not stop him. When Tenchi thought the tunnel had no end and that it was the abyss of passageways, he came across a small little shrine the size of a dollhouse. There on the little shrine two small doors were tied together at the knobs with a red rope, to the side of the shrine painted on it were characters saying: “Do not remove the sword.” Tenchi looked around but saw no trace of a sword. “ They got to be kidding, what sword.” He thought. What he saw was moss, rocks, and the shrine. Eventually his curiosity got the best of him and when he untied the knot, all he did was stand there, rope in hand deciding whether or not if going furthe
r
was a brilliant idea or going on straight on to an execution for going to far. “Tenchi !” He could just hear his grandfather yelling and scolding him. The thoughts of punishment spread faster than a forest fire in his mind, yet being trapped in a forest fire would be grand then rather be punished
by his dad or grandpa. He murmured to himself. “If you let fear consume your being, the dark side of the soul will become your wicked friend and light will disappear.” Realizing what he said, that speech meant he listened to grandpa or watch too many star wars flicks. Tenchi sighed. “God that sounded stupid.” He said. He step towards the doors of the shrine, and carefully creaked them open. Looking upon a handle to what had to be the sword the sign said about, he stared at it for a while. “No strings, doesn’t seem to be a lever, I guess its not a booby trap.” He flicked it a couple of times and jiggled it around carefully just to make sure. Nothing.
He looked at it again, it had a
rounded almost mushroom dome shaped tip, with three jewels sticking out of both sides, and the base looked like a weaved basket into a thick stick. Tenchi started to pull the sword out and broke a ¼ of the way up, now leaving him with a rusty broken antiquity. “Now what am I going to do, its broken, jeez I’m going to get severely punished for this, ah ma … what!?, what was that!?” Tenchi turned around and saw nothing. The earth began to tremble, it was to soft and slow to be an earthquake, from above a loud crack rang out, a rock the size of Tenchi’s head plummeted to the floor. From the where the rock descended, a light shined to the left of the shrine pointing to a crack in the wall big enough to fit Tenchi through. Tenchi peered into the hole in the wall, a dim light illuminated at
an angle aiming slightly down. Tenchi inched his way through the crack and suddenly slid
down the slide like path and hit the bottom floor with a joint breaking thud. “Ouch, ouch, ouch!” He shouted with an echo followed by it. He looked around and it startled Tenchi when
he looked in the middle of the room to find a rock the size of a king bed levitating in mid air.
With his mouth wide open and stuttering, he was shocked and happy to have find the demon of legend trapped in the capsule, executed by the warrior Yosho, also of the legendary story.
“The demon, since 700 years I’m staring at the demon … Ryoko.” Noticing the pool surrounding the capsule, Tenchi leaned forward to look in at his reflection. “Look at me; my face is dirty.” He said. Tenchi took out a small handkerchief doused in the water. Before the handkerchief touched Tenchi’s face the mud dissolved into the handkerchief, this left Tenchi stunned. He looked again into the water he saw his face clean as a whistle, peering deep into the reflection he caught a glimpse of a thin wire connecting to the capsule, as well a three  other wires connecting to the middle of the capsule. Tenchi reached up and flicked the wire a
couple of times and walked away to the way he came in. Suddenly the walls started to crack and peel and the room, shook madly. He turned around to see the wire snap in half, the capsule
swung around like a piñata. It brutally swung to the front to the back and to each side. Tenchi yelled out louder than the sound of the cave crumbling. ”I got to get out of here!” He shouted.
Examining the cave he saw a large abnormal rock that seemed to be misplaced. He speeded over to the rock, lost his balanced and slides into home and hits the rock with the ball of his foot, to crack the rock into pieces, (normally it would of hurt, but the rock was made of harden mud). After the mud rock crumbled, Tenchi lit a match and peeked into a hole the size of a Great Dane. By now the crumbling stopped and this caught Tenchi’s attention, he turned around to see the capsule hanging by the last steel thread. He sighed, then his heart began to race, when he heard the steel thread being stretched and pulled, he immediately hid in the hole.
The cable being pulled apart made a sound that Tenchi started to go deaf. The cable stopped the shrieking and gave way to a boom that seemed worse than the shrieking. For a while Tenchi couldn’t hear anything not even his thoughts, 7 minutes have past and he wormed out of the hole with his hands on his ears. The first thing he notices was the capsule drowning in the pool of water and
the rest of the water was 10 ft towards him. It laid open, cracked with water draining into the capsule. Tenchi walked over the puddle of water to see inside of broken capsule, the demon he so wanted to see so much was laying in there, with arms crossed over its chest (like a vampire) and what appeared to be a mask over its face. The mask looked like a devil’s opera mask, the demon seemed to be a mummy. “This … is …  Ryoko, the legendary demon whom fought the warrior Yosho; and I’m staring right at the demon.” Tenchi thought.
The rest o
f his thoughts were: The girl always by the cave in his childhood. His Dad and Grandpa and his Mother Achika. Staring into the depths of his mind, in which he stood still for several minutes. He snapped out of it and back into the sight of Ryoko, he reached over to take off the mask and the demon’s hand lunged out, grabbing his forearm and dug its nails deep.
Tenchi growled in pain. Tenchi saw a yellow glow that was its eyes. The demon struggled to get up, then, still clinging to Tenchi’s arm, the demon stood up straight up and slowly pulling Tenchi towards its self. Tenchi’s arm started to bleed, taking no more, Tenchi punched the mask and the mask broke half way off the demon’s face. “That face … it’s the girl by cave; she’s Ryoko?” Tenchi said startled. The demon looked at Tenchi angrily, Ryoko’s expression then went blank, she closed her eyes, she mouthed words saying: “Why did you hit me? I’m glad you remembered me.” It took Tenchi awhile to piece it together, he sighed then said: “Why? Why are you hurting me … Ryo … ko?” Ryoko let go, she saw the blood leaned over softly and washed off the blood in the water that’s surrounding her. Ryoko mouthed more words to Tenchi: “I’m sorry …” Then gently her voice began appear. “Your right I am that girl from dreams. It was so cold in here, why didn’t you come back anymore? I was so lonely. Why Tenchi?”  Ryoko took off the other half of the mask, and reveal a beautiful young looking lady. Ryoko’s eyes illuminated a light yellow glow. “Kiss me Tenchi.”  Tenchi’s eyes dilated and fell subjected to a trance. He inched his way to Ryoko, he extended his arms out to Ryoko with the broken sword in hand. Ryoko reached out for his arms. A bright glow came for the gems in the butt of the sword. “Yosho’s sword.” It sparked and shocked Ryoko; Tenchi awoke from the trance and pulled back the sword. The shock sent Ryoko flying back into the capsule. Tenchi darted up the slide while hearing Ryoko calling him a “traitor” and a “coward”.
As Tenchi recalled all this the dream the word “traitor” woke him up, gasping and gagging in deep breaths. “Traitor … traitor, how am I the traitor?” At the foot of
the bed, he leaned over and grabbed the sword. Since all that happened yesterday he didn’t notice, what he notice now.
The part of the sword that broke off was tied with rope and rusted thin steel thread; Tenchi fell back to the pillow. “Clock, what time is it?” Tenchi asked. The clock replied “Its 4:40 a.m.” Clutching the sword, he rose out of bed and went down stairs to the kitchen. In the kitchen he scavenged for a pair of pliers and a sharp knife. The outer layer (which was the rusty steel thread) gave Tenchi trouble for about half an hour, the steel eventually gave way and then he started to slice through the ropes. “Is there something the warrior Yosho is trying to hide?”
When the work had been done, what he saw was … nothing. “If the blade was attached then what of the base?” Sighing deeply, thinking a lot of time spent, Tenchi hummed a song and tapping the top the sword’s base on the counter gently to the rhythm. I mid chorus of humming, Tenchi saw a faint blue lig
htning spark emanate from the top of the sword. “What!” He thought. The blue light seemed eerie, he tried twisting both ends, trying to see if the handle is or was running on batteries. Then out of the blue, whispers came out of the darkness, a soft gentle voice of that of a loving parent, calling out “Tenchi … Tenchi come back to me.”
Tenchi: “Ryoko?”
Ryoko: “com
e to me”
Tenchi:
“are you truly the demon of legend?”
Ryok
o: “yes I am the true demon of legend, but forget that … come to me.”
T
enchi: “what do you want from me?”
Ryoko: “just you and all I want is you, you remember me don’t you? The girl from your childhood but why didn’t you come to visit anymore I’m so lonely come to me Tenchi.”
Tenchi: “I remember, the girl that goes through bars as if it was water.”
Ryoko: “come to me, give me the sword.”
Tenchi: “What! No way, uh uh I need to know what is this or if this is a sword, and what about the blue lightning spark that came out and I can't find out how.”
This made her angry; he could hear her growling and grinding her teeth.
Ryoko: “Give me the sword!!”
Tenchi: “No.”
From the corner in front of him to the right a pair of yellow glowing eyes lit up the room.
Ryoko came dashing towards Tenchi, Ryoko summoned energy into the right in her palm and clenched down hard and form her energy sword, 2ft from striking Tenchi, she was thrown into the wall from an energy blast. She looked to see what had happen, an energy field surrounded Tenchi. “The sword, its protecting him … damn, now what.” She thought.
Tenchi opened his eyes and looked to see the energy field slowly diminishing into the air.
“What’s going on? Where did that energy field come from?” Tenchi thought.
Ryoko’s mind raced the thoughts of Tenchi the boy she watched over was not just a human but also a juraian? “Tenchi … a juraian? And if so how did access the power if he doesn’t know about the sword’s power?” She mumbled. Tenchi began wondering that if the sword she wanted, contained something wicked that powers her than he has to protect it until defeat.
Ryoko dashed at him, then the sword without question formed the katana energy blade, rose Tenchi’s arm up and then forced down on a arch, Tenchi then saw an
half an arm flying past him and into the kitchen sink. Tenchi looked over at Ryoko and saw her staring at the other half part of her arm that is still attached; she turned to Tenchi and smiled. “And now for my next trick I shall make what disappeared, reappear before our very eyes!” She exclaimed in a magician’s voice. “Drum roll please.” She said. Tenchi grabbed a ladle and a wooden spoon and began drum rolling on the rubber trashcan nearby. “Now ladies and gentlemen prepare to be dazzled!” She shouted. Ryoko pulled out a large silver handkerchief, lifted the limb and placed it on the limb. With a quick thrust forward her arm was whole. Tenchi stopped the drum roll and stood up to clap, Ryoko blew fake audience kisses. Ryoko then light a few firecrackers and pretending that it was a crowd clap and screaming for an encore. And then she vanished.
After that Tenchi clapped and whooped and hollered. “Tenchi! What are you clapping for!?”
His Father yelled. “It was peaceful 5 seconds ago, you just woke up the whole house, I just fell asleep!” Tenchi apologized and ma
de up an accuse. Two days later, now it’s Monday. School went by boringly and dull. After walking home, (because he missed the afternoon bus) he did his chores being tired from walk and chores he headed up to his room. In his room he laid over the middle of his bed, it felt kind of strange; but he ignored it. Tenchi closed his eyes and
reminisced about
the past week. For about a couple hours he slept and dreamed. When he woke up, he saw Ryoko sitting and peaceful watching him with a smile. Of course he freaked and smeared himself across the wall. “Ryoko, what are you doing here!?” He shouted.
Well I’m moving in with you.” She said. “But, but, but how?” He asked  “Well, I told your old man that it’s a long ways to your school and to my so called house and that I can stay when I want, but all I have to do is to check in with my imaginary parents.” She giggled at the end of her speech. Tenchi unclenched and sighed gently, as not to give off a sign of depression.

And that’s how I met Ryoko … Fade to black.
