In Memory ofVirginia E. Bain"Ginny"March 24, 1935 - July 14, 2001 |

In November 2000, we found out that Ginny had Lung Cancer. About March, we all thought she had it beat. Well, the doctor thought he didn't shoot her up enough with radiation so they gave her one more dose JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE. Well, she didn't need that last dose. After she came back from the doctor's, she was never the same. She went downhill from there. They damaged her lungs with so much radiation. Yes, she beat the cancer - but didn't beat the treatment. Ginny lost her battle in July. I remember in February she was so happy that she felt so good, she helped me shovel her driveway and dig her car out of the snow that the plow had just buried. Of course I tried to talk her out of it, but when she had her mind made up, there was no stopping this woman. It was hard to believe she went from shoveling that heavy snow to not being able to breath.
Her family was the most important thing to her. She has five children: Karen, Allen, Fran, Tom and Ken; nine grandchildren: Charisse, Eric, Kristen, Maya, Cameron, Melanie, Travis, Amanda and Kayleigh. Two great-grandchildren: Avery and Eryk.
Ginny loved the outdoors. My husband always tells me about the times they would camp at Raquette Lake. She loved to watch the birds come to her feeders. She has made some awesome birdhouses. That is why I chose birdhouses at the top of this page. I am looking for a nice background of birdhouse to use. She made us a birdhouse for Christmas one year in the shape of our firehouse and post office that we live next door to. Ken is a member of the local fire department. She also loved to work in her wood shop. I loved to see what she would make next.
