I have selected 4.5" apperture telescope mainly
Because it is
rather easy to make, cheaper and
very light to be carried wherever you want
hence much more used.

You will love to use it extensively instead of keeping it idle
Remember, the telescope which is extensively used is better
rather than the one which is bigger but occasionaly used.

Because of maiden attempt it may lack perfectness. Though you are satisfied with its performance, a feeling is inherent that you could have done better and that in next attempt you will certainly make better than this present telescope.

So, having made 4.5", you become confident of making better telescopes.
Secondly some interest is developed after frequently using 4.5". You become serious in astronomy, develop a craving to have big aperture telescope to see deep spaceview. So you are tempted to make another 6-8 inch or bigger appeture telescopes, which you will now certainly be able to make better than the previous one. Those will become an asset and you will feel proud.
