Almanac The almanac consits of the following sections: Seasons There are 4 main seasons that occur in the Northern Realms. They are Greengrass, Highsun, Harvestide,and Deepwinter.The Spring Equinox is shown by the pale red Rhea showing in the night sky. Myth has it that the ancients took the pale color of Rhea to mean that the coming of the Greengrass. Likewise the summer solstice is shown by the bright red Rhea showing in the night sky this was taken as meaning that the hottest days of the year were approaching. The fall equinox, indicated by the pale white Albedo, noted that the cold weather was on the way. The winter solstice, which was indicated by the bright moon Albedo indicated that the coldest weather had arrived and would soon pass. Calendar The calendar for the Northern Realms consists of 365 days arranged into 12 months. These months are comprised of 28 days that follow the Lunar cycle. The begining of each of the four seasons coincide with the sightings of the two smaller moons Rhea (red) and Albedo (white). Astrology Climate Except in the northern regions the temperatures seldom dip below freezing except for the winter months and at night during the ealry sping and late autumn. In the depths of winter, there will be a few days when the temperature reaches zero then a gradual warming begins. The northeast region tends to be colder, as the seas of these regions cause winter to linger longer. Both spring and summer are portracted seasons, by and large summer in the central lands lasts five months or longer. Races There are five major races in the land of Aralon.
