This lesson was developed for a Web-Quest project for Etec 424 at Texas A&M Commerce. This lesson is about the civil war. The students will be able to name battles and what industries were hurt or helped by the war from the Texas standpoint.. This is part of TEKS component 113.23 section B(5). This lesson is geared towards the seventh grade level in history. This has a little of math when dealing with the industries. Writing has big part in this lesson with the papers that are to be done. This can easily be moved to American history which is done in 8th grade. The students will need to know the causes of the civil war and a good understanding of what the civil war was about. They will also need to know the basis of doing research since they will be doing a lot of it in this lesson. Curriculum Standards History Standards Addressed
