All Hallows Eve........October 31st.......you're no doubt familiar with it, who isn't, when we have so much Uncle Sam paraded across our T.V sets.
.....but of course the tradition isn't just American, its alive and kicking in Europe and here in Canada too. (Pumpkins, pumpkins,everywhere!!)
The hype and hysteria lead up, potentially rival Christmas commercialism...but not quite......a night of ghouls and goblins, pagan rituals...a night where we encourage our precious darlings to don disguise, scare each other witless and run up to the neighbours demanding candy....and if they don't give?...why, we play a trick on them!
We spend the next month rationing chocolate and explaining that ghosts and creepy monsters are entirely fictional creatures, they don't reside under the bed or in the basement, despite what little friend Tommy thought he saw or heard creeping about.......that was just Mummy on a bad hair day!!Despite all that, any excuse is a wonderful excuse for a ........so string up those ghouls, carve out that Jack-o-lantern, hang the piņata, make a potent witches brew (preferably substitute the 'eye of newt' with Bundy rum!!) and stock up on sweets and treats.............try out the Halloween recipe below, you'll be a hit with the little darlings!!

"Bucket of Worms"....yum,yum...
Ingredients:Packet of chocolate biscuits
Packet of instant choc. pudding/mousse
Packet of jelly snakes/spiders/other gross crawly things
Set out a bowl for each goblin.....mix up the mud (pudding) according to instructions, and divide into bowls.
Crush biscuits to a dirt consistency and sprinkle generously on top.
Stick in your "worms" and "bugs" at an appropriately appetizing angle, and.........................VoilaBon Appetite !! Come inside our spooky " house of horrors ", to catch up on some Autumn pictures of the Jones' family and friends.
