We had a good turn-out Saturday (Oct 18th) for the picnic (hog-fry) in the Kenwood Community Center. We arrived at about 10 O'clock in the morning and found Chuck Deerinwater behind the center, cooking hog meat in a big cast iron kettle.

It wasn't long before folks started showing up from all over; Elliot and EttaMae Pulliam came down from Kansas, Melba Burris came from Arkansas, Milo Yellowhead came from New Mexico, Ruby and I came from Texas and others came from OK City, Ada, Tulsa, and of course Tahlequah.

Some of those who enjoyed the picnic were: Harris Cully, Cecil Blackwood, Rex Vann, Joe Kingfisher, Fannie Houston, Robert & Kay Cornsilk, Thompson & Shirley Gouge, Mixwater & Nancy Buckskin, Sue Griffin, Loretta Lewis and many of our regulars.

For those of you who were unable to attend, you missed a good time of story telling, good eats and the company of old friends and fellow Sequoyah alumni.

I know some are going to say, "I didn't know about the picnic." Well it was announced in the last newsletter. If you didn't get the newsletter, perhaps it's because you aren't on the mailing list.

If you and your friends would like to be added to the mailing list and not miss the next newsletter, send your name and postal address to:

HINT: Please use your Sequoyah name so we'll know who you are . . . also include the years you attended.
