10" LX200 System
Meade 10" LX200 system used with Lumicon Giant Easy Guider and SBIG ST7E / CFW8 CCD Camera / Filter Wheel combination

This was my first telescope, purchased in November 2000 at
Scope City in San Francisco

Sam Sweiss sold it to me. Steve Garcia, a friend of Sam's and a then local astronomer, helped me figure out what to buy. It was quite a day for me, a truly life-changing experience but I did not realize it at the time. Steve has since moved to Hawaii chasing his dream of dark skies every night.

These images were taken in the first two months I owned a telescope. I bought a CCD camera right after buying my first telescope, an LX200
Imaging Train on LX200
After using the LX200 for about two months, I found that I wanted a longer focal length scope and a larger aperture, so I managed to exchange it for the CM1400/CI700 package, which I got at Scope City
