MX916 Filter Pocket

The motivation for bulding this accessory to provide a simple and low cost alternative to the purchase of a color filter wheel for use with a Starlight Express MX916 owned by a friend. With a set of 1.25" filters on-hand the problem was defined simply as providing a mechanism that could permit hot-swapping of 1.25" filters in the field while providing a static installation of a second 1.25" filter (such as an IR). The Starlight Express uses the so-called Pentax M42 thread. The difference between the Pentax thread and standard M42 T thread is the thread pitch. Standard M42 T thread is a 0.75mm thread pitch, while the Pentax M42 is a 1mm thread pitch.
