The Call |
Bullriding is a life of chance A graceful yet dangerous dance Some will win and some do fall And all too soon, some get God's call Riding gets into your heart forever to stay Even after old age has called you away It's a life known by but a few It was life to one man that I knew The best around, that was for sure Throwing his hand, bearin' down with his spur Winning most every battle with only one hand A true champion and friend was this man One day he drew a bull like he'd done all before When with a nod, they swung open the gate The cowboy rode on to meet his fate He lay still and breathless there on the floor Not a hat was on or a single eye dry As we all stood together and began to cry For we knew that he'd gotten his call But he'll live forever more..within us all (In memory of my fallen bullriding brothers and sisters) Darrin L.
