SERENITY...
All of us have a mentor...someone who inspired us to be more than what we thought we could be....but most of us have never taken the time to say thank you..............
Dear Eileen~
Have I ever told you how much you mean to me now and how much you meant to a young teenager many yrs. ago?
When you came into my life that fall in 1976, I felt so alone , in some ways - worthless...all I wanted was for someone to accept me for me and not the person they wanted  or expected me to be...
I had friends- good friends-but no adult to look to for praise,a sense of self-esteem,or to listen and care about what was going on inside my mixed up head- and it hurt so much ...but of course, I could never tell anyone that...my facade of happy-go-lucky, tough tomboy would be ruined and that was all I had...back then...
The first time you ever praised me was in an English class...and though I know I blew it off...it remained in my heart ....I began to trust you...that was a big issue back then...I used to run to school just to sit and talk with you before classes began...it was in your classroom that I felt like I belonged...that room was my safe haven back then...
There was always something special in your eyes-it was a sparkle that seemed to say: " I believe in you...You can make it -Just don't give up..." And I never did...Jr. high graduation came and I still remember you meeting me with roses to celebrate the evening...bet I never told you, but I still have those roses-pressed in a book of poetry...the only poetry book I owned back then...
Time flew...but you have never been more than a phone call away...Even in a severe thunderstorm, you cared enough to stand by my side as I married the man who I thought was the greatest at the time...though the marriage wasn't destined to last, one wonderful thing came of it- and today he is my own personal "growing giant"-my son and my buddy....and I make a point of letting him know how talented, special, and loved he is each day...because  someone (you) did that for me way back then...
Time is passing quickly~
Have you hugged someone special today?
  I have: (((YOU)))!!!
It's in the showing of gratitude that we gain true peace and serenity~ wherever possible pick up the phone, write out a card, or even say a prayer for that special someone who kept believing and sharing with you...it will place a permanent smile on both your hearts...
Make the world a brighter place...spread some gratitude today...and gain a piece of serenity as well...
In closing, even now in my darkest hrs. I can still hear your quiet belief when I need it most..." I will believe until you do...then I will keep believing..." And you did ...still do...But what you don't know is - through your belief, I learned faith in others too- and in essence, you have touched lives you have yet to meet...because I try to keep that faith alive each day...You are an angel that Heaven misses dearly but earth cherishes most....God bless you...and I love you...Lisa...........class of '78  & your friend always...........(((((many hugs)))))
