WFJA-FM 105.5 History

In 1950, WWGP-FM signed on with 490 watts, the sister station of Sanford's WWGP 1050 AM. The station, in the 1970s, changed their call letters to WFJA in honor of former owner Frank J. Abbott. WFJA airs a satellite-delivered oldies format and is applying to the FCC to move its antenna a few miles west of its current location to allow WRDU to move its signal to Auburn, allowing a Poquoson, Virginia station to boost its power.
