WKML-FM 95.7 History

WTSB-FM signed on December 1st, 1960, as the sister station of now-defunct Lumberton station WTSB 1340 AM (which later moved to 580 AM). On August 3rd, 1981, WTSB-FM became WGGS. WGGS was purchased by radio magnate George Beasley's Beasley Broadcasting in 1985 and moved to nearby Fayetteville as country formatted WKML, which debuted on June 15th of that year. WKML, along with Whiteville move-in and now co-owned urban station WZFX "Foxy 99", both stay either at or near the top of Fayetteville's ratings and blasts a powerful signal into the souther reaches of the Triangle area.
