Crag Y

Crag Y is Leicestershire's newest and only 'sport' crag, as presented in OTE 76. It's basically a small but clean granite face, and is worthwhile. There are four routes at present, with a mixture of good Petzl and staple bolts and some appalling looking 'old' bolts.

Access is a little tricky, it being on private worked land (so don't visit during working hours!). Because of this I am not revealing the exact location of it. It is up to you to work out where village "Q" is ...

2 Vampires F6b 2BR, PR to BB. The obvious arete, climbed mainly on the L (S. Allen)
3 QuornburgerF7c Bs to BB. The desperate crack - has now been led (D. Hughes)
4 Petzl Jump F7a+ 2 old BRs, PR to BB. The face right again on small holds (S. Allen)
Two routes (5 & 6) have recently been climbed on the walls left of Route 1: the corner is VS, while the wall is a bold E2 5c.
