The Sea

Sleep, my little darling child
Soon the morn will com
With sun bright and weather mind,
And the birds twittering some!

Yes, my child, then it may be
That to the shores we can go,
And you may behold the rolling sea,
Constant as anything you'll know.

For long, now, you have wished to go there
Where the sea birds shall always call.
The salty waves and blowin air
I hope shall satisfy your yall.

Yet when I see you, I despair,
Of ever you keeping your home,
When I see how much you care
For the wild and chance to roam.

So now I bid goodbye to thee,
Oh small child of my heard;
Tomorror you will leave me to the sea --
And then, your adventures may start.
