Some landscape pictures from Scotland

Highland cattle near Ben Nevis, Forth William.

Our weekend trip to the west coast of Scotland was pure enjoyment. We (me and my flat mates Jana and Inge and the boys from the neighbouring flat) drove in the darkness of the night through the mysterious Highlands and were housed in a small boarding house called Glen Nevis. It was a former barn, but peaceful and cosy any except the visitor of the night, the ghost mouse....

Landscapes were really gorgeous and we were just gasping our breath the next day when we drove near the mountains to hike there. I had seen highland cattle only in the postcards and almost jumped out of the window of the car when I saw these persistent looking creatures. These cattle look amazingly calm although someone was pressing the horn  a "few times" during the photo shots. The economy students aren't too interested in cows....

This view is also from the hiking trip.

Me, Holger, Jeff, Inge and Jana.

Jeff and me in the afternoon on your way to the top of the of the highest mountain in Scotland, Ben Nevis. We took our climbing not seriously enough and missed the top; the sunbathing was the most important part of the hiking I guess.

After two great days in Forth William we drove in the sunshine along the west coast and ended up to this beautiful
Eilean Donnan castle where Highlander was filmed. The surrounding mountains bathing in the sunshine with autumn colours were just splendid!

Again an astonishing viewpoint in Highlands.

  The same place as above.

This picture was taken just before Christmas. Slains Castle near Aberdeen. The light was really something weird. I could imagine Dracula into this castle! The castle was surrounded by steep, dangerous cliffs.

Ulquarts castle and Loch Ness. No monster Nessie here......

  The castle of Edinburgh.
