CASTES OF GOR
THE LOW CASTES INCLUDE:

CASTE OF MECHANTS: ~
White and Gold~ Containing literally hundreds of sub-castes this group is a very large Caste. Members of this Caste deal with selling and trading of merchandise for a profit. For as many products there areto be sold there are about that many sub-castes.

CASTE OF SLAVERS: ~
Blue and Yellow~ This Caste deals with the buying and seliing of human merchandise. It is a sub-caste of the Caste of Merchants.

CASTE OF MONEYLENDERS: This Caste is composed of the bankers of Gor. The members of this Caste are those who trade and speculate with money for profit. The only product they handle is money.

CASTES OF LIGHTERS: ~
Gray~ This caste conserns itself with lighting the tharlarion oil lamps used to provide illumination to the city streets.

CASTE OF BAKERS: ~
Orange and Brown~ This Caste consits of hundreds of sub-castes. Generally they are members who prepare vegetarian food and sa-tarna in its many forms.

CASTE OF BUTCHERS: ~
Gold and White~ This caste and its many sub-castes concern themselves with the acquisition and preparation of sa-tassna, all forms of edible Gorean meat. In conjuntion with the Caste of Bakers, this Caste and its many sub-castes are responsible for maintaining the majority of the Gorean industries involved with food services.

CASTE OF WINEMAKERS: This professional production of most fruit based Gorean alcohol is under the auspices of this Caste.

CASTE OF BREWERS: This Caste takes care of the production of the grain based alcohols.

CASTE OF SAILORS: There are several dozen sub-castes in this group. Each sub-caste has its own specialty. An example would be the BARGEMEN who steer river barges on the freshwater waterways of Gor.

CASTE OF FISHERMEN: This Caste is a sub-caste of the Caste of Sailors. They harvest the different varieties of Gorean fishes and sea life for human consumption. Some sub-castes include CASTE OF RIVER FISHERMEN, THASSA FISHERMAN, and NET MAKERS.

CASTE OFARTISANS: ~
Aqua and red~ This Caste is extremely broad. It includes many hundreds of sub-castes. Any production of hand-made goods for any use is considered to be a work of art.

CASTE OF POTMAKERS: ~
Brown and Green~ This Caste is a sub_caste of the Caste of Artisans. They produce vessels use to contain substances of all kinds.

CASTE OF SADDLE MAKERS: ~
Tan~ This Caste produces the saddlery, harness and tack used to manage all the various riding and draft beasts of Gor.

CASTE OF METAL WORKERS: ~
Gray~ A sub-caste of Artisans, they are concerned with the production of most metal items made on Gor. Some of the sub-castes of the one would inculde: SWORDS MAKERS, ARMORERS, and those that work with blacksmithing or farrier work repairing wagon wheels and shoing Gorean draft and riding animals.

CASTE OF CLOTH WORKERS: Another large and expansive Caste, this group contains many sub-castes. They are concerned with the professional production of woven cloth for use by the people of Gor.

CASTE OF TORTURERS: ~
Black and Red~ Found only umong the Wagon Peoples of the far south they are concidered to ne a sub-caste of the Caste of Artisans. An assumption may be that those of the Wagon Peoples consider the application of Torture as an art form.

CASTE OF MUNINCIPAL SEVANTS: ~
Gray~ Another Caste with many sub-castes. All concerning with providing various public services to the inhabitants of a particular city or village.

CASTES OF TARNS KEEPERS: ~
Gray and Green~ A sub-caste of the Animal Handlers. This Caste concerns itself with the care, feeding and training of the Gorean tarn, the winged-saddle bird of Gor. Also Sleen, Vart and Goat Keepers are in this Caste.

CASTE OF ASSASSINS: ~
Black~ This Caste is made up of those who kill for pay, once seen much on Gor, now seen very little. They are required by their Caste Codes to renounce all ties of freindship and family. In addition they claim no Homestone. They are feared by other Castes.

CASTE OF PEASANTS: ~
Brown~ This is the lowerest and most common Caste on Gor.  They do the planting and harvesting of the lands surrounding most cities which have been devided into plaots and set set aside for agriculture use. They refer to themselves as "The Ox on Which the Homestone Rests".
