River's Frozen Hope

life has been a winter's river
on a night of a new moon
its been this same night, every night
for two revolutions of the stars
i've been cracked several times
then refrozen several more
my life has become murky
and i don't even know how
when all this time
i thought there was no way
to stir up something frozen
yet she found a way, how amazing.

now cracks are disappearing
nothing seems to weigh as it once did
everything is getting lighter and brighter
how could this happen to me?
i believed, with all my heart
that i would remain here
slowly dying between the layers of the river's ice
cold blue eyes locked on the stars
and my heart forever locked between beats
yet i can almost feel your hands
that are melting the ice away
your lips almost upon mine again
i've missed you for so long
i never thought you heard my screams
but now i know you have heard me and found me
you've almost brought warmth to me
just a little more
and i'll live again, baby.
