The Celebration after the Attack
By Red Hope
March 2nd 2001

MomBard stretches her legs under her desk after finishing with writing A Scathingly Brilliant Idea. She smiles happily before gazing out her window at the low western sun. "Almost party time," she whispers. Deciding to get see how the village is doing, she gets up and strolls out.

"Hey Ma!" calls Red Hope, who is just strolling by but with a curious look.

"How are ya, bratt?" inquires MomBard with a sly grin.

"I'm alright." The list owner folds her arms. "Have you seen my artist milling about?"

The moderator considers for a second. "I heard Missy go by," she mentions casually. "I think over to Janelle's."

"Huh." Red Hope shrugs. "Thanks, catch ya later." She strolls off.

"See ya, babe." MomBard heads off towards the dining hut.

"Phyl!" calls Karena while jogging towards MomBard.

"Hey Queen Karena, how are ya?"

The Queen smiles sweetly and replies, "Quite well." She grasps MomBard's arm. "I need to… discuss something with you." She grins evilly. "Moderator to moderator."

Oh no, groans MomBard inwardly. "Let's go to the dining hut for this one," suggests the older Amazon.

The Kiwi Queen chuckles and nods in agreement.

Janelle glances up from the foot of her bed. "Hey Red," she greets with a bright smile.

"Hey," replies the bard. "Word on the street is Missy was by here."

"She was," confirms the Aussie bard. "But left a few minutes ago."

"Ah great," mutters the list owner. "She's always fast moving." She folds her arms, leans against the doorway, and smiles. "How's the side?"

Janelle peers down at her wounded side. "A lot better," she replies happily. "Even in a day it feels better."

"Think you'll be ready to part'ta hart'ta tonight?" teases the list owner.

"Oh yeah, definitely," states the Aussie bard proudly. "I'm glad we won yesterday."

Red Hope shakes her head. "It was a close one, but we did it." She nods and smiles. "Make sure you get plenty of rest with that wound."

Janelle grins and replies, "Yes, ma'am."

The list owner chuckles and states, "Well, gotta be off to find Missy. I'll see ya tonight, Janelle."

The Aussie bard panics. "Missy is in her hut," she quickly jumps in hastily.

The bard lifts herself off the doorway. "Oh?" She grins evilly. "Could you have said that any faster?"

Janelle smiles sheepishly. "Sorry, must be this medicine the healer gave me."

"Rrright," chides the list owner.

Janelle goes a little serious and states hesitantly, "But Michelle went back to… her hut." She nods.

"Uh huh." Red Hope smirks. "Thanks, Janelle." She left the hut. "Bye," she calls while closing the door.

After the door closes, Janelle whispers, "Oh no," in pure fear.

The list owner strolls through her village, heading towards the artist's hut. She strolls past several other huts but stops dead in her tracks.

"Oh bloody hades."

A grin forms on Red Hope's lips at hearing that familiar voice. "Missy?" she calls while moving towards the leathers hut.

"Shit," growls Michelle, and she suddenly reappears at the entrance of the hut. "Hi, Red." She smiles shyly; her hands fly up and grasp both sides of the doorframe, blocking it. "How are you?" She tilts her head and smiles sweetly.

"Aaalright," draws out the list owner and gets the utmost curious look at her friend's funny attitude. "What you doing in the leathers hut?"

"Leathers hut? This is the leathers hut?" inquires the artist innocently, and she comes up to her friend. She quickly turns the bard around and slips her arm around her friend's waist. "I didn't know." She strolls away from the hut and leading the list owner away.

Red Hope stops in her tracks and faces her moderator. "How could you not? What you think it smells like in there… roses?" She raises an eyebrow with an evil grin.

"Yeah actually," jokes the artistic bard.

"Michelle," warns the bard sternly.

"What?" roars the artist, throwing up hand. "I got lost into the hut." She waves off casually and looks everywhere but at her friend.

"Michelle," warns the list owner again.

Michelle huffs and puts her hands on her hips. "Can't I go into the hut?"

Red Hope opens her mouth to protest but is cut off.

"Yeah, that's right." Michelle nods proudly. "I can go into that hut if I want to. So don't get your leathers all in wad." She turns on her heels and stomps off proudly.

"Michelle Galea," snarls the list owner lowly.

The artist bites her lower lip from laughing hard before turning around. "Red, what does it matter?"

Red Hope narrows her eyes but a faint grin tints her lips. She points a finger at Michelle while taking small steps towards her. "You are hid-"

"Red!" interrupts Queen Karena and comes power walking up.

The list owner's shoulders drop. "Hades," she mumbles. "Hey, Karena."

The moderator joins the pair and smiles at Red Hope. "Uuuh, MomBard wants to talk to you about something." Her eyes flicker to the leathers hut behind the list owner then back to Red Hope. "She has a wee topic to discuss with you."

The list owner folds her arms and taps her foot on the ground. "Does it concern the list?"

The Queen clears her throat and replies, "Yes."

"Then you two moderators are coming too."

"No, no," argue the moderators simultaneously in hasty voices.

The Kiwi smiles sweetly and takes a step closer. She grasps her friend's arm. "Phyl said she had to talk to you aaalone. Nobody else," she drew out in a slow tone. She releases her the small arm. "Top secret." She winks.

Red Hope's eyes widen. "What in Hades name is-"

"You better go," urges Michelle suddenly. She grabs her friend's arm and drags her a little ways. "You know, gotta keep your list in order, Red." She flashes the brightest email and pushes Red Hope off on her merry way. "Go on, list owner."

The bard narrows her eyes at the artist. "Yawl are-"

"Hurry up, Red," orders the Queen while wagging a finger. "Mom needs a talk."

"Fine, I'm going!" snaps the list owner and stomps off but laughing softly.

"She's in her hut!" calls Karena and gives a wave.

"Yea yea," grumbles the bard.

Michelle chuckles and calls, "Bye, babe."

Red Hope grins at her friend. "I'll get you later."

"Hmmm." The artist folds her arms and watches the bard disappear behind a hut. "Thanks, Karena." She peers up with a grin.

The Queen laughs quietly and turns to the other moderator. "You had her under control."

"I don't know about that." Michelle holds her hand out to the leathers hut. "She was bloody hades ready to walk right in there."

The Kiwi Queen shakes her head with a grin. "We're okay now. You did stash the stuff huh?"

"Yeah I did," replies the artist, and she shifts her hands onto her hips. "I, personally, don't like this."

"Ah, Phyl is bound to talk her into it."

"Maybe." Michelle shrugs. "I'd been better off doing it instead of Mom."

Karena shrugs now. "You needed to hide the stuff if anybody else did and she found them. She'd torn them apart."

Michelle laughs. "True."

"Somehow, you've got her wrapped around your finger," states the Queen with a grin.

"What?" asks the artistic bard innocently. "I do not." She smirks at her friend.

Karena starts walking. "That's not what I notice," she teases. "How'd you do it?"

Michelle chuckles and shrugs. "Wanna hear the secret?" She evilly grins up at the other moderator.

"Just a wee bit, yes."

The artist laughs softly and replies, "Make her a few nice covers and you've got her." She waves her hand with a grin. "Doesn't fail… she's a sucker for them."

"Really?" inquires the Kiwi; rather surprised.

The artistic bard just holds back her pile of laughter. "Definitely, she's a softy for them."

"Hades," mutters Karena. "I cannot make covers. If I could I would, then ask her to write a wee bit more."

Michelle chuckles and peers through the sunset lit village. "Well, guess you cannot get her wrapped around your finger," she teases.

"Wait," cuts in the Queen. She stops and grasps the small moderator's shoulders. "You can get her to write more," she states excitedly.

"How's that?"

Karena throws up her hands. "You already have her wrapped, now you can ask her to write more." She grins evilly. "Entice her a wee bit, you know, mate. Like tell her you'll make more covers if she writes more." She walks again, headed towards Janelle's hut.

Michelle laughs softly. "Mmmm, I don't like her too busy," she mumbles under her breath.

"What?" yells Red Hope in all of her furry anger. Her voice echoes out of MomBard's hut and vibrates through the village.

Karena stops dead in her tracks. "Mate…?"

"Yeah?" whispers Michelle quietly.

"You best work a wee bit of that magic you have on her tonight." She laughs nervously. "She's not happy about this one."

Michelle chuckles nervously too. "Not cool," she mutters.

"Come on," orders the older Amazon and leads the artist at a jog towards Janelle's hut.

"I am not allowing that in my village!" growls Red Hope lowly.

MomBard takes a step back with her hands up. "Red, its already in the village," she states cautiously. How'd I get sucked into this job? she wonders to herself.

"Where?" inquires the list owner hotly. "I want it out, now!"

MomBard sighs and shakes her head while lowering her hands. "I don't know, babe. I just know the stuff is in the village."

"Since when?" asks the list owner and she starts pacing in the hut.

"I'm not sure," replies the moderator. "Supposedly Empress Cy, Michelle, and Janelle knows everything."

Red Hope growls and keeps pacing. "Everybody knows the rules, why'd they bring that centaur crap into my Place?" Her breathing rather heavy. "I cannot believe this, this… centaur shit!"

The moderator sighs and sits down on the foot of her bed. "Red, calm down. Please?" she begs.

"I can't," responds the bard hotly while still pacing. "How much did they bring in?"

"Only two twelve packs," informs MomBard.

"Why'd they bring it in?" mutters Red Hope. "They know the rules. They're gonna pay for this." She paces more and more. "And we have the forbidden beverage maker." She huffs. "We don't need this centaur shit!" she yells angrily.

MomBard considers for a second then her eyes widen. "That's right… they got it in the town," she whispers.

"What?" Red Hope whirls around and faces her friend. "What town?"

"Remember when Karena was on vacation? Then we had to go to town?" MomBard sees the list owner nod. "Michelle and Janelle snuck off and bought the beer."

"And where was I?" asks the bard hotly.

"You were busy with the bard's stand," reminds MomBard. She shakes her head. "I had nothing to do with it."

"How'd they pay for it?" Red Hope folds her arms and rocks on the soles of her boots.

"The Amazon Visa," answers the moderator.

"Oh gods," groans the list owner. "This is ridiculous. Those three are in hot water… so is the Queen Karena."

"Did you hear that?" whispers Janelle as she stays hidden below the window of MomBard's hut.

"Yeah," whispers back the Queen.

"Its gonna be off with our heads," utters Empress Cy beside the Kiwi.

"Not mine," jokes the artist with a smirk.

Tea smirks at Michelle. "I wouldn't be so sure, Michelle. You did instigate in getting the forbidden beverage."

"Yes, ya'll are gonna get it for this," states Terri quietly.

Cindy shakes her head. "Well, glad somebody told Red now. She would have seen the Amazon Visa's charges soon."

Empress Cy shrugs and grins. "Mom will calm Red down and pursued her."

"Personally, I am not drinking at all," states Michelle.

"Goody-two shoes," teases the Canadian.

The artistic moderator laughs softly and whispers back, "I'm being smart."

"No fun," teases Janelle.

"Sssh," orders the Queen when she hears Red Hope and MomBard getting back into the argument. "Listen."

"Mom, I'm not," states the list owner sternly.

"Please, sweetie… they earned it after yesterday." MomBard smiles sweetly.

Red Hope shakes her head and stands tall or as tall as she can. "No," she declares deeply. "It’s a rule that no forbidden beverages are allowed in the village let alone to be drinken."

"Why not?"

"Because…" The bard's shoulders drop. "Because we do not need forbidden beverage for us all to have a good time."

"True," agrees the moderator before sighing. "Its just for them to relax with, it won't hurt anything."

"Mom, they'll get drunk!" roars the list owner.

"Off twenty-four forbidden beverages between six people? Red, come on."

"No," states the bard. She stares down her friend.

MomBard groans, stands up, and grasps her friend's arms. "Red, how about this? We'll make them eat a decent meal before they drink so that it won't affect them as much. Take it easy on them." She reveals another sweet smile. "They earned it after dealing with the hairy monster for two days."

"Ma," whines the bard.

"Come on, they're mature enough not to go wild… I think," she jokes.

Red Hope chuckles and nods. "No."

"Red, don't be stubborn." MomBard grins while saying, "They'll drink the stuff anyway."

"No," states the bard again.

The moderator then decides on another approach, a more moral aspect of her friend's. "You give everything and everybody a chance right?"

"Yeah," replies Red Hope but suddenly realizes what her friend is getting at. "No, don't even."

MomBard laughs softly. "Come on, give them a chance this time and see how well they do." She pauses and whispers, "Please, for me?"

Red Hope grumbles for several seconds then mutters, "Alright, okay… we'll try tonight."

"Thank you, babes." MomBard hugs her friend, glad that dirty work was over with. "You're such merciful list owner."

The bard laughs and releases her moderator. "Right." She sighs and steps back. "Alright, let's go announce they can drink tonight."

MomBard was about to add something but without warning, there was a roaring outcry of cheering outside.

"What the…" Red Hope looks out the window and sees her Amazons jumping up and down screaming and cheering. "They… those…" Her eyes narrow and she growls, "Snitches."

The moderator laughs amusingly while watching the Amazons celebrate over their forbidden beverage victory. "They over heard the entire conversation."

"Damn feathers," mutters the list owner with a grin and heads out of the hut.

MomBard follows out, closing the door behind.

For several moments, Red Hope watches her friends jump up and down screaming, well except for Terri. Terri is standing aside, watching with a smirk, and crossed arms.

"Alright, alright!" orders the list owner. "Be quiet!"

The Amazons all laugh and stop, they face Red Hope and go serious.

"Tonight at the victory party, you guys can drink. But!" Red Hope grins evilly. "You have to eat a fairly decent meal before hand. Is this clear?"

The members nod happily with silly grins.

"What about the forbidden beverage maker?" inquires Janelle.

"What about it?" asks the list owner.

"Can we use that too?" implores the Queen happily.

The bard raises an eyebrow. "You have forbiddeness for it?"

Queen Karena kicks at the ground a little. "Yes," she replies quietly.

The list owner sighs and puts her hands on her hips. "Alright, we can add forbiddeness to the unforbidden beverages."

The members start screaming and cheering together while giving each other hugs.

Red Hope chuckles and grins. "Wild bunch," she mutters.

"And you let them on the list," reminds MomBard.

"I know, what was I thinkin'?" jokes the bard.

MomBard grins. "You were thinkin' family."

Red Hope peers up and smiles.

The moderator winks and looks back at the group.

"Hold on, we have to thank Red," cuts in Michelle as an evil grin takes her lips. "Everybody hug the list owner all together!"

"Oh sugar!" screams Red Hope and she instantly is attacked by her Amazons in a massive hug. "Missy!" she growls loudly.

The artist snickers and watches the group of Amazons strangle Red Hope in a hug.

"Okay, okay," orders the list owner. "Let's go start the party."

The Amazons release the small bard and all grin in the sunset lit village.

"Janelle." The Queen turns to the Aussie bard. "Get the forbidden beverage maker, please."

"You got it, mate." Janelle grins and heads off.

Empress Cy faces Michelle. "Michelle, can you light all the torches?"

"No problem," replies the artistic bard and heads off to care out her duties.

"So, where is the forbidden beverage?" inquires Red Hope to Queen Karena.

The Kiwi Queen chuckles and replies, "In the leathers hut."

The bard's mouth drop and she puts two and two together. "She… that sneaky Aussie."

Queen Karena laughs and pats her friend's arm. "Ready to prepare the celebration?"

Red Hope chuckles. "Yup, let's go."

The rest of the Amazons remaining prepare the dining hut and area around for the celebration from the victory against the Hairy Monsters. By that evening, the village is blasting with Amazon music and half dancing, stumbling Amazons. It came out to be a very, very long but hysterically evening in the Place. For a few half drunk Amazons can be the funniest sight ever seen on the face of the Xenaverse. Especially Queen Karena.
