You can dig wells. Each year, 50,000 more people in Malawi gain access to clean, safe water thanks to the well-digging and well-rehabilitation work supported by Church World Service.
You can shape international policy. By urging Congress to finacially support establishing effective AIDS prevention programs in Africa, and by supporting CWS, we research the use of the Moringa tree as a nutritional supplement to increase life-expectancy for HIV/AIDS patients across Africa.
You can stock food pantries. Every year CROPWALKERS nationwide share more than $4 million with local hunger-fighting initiatives such as food pantries, soup kitchens, and community gardens.
You can provide disaster relief. In the U.S., CWS's Interfaith Crisis Counseling Teams trained clergy and other caregivers in the NYC-metro area to provide long-term trauma and grief counseling in the wake of Sept. 11 -- while in Afghanistan and on the Pakistan border, CWS rushed Family Shelter Kits and food parcels to uprooted Afghan families.
