Story Snippet - Nanotech

No one knows why the ship entered are atmosphere. All we knew from the pictures and video of it that were broadcast across the nations was that it was badly damaged. From the point we started picking it up on are long range scans to the point it entered the atmosphere it was evident that it was coming here.

Why we may never know. For shortly after entering the upper atmosphere it started to brake up. Pieces were never found and , other than letting us know there was something else out there , it quickly came to be another unsolved mystery relegated to the whimsical place of such things.

A few years later the plague hit. At first marked as nothing as a powerful cold/flue. It quickly became apparent that it was something else. As the weeks went by the sick didn't get better. They changed.

From what was found out later , from surmise , analysis of available data and what was "left" of the ship , the ship was a nanotech construct. From bow to stern. From Portholes to sublight engines. It was completely constructed out of nano-technology. Smaller than small machines designed to fulfill a specific purpose. To keep that ship alive.

When the ship broke up this "nanotech" burst forth into the sky. Flowed across the globe. Finally settling into new hosts. It didn't care what it was. If it was living it would bond with it. Was this a good thing.

Most found it to be a curse. transformed into living machines. Androids , Robots , Cyborgs. A new changed world had dawned.

One in which you find yourself also changed. Also one of the accursed. Will the unaffected humans hunt you , or use you for some nefarious plot. What will you do in this world.........
