God's Glory
SUMMARY:
This lesson showed the comparison between the dedication of the temple Solomon built and the Day of Pentecost, when the saints received the Holy Ghost in the upper room. Great preparation went into building the temple of God. The lesson described how the people not only dedicated the building and the items that went inside the temple to God, but also how the people collectively dedicated themselves to sacrificing to, worshipping and praising God. The same was true for the saints who were in the Upper Room. They came together "with one accord"-with the same purpose in mind-to collectively worship and praise God in Spirit and in truth. As a result in both events, God demonstrated his approval by filling the temple Solomon built and the bodily temples of the New Testament saints. Emphasis was also placed on the fact that God will fill our "temples" today when we take time to make proper preparation to worship and praise Him in Spirit and in truth.
