Principals for judging rightly
Principal #1: Judgment must occur first within the body of Christ.
PE1 4:17 "For the time is come that judgment
must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us,
what shall the end be of them that obey not the
gospel of God?"
PE1 4:18 "And if the righteous scarcely be saved,
where shall the ungodly and
the sinner appear?"
LUK 6:36 "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:"
LUK 6:41 "And why beholdest thou the mote that is
in thy brother's eye, but
perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me
pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when
thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is
in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine
own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to
pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye."
MAT 7:1 "Judge not, that ye be not judged."
(If I alone judge that
is not right.) (However,
see below)
MAT 7:2 "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall
be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but
considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of
thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own
eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam
out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly
to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls
before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and
rend you."
JOH 8:3 "And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto
him a woman taken in
adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the
very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be
stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said,
tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus
stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he
heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted
up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you,
let him first cast a stone at her."
(Jesus's Judgement of the Pharisees
and judgement of the woman.)
JOH 8:8 "And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?"
"She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
"The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record
of thyself; thy record is not true. Jesus answered and
said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is
true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell
whence I come, and whither I go. Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man."
(Not after the flesh but judges
the heart of man). (He judges sinful heart, not the man's outward
deeds)
COL 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat,
or in drink, or in respect of
an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath
days:"
These are things of the flesh,
outward and not inward..of the spirit..
JOH 8:16 "And yet if I judge, my judgment is true:
for I am not alone, but I
and the Father that sent me. It is also written
in your law, that the testimony of two men is true."
(Two men....Jesus and me.
Just me not good enough. So for my
judgement to be right it must
be confirmed in the word of God, and the Spirit also.)
JOH 8:18 "I am one that bear witness of myself,
and the Father that sent me
beareth witness of me. Then said they unto
him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor
my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also."
JOH 12:47 "And if any man hear my words, and believe
not, I judge him not: for
I came not to judge the world, but to save the
world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one
that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge
him in the last day."
(If the word I speak is His word,
then it is word that judges and not me judging.)
Principal#6: Judging must be about the inner hidden secret things and not the outward manistations.
ROM 2:16 "In the day when God shall judge the secrets
of men by Jesus Christ
according to my gospel." (Its
the secret things he judges.. The fleshly and outward sins are only the
manistation of those secret inner things. Man can not know those things)
ROM 14:10-13 "But why dost thou judge thy brother?
or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand
before the judgment seat of Christ.
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee
shall bow
to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let
us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather,
that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his
brother's way." (This
is judgement about eating meats offered to idols fleshly
things not spiritual things.)
JAM 4:11 "Speak not evil one of another, brethren.
He that speaketh evil of his
brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil
of the law, and judgeth the
law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a
doer of the law, but a judge.
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy:
who art
thou that judgest another?"
ROM 14:17 "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men."
(These are outward and things of the flesh.. And not the things of the spirit which are the important things. No need to judge the things of the flesh.. But judge those things of the spirit. No where does it say to not judge the things of the spirit.)
CO1 4:3-5 "But with me it is a very small thing
that I should be judged of you,
or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own
self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified:
but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing
before the time, until the Lord come, who both
will bring to light the hidden things of darkness,
and will make manifest the
counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man
have praise of God."
CO1 5:1-13 "It is reported commonly that there is
fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as
named among the Gentiles, that one should
have his father's wife. And ye are puffed
up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed
might be taken away from among you. For I verily, as absent
in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I
were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together,
and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver
such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the
spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying
is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole
lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a
new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed
for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither
with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened
bread of sincerity and truth. I wrote unto you in an
epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators
of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters;
for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written
unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother
be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a
railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with
such an one no not to eat.
For what have I to do to judge them also that are
without? do not ye
judge them that are within? But them that are without
God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked
person."
CO1 6:2 "Do ye not know that the saints shall judge
the world? and if the world
shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge
the smallest matters?"
PRO 28:5 "Evil men understand not judgment: but
they that seek the LORD
understand all things."
ECC 3:16 "And moreover I saw under the sun the place
of judgment, that
wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness,
that iniquity was
there. I said
in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked:
for there is a time there for every purpose and
for every work."
ECC 5:8 "If thou seest the oppression of the poor,
and violent perverting of
judgment and justice in a province, marvel not
at the matter: for he that is
higher than the highest regardeth; and there be
higher than they. "
CO1 11:31 "For if we would judge ourselves, we should
not be judged.
But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord,
that we should not be condemned with the world."
Let God judge us now..
If we be judged now then we
will not be judged later..
