THE PLAN OF SALVATION FROM THE BIBLE

Mat 7:21-23 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he hat doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

THE GOSPEL (GOOD NEWS)

SIN PROBLEM

• Rom 3:10, 11, As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
• Rom 3:23, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
• Rom 5:12, Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

DEATH AND HELL PROBLEM

• Rom 6:23a, For the wages of sin is death; Rev 20:14, 15, Re 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. The second death is the lake of fire.

LIFE   (Thanks to God for a solution for our problem!!)

• Rom 6:23b, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
• Rom 5:8, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
• Rom 10:9, 10, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
• Rom 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

To simply believe in God is not enough to satisfy His requirements.

But I believe in the Lord!

Jas 2:19, Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 

What does it mean to believe?

Eph 1:12-14, That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

To  simply invite Jesus into your heart will not save you, He wants more than your heart,  the following must be done:

2) He or she must realize that the wages of sin is death, eternal damnation apart from God in the lake of fire.   Romans 5.12

3) He or she must realize that the only hope for the sinner is Jesus Christ, and that he or she has no hope without Him.   Roman 5.8

4) Then he or she must place his or her complete trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to pay his or her sin debt, in his or her place. The sinner must place all of his or her faith in Christ to be his or her substitute.
Roman 10.9

5) We are told in Acts 2:36, that Jesus is both Lord and Christ.   He or she must surrender all to Jesus Christ, holding  back  nothing.

In other words, He does not offer FIRE AND LIFE INSURANCE. A key part of genuine salvation is REPENTANCE, being willing to turn from our own way to God's way as revealed in His Word. It involves, Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done.
