End of Sessho-maru?!

Rin and Jaken stood near by and watched the fight between Inu-Yasha and Sessho-maru over the Tetsusaiga. "Hand it over, little brother, or you shall not live to see tomorrow," said Sessho-maru. "Never!" Inu-Yasha replied as he gave Sessho-maru a cold stare. Sessho-maru, with his usual calm expression, gave Inu-Yasha a devilish smile. "You think you can defeat me, Inu-Yasha?" he said. "You. You of all beings in this world really think that you can defeat the Great Demon of the Western Lands?"

Inu-Yasha continued his cold stare. Sessho-maru jumped in front of Inu-Yasha and grabbed him by the neck, slowly raising him off the ground. While crushing his brother's neck Sessho-maru said, "Little brother, you have no chance." Suddenly, an arrow flew between the two brothers. Sessho-maru turned to see Kagome notching another arrow. "Stupid...girl..." Inu-Yasha managed to say. Sessho-maru turned back to his brother, "She will die after I break your neck." Sessho-maru continued to crush Inu-Yasha's neck. "Kagome! Get...out...of here!" Inu-Yasha said with a wince in his voice.

'Oh no! I need to help Inu-Yasha!' Kagome thought. 'I know!' Kagome pulled a silver glowing arrow out of her pack. 'I use this enchanted poison arrow Kaede gave me.' She notched the arrow and after a moment's concentration, she released the arrow.

Sessho-maru stopped immediately at what he was doing. He felt a great pain coming from his chest. He dropped Inu-Yasha to the ground when he felt everything in his body go numb. His vision was going hazy. As he collapsed on his to the ground, he looked up at Inu-Yasha that was now towering over him. He then turned to the direction of Rin and Jaken as they watched in horror. Sessho-maru looked deep into Rin's eyes. Rin could sense his pain, her body tensed. Sessho-maru's eyes rolled back into his head a fell backwards facing the sky.

'What has happened?' Sessho-maru's mind was still going as he struggled for life. 'I've been struck by a truly powerful weapon. I never thought I'd see the day. Inu-Yasha will pay...for...this...' Sessho-maru's body went cold.

Rin watched a distance away as Sessho-maru lay dying. "Oh no! Sessho-maru-sama! No Sessho-maru-sama! You cannot leave me here!" Rin ran across the clearing with tears streaming down her face. She finally reached Sessho-maru's lifeless body and fell on her knees next to him. She pulled out the arrow and looked at it with anger and hurt in her eyes. 'How could this happen to Sessho-maru-sama?!' she thought. Rin then looked up at Inu-Yasha and glanced over to his companions then back to Inu-Yasha. "Why did you do this to Sessho-maru-sama?!" They just looked at her with shocked faces. "Answer me why!" Rin screamed at them. And she tossed the arrow before Inu-Yasha's feet.

"L-L-Lord Sessho-maru!" Jaken exclaimed as he finally caught up with Rin. Jaken looked over Rin's shoulder and stepped a few feet in front Inu-Yasha. "You will all pay for this!" he cried. Jaken stabbed the earth with his two-headed staff. "You will all pay dearly!" The old man on the staff began to gather energy. Inu-Yasha yelled at the others, "Get away from here!" His companions quickly ran into the forest. The old man released the fire energy from his mouth. When the smoke cleared seconds later, there was pretty much another clearing in the flat grassy battle ground. Unfortunately for Jaken, Inu-Yasha and his followers escaped.

"Oh! Lord Sessho-maru! I've failed you again," said Jaken with a grim look on his face. He sat himself on the ground next to Sessho-maru's body with his back turned to Rin. Rin looked down at her former master. 'Sessho-maru-sama, you cannot leave me here alone with Jaken.' Tears streamed down her face once again as she hugged her master one last time...
