| The Premise: Two representatives from each ECAC school, the Coach and the player from each team, are stranded on the ice at the 1980 Olympic Arena in Lake Placid New York. This will be a test of thier ECAC expertise and endurance. The 12 teams are divided into two rival tribes for the first part of the competition. First there is the "Safety Tribe", this tribe consists of: Clarkson Colgate RPI SLU Union Vermont They are in opposition to the "Nobsay Tribe" (think pig latin, get it?) who is made up of: Brown Cornell Dartmouth Harvard Princeton Yale In the first few rounds, each tribe will face an immunity challenge based on the teams success this season, last season, and in the past. Success being measured in a number of different ways. The losing tribe will have to endure tribal council, and lose a member. But here's whats different, the people on the ice do not get to vote, it's the people in the stands that counts. Yes, thats right, the arena is open to all the ECAC fans to watch their teams play, brag about their accomplishments, and talk with their fellow ECAC fans. When tribal council occurs, all the members of the tribe that lost the immunity challenge will face a vote. The tribal members will meet in the face off circle, and the team voted off will have their stick broken, and they will have to leave the ice. They will be unable to compete in any more immunity challenges for the team. So who do you vote for? You can vote for the school you don't like, whether you don't like their fans, the team itself, their arena, radio announcer, band, you name it. You can vote for who you see is the weakest member of the team, or you can pick the strongest member to increase your chances of lasting longer into the game. There's a message board to talk to your fellow fans on. Once you vote, you cannot vote again in a round. After we are down to 6 teams, they will merge into one tribe, the "EZAC tribe". There will still be immunity challenges, and the winner of that challenge will not have to go to tribal council that round. The remaining teams will have a vote, with the team getting the most votes being eliminated. When we are down to just two teams, you vote for your favorite of the two, and they are the winners! Rule changes for 2001: Once again, I retain the right to make up or change rules as I see fit in the interest of fairness. Voting will be done in a different way this year, instead of voting online, you must vote over e-mail. To register for the game, e-mail me at Redraider013@yahoo.com, you can register at any time, but once the game begins, you must sit out one vote before you are allowed to vote. When you initially register, all I need is the name of the school you are representing, and also, let me know if you would like to join an e-mail list with your fellow fans for your team. I will be kept on all e-mail lists, as those conversations are part of the game, if you join your teams e-mail list, you will e-mail me the message you want to send to everyone else on your list, and I will do it. So, the e-mail list should only be used for stradegizing, there are message boards for general conversation. The voting now will be like regular survivor, where you can only vote someone out of your own tribe. When the game is restarted, only "nobsay" fans will be voting one of their own out. Those fans will e-mail me their ballot, as well as any statement they would like to make about the team they voted for, or who they wanted to vote for, and who is going next. The fan poll will remain active, and the results from that will still have a bearing on future episodes. There will also be a "Sound Off" page, where every week I ask a question, for example "What is the one moment that you were happiest for another ECAC team?" "What is the worst thing that another school ever did in your eyes?" "Which is the worst arena?" At the end of this, and other e-mails you send me, sign it how you want it to appear on the page, there is no lying, but you can sign it using your handle, school name, or nothing. For example, I can say "Gary", "Redraider013" "Colgate fan" or nothing. There is a message board on this website, there will be a thread following the game on USCHO, and if you join yahoo, the ECAC hockey club usually has the chatroom open on game night. The game will start In mid to late November, depending on entries, so e-mail me your registration, and go find some more fans, good luck to all. Update: November 19th, the game will resume today. You may talk to your fellow teams fans, or your own fans, by e-mailing me your message as well as who you want it to go to. Sign your message the way you want other people to see it. The voting will be over e-mail, so you need to be registered before you are allowed to vote. You may also include other comments in your ballot. Remember, everything is fair game for the story.
