August 6 @ Angels
Lost 4-1

  • Boston Globe: Set-back for Sabes

I listend to the game on Friday on my way to Maine, well half listened anyway, it was a loong ride, a good win though nonetheless. Saturday's game I missed completely, no radio stations would come in on the camp ground, but after seeing the score, Arrojo still hase done nothing to help the team. I did see most of yesterday's game, and to sum it up in one word, Ridiculous!

First, KC is s sub .500 team. I don't want to hear about how their an "up and comer" they are a sub .500 team, therefore we should take two of three at the worst. Second, we out hit them yesterday ten to eight, and somehow managed only one run. Third, yet another wasted effort by Tim Wakefield, even in the games Wakes has lost he's been great, kept us in everyone since he's returned to the rotation. Four, some shoddy defense that allowed one unearned run, and a stupid base running error (regardless that the call was wrong) in the ninth prevented the game from being tied, at worst, in the ninth.

I'm not even going to get into the usual lack of clutch hitting, i'm starting to sound like a broken record in all these write ups. One more thing to mention, everyone, I mean everyone, that could have lost and helped us yesterday, did. The Yanks, Jays, and A's all lost, yesterday could have been a day to gain on everyone, not something that happens too often. This story is getting tired.

The Sox head back to the West coast for three against the Angels, Tomo Ohka takes the mound tonight at 10:05pm EST.
