Won 11-8

Since it's the Twins we are playing I won't go as far and say "we have turned the corner". But three straight wins against anyone is something to talk about. Though Jeff Fassero struggled and only managed to go one and two-third innings, the bats stayed hot and pounded out another twelve hits, en route to another double-digit score.

Troy O'Leary wasn't the hero three nights in a row, but heck, even if you're hot, three nights in a row is alot. But the slack was picked up by Scott Hatteberg (1-5 HR R 3RBI), Ed Sprague (2-5 R 3RBI), Jeff Frye (2-5 HR 2R 2RBI), and once again Morgan Burkhart (1-3 R 2RBI) makes a contrubution.

There are two other guys on this team who have continued to hit well in this series, but have been overshadowed by the return of O'Leary, the debut of Bernard Gilkey, and home runs by Manny Alexander and Jeff Frye. But i'm going to leave it at that, i'm not going to be responsible for jinxing anyone. Those who follow this team even remotely close, know who i'm talking about anyway.

I guess I have to give credit where it's due. John Wasdin picked up the win last night after coming in relief of Fassero and pitched four and one-third scoreless innings. Against the Twinkies or not, that's still pretty good, nice job Wasy.

Late in the game the combo of Rich Garces and Tim Young threatened to let the Twins back into it, as the two combined to give up four runs in the ninth to make it an 11-8 score. But as you can see from the boxscore, Derek Lowe came in and "shut the door" for his 19th save.

The Sox finish off this four game series tonight at 8:00pm EST. Rookie Paxton Crawford gets his second ML start, and i'm sure Izzy Alcantara won't be out in right to screw him over again.
