ESPN: Sosa or Gonzo to be in Pinstripes

I keep trying to remind myself that it's still only June and we're not even at the half-way point yet. But it isn't even fun anymore right now. Whether the game is in May or if it's down the stretch, if you're a die-hard, you never want to lose. When things are going as they are now, and have been for over a month, It just stops being any form of fun.

I thought after the Sox beat the Jays on Friday, and then scored ten in an alomst miraculous comeback on Saturday, that the offense would start to come around. Nope. Still the same, Nomar is still chugging along, but that's it, I even see hints of a minor slump for Carl Everett right now too.

This series was the perfect opportunity to stop the bleeding and start the race. The Yanks were coming off a complete blowout by the Chi-Sox in ther own building. Though the Sox didn't fair much better in their previous series, they were still in better shape than the Yanks at the time.

When was the last time the Sox strung three straight wins in a row? Way too long ago, that's when. On top of that, the last thing you want to happen is for the team that your chasing to get on a hot streak, because of you.

There's really not much more to be said, we just have to wait until they turn it around. The only thing we have going for us right now is that it's still June, plenty of time to come back. No offense to the month, but I can't wait til June is nothing more than a memory.

I'll be at tonight's game with my "Yankees Suck" t-shirt on and my cheering shoes going. Pete Schourek is on the mound for the start at 7:05pm EST.
