Many of you who saw the game first asked yourself why is nomar not playing short. His glove has been a little shaky recently but he still a good defensive shortsto, no vizquel, but still good. From the reports I have heard he just woke up yesterday morning and couldn't even walk. He still wanted to play, as a DH he went 0-3. Before today's game he told Jimmy he wanted to play in the field, he does not like playing DH. I personally don't blame him.

Early reports had Tomo Ohka starting the first game of the Toronto series, come to find out early Friday "Way Back" Wasdin was getting the nod. Well...he lived up to his nickname giving up three bombs to Fullmer in the 2nd, Mondesi in the 3rd, and Cruz in the 4th. The good news is he was around the plate, only walking one. Florie and Wakefield contributed to shutout the Blue Jays the rest of the game. Wakefield after making his feelings known about the his role pitched 3 innings of no-hit ball. Way to go Tim.

How about the offense. Well the game started off real well with a Lewis single (caught steeling) then Frye K'd, Nixon hit Homer, Nixon would later get a single to finish the day 2-4. Of course even in a loss, someone outperforms everyone else, usually Garciaparra or Everett. Well you know what Garciaparra did, Everett had a pretty good game. He opened the 2nd with a solo shot and an rbi double in the 8th. I have heard people say Varitek should have taken that pitch off the foot. Hey, A 100-mile an hour fastball, no one should take one for the team.

Hopefully we can work through this series. The AL East is a monster right now. Three teams within one game of each other. Let's go sox, now is the time with the Yanks playing the ChiSox.
