Unbelievable! We just keep finding more new and inventive ways to lose games each night. Another blown save, some shoddy defense, and even the rarely called "catchers interference" was a part of the loss. Oh what fun it is to be a member of the Fenway Faithful.
This is just typical of a struggling team. We finally get some offense, but the bull-pen, specifically Derek Lowe, decides he's going to go on a cold streak. A streak that is following great pen work but no offense. We just can't seem to put it together all on the same night.
I didn't get to see much of the game, I heard most of it on the radio. When I was paying attention that is, Wednesday night is Strato Night for myself and my friends (Strato is a dice rolling baseball game). So I can't really comment on the performance on anyone specific.
But even though Lowe should have come in to shut the door, the Sox should have been up by more than one run anyway, giving Lowe a little room for error. Some awful defnese early in the game, that kept a couple of innings alive for the Os, proved to be a killer again.
I'm pretty much lost for words here. It's simply not much fun to be a fan right now. All we can do is "keep the faith" and be glad that this damn month of June is nearly over.
Tonights game against the Os is scheduled for a 7:05pm EST start with Tim Wakefield on the mound.
