I TOLD YOU SO! Sorry to start things off this way, but as I said, and a few others (including SRYD), Wakefield should be starting. Minus one mistake in the 8th to Albert Belle, he was awesom all night. We needed Tim to come thru huge last night, and he did exaclty that. Wakes finished the night with 7 1/3IP 9H 3ER 2K and of course the Win.

The bats also came alive, especially Brian Daubach, as the Sox exploded for twelve runs, including three homers. Daubach led the way going 4-4 2R with two dingers and 6 RBI. Not far behind was Scott Hatteberg 3-4 2R 3RBI and a three-run homer of his own.

This could be the type of game we needed to get things going, as a good portion of the line-up did very well. Morgan Burkhart has done nothing but impress thus far, going 2-2 with 3BB and 3R. Also Jose Offerman followed up his three-hit night with two more last night and a couple of RBIs as well. Per usual Nomar chipped in with his two hits and Jason Varitek went 1-4 3R and a RBI. Over all, a great night for the offense. We're going to have to keep it going, as we head into Chicago for a three game set this weekend.

We were also treated to the debut of Sang Lee last night. Lee pitched 2/3 of an inning and let up a solo homer in the process. We'll have to cut him some slack, it was his first ever appearnce in the majors. And John Wasdin finished up the game with a scoreless ninth. Which is exactly the only situation Wasdin should be brought into a game, for mop-up. Whether we're up 12-4 or down 12-4, that should be the only time we see Wasy.

Tonight's game from Chicago is scheduled for an 8:00pm EST start with Hipolito Pichardo getting the nod.
