What do you get when you put Brice Florie and John Wasdin in the same game? A friggin blow-out! And Duke gave both of these guys two year extensions?

Well if you can't tell from that opening paragraph, we lost, big time. Pichardo was decent, really only making a couple of mistakes, but in his defense we knew he wouldn't be able to throw many pitches. So what does Jimy do, when the Sox battled back to make the score 4-3? He puts Flame-Out Florie in the game to blow it open.

Florie went a whole 1/3 of an inning and surrendered three earned runs, which pretty much took all the wind out of our sails. After Cormier came in to end the fiasco of a 5th inning, John Wasdin was brought in, bad idea. Way Back lived up to his name and the end result left us fans shaking our heads again.

Saturday afternoon's game will feature rookie Paxton Crawfod on the mound, called up to take Pedro's spot in the rotation. The game is scheduled for a 1:15pm EST start.
