I'm strapped for time here so this update will be short and sweet. I'm not all too upset about the loss last night, we were going up against one of the best pitchers in the game and we played him pretty tough. Maybe it's because the Yanks were completely spanked by the Mets, but either way we're still only a half game back.
Even when things are going good your not going to score on every opportunity. Yes the first inning waste of base runners was disapointing and could have been the difference, but we are talking Maddux here.
O'Leary showed some more signs of coming out of his season long slump as he picked up another hit and hit the ball well in general all night. We also came thru late in the game when it most counted, or atleast to make it a game of it. As the Sox scored three times in the 7th off Maddux, a point in the game where he's usually his strongest.
Jeff Fassero was pertty good until he started walking people, but there was also a very questional ball four call that turned into the Braves big inning.
You never like to lose, but sometimes there is such thing as an acceptable loss. Tonights game is scheduled for 7:00pm EST with Pete Schourek on the mound.
