  • Boston Herald: Pedro gets racial taunts in Cleveland

  • Not exactly what we were hoping for from Ohka last night. That coupled with facing their third tough pitcher in as many games spelled defeat for the Sox. Have to give the Tribe some credit, they won a game they HAD to win, as Pedro takes the hill tonight. The Sox deficit climbed to three games making tonight's game that much more important.

Can't really complian about Ohka, he's young, he's been great in his last five or six starts, he was facing the Indians, and he was due for a thwarting.

Cleveland starter Bartolo Colon certainly didn't have his best stuff yesterday, but when you have a 100+ mph fastball, you don't always have to be on top of your game. The Sox did have a few chances to score runs, but when the pitching gives up ten, it's a tough order for any team.

Can't really say much except to just chalk it up to "one of those games". I have to say though, Manny Ramirez is incredible. He's played in only 96 games this year I believe, but he now has over 100 RBI for the season, along with almost 30 dingers. Hmph, he'd look real good in a Sox uni next year. Won't happen but I can dream till he signs somewhere else.

As I mentioned earlier Pedro takes the mound tonight in kind of a must win for the Sox before we head to Detroit for four (including one double-header). Game time 7:00pm EST.
