Now back to Jimy. First it was the absolute imbicilic decision to start Steve Ontiverous in the second game of the double-header on Saturday. The guy hadn't thrown a major league piuch in FIVE YEARS! So lets start him in a game that the Sox really need to win, and just to make things more difficult I think we'll put the best hitter in the game on the bench (Nomar), and also sit one of the teams hotter hitters (Offy). I can't think of any other logical explanation other than Jimy wants to lose. It's the only thing that makes sense. We can fault DD a little for Ontiverous, he did sign him, but Jimy is still an idiot.

I'm begginig to think that for the last two seasons all of Jimy's unorthedox decisions that worked were just dumb luck, or has he just had a run of bad luck this year?

Now lets move to yesterday's game, I missed most of it, actually pretty much the only thing I saw was Gilkey's clutch wiff in the ninth. My only question. Why the hell do you pinch hit Gilkey in that situation? The guy has rightfully been on the bench for a while now, he hasn't hit all year, and he sucks. So lets put him in a big pressure situation, I mean he does work hard and deserves to play, right Jimy? I don't see how the Jones/Gilkey match-up was better than Jones/Merloni. Oh wait, Jimy is trying to lose, now it makes perfect sense.

The road trip started off great we were on our way to being in a dead heat for the Wild Card going into the five game series with the Tribe starting tomorrow. Instead we're 2 1/2 back and anything less than four of five in this series, the season is over.

Tomo Ohka will take the mound on Tuesday against Charles Nagy to start the series, game time 7:05pm EST.
