September 19 vs Indians
Won 7-4

  • The pitching match-ups I stated below in the game recap have since been changed. The correct match-ups are Pedro vs Steve Woodard and Paxton Crawford vs Dave Burba. Pete Schourek has been put on the shelf for the rest of the season. I have made the changes below in the "Tonight's Match-up" section.

  • We needed that big time, as long as we score some runs today and something unforseen doesn't happen, we should get this series out to a 2-0 start. Pedro is scheduled to start the game at 1:05pm EST today with Pete Schourek on the night cap.

The way yesterday's game started it was more of the same from the Sox offense, as with one-out and the bases loaded in the first, we failed to score a run. Fortunately the Sox didn't let that phase them as the offense paved the way to a 7-4 win.

No real reason to go over how and when we scored, the only thing any of us need to worry about is whether we won or not. Though the bomb Bichette hit in the fourth inning last night, was the longest shot i've seen all year from a Red Sox player. Over the freaking light tower, damn.

Today the real test begins as we have the first of two straight double dips. It's no secret that it's very difficult to win both ends of a double-header, but just keep in mind that you can't win both if you don't take the first one. Pedro will be on the mound for game one at 1:05pm EST (the weather is supposed to break and get real nice), so things are looking good on paper anyway.

Provided we win the first game the night cap is going to the real test. If we lose the first one, then the night cap could be near immpossible as the blow of losing with Pedro may be too much to overcome. But riding a big Pedro win into game two could propel the team over the top, and they'll need everything thay can muster as Pete Schourek will be on the mound for the 7:05pm EST start. But I swear, if Nomar is on the bench for either of the games today, i'm going to freak. Don't do it Jimy! Don't!

With the Indians loss and the Athletics win last night, the A's have moved into the lead for the Wild Card, so we still have some scoreboard watching to do. We're 2.0 behind the Tribe and 2.5 behind the A's. Lets go Os.

The Yanks have now lost four of their last five, and in three of those four losses they've been blown out of the building. Nice to see them playing poorly as they head to the post season.

As i've been saying for about a week now, time to put-up or shut-up. Go Sox!
